  1. YAY! After a painless interview this morning at the Dar es Salaam Embassy, we were approved for an IR-1 visa. Myvisajourney was hugely helpful in figuring out how to navigate this cumbersome process without a lawyer. Thank you!!

Despite having to wait for four hours before our turn came around, the consular officer could not have been nicer or any more professional toward my husband. We made a few friends through this site who also had a visa interview today and all of them said the same thing about this gentleman. He didn't even look at any of our evidence - just asked my husband how he met me, what I do for a living, what he does for a living, and his previous experience living abroad in the UK. All in all, super courteous and professional.

Visa will be ready on Monday and he plans to join me in the US next Saturday! After 14 months, I couldn't be happier to see this journey come to an end. :) Good luck to everyone out there! Don't lose hope!

  2. I am wondering the same thing.

My husband's interview is on Thursday. I called the NVC a few days ago to ask what financial information he needs to bring to the interview - they said they need the Federal Income Tax Return along with W-2s for myself as well as for the joint sponsor. I specifically asked if I needed to bring an updated I864 with 2014 information and the lady told me that I don't need updated I864 forms. However, after some searching on the forum, I saw conflicting responses from people. Does anyone have a clear answer to this question?

  3. Hi Hitesh & Sarah! Congratulations on your interview! It seems surreal after all this waiting. I unfortunately am not in Tanzania at the moment, but I'm sure Benjamin would like to meet you both if you are interested. I wish I was there!

That sounds really nice! What time is his interview on the 7th? Hitu's is at 8:30. If they're at similar times, maybe we could go for brunch/lunch together afterwards to celebrate! I refuse to consider any outcome other than an approval... ;)

Has Benjamin gone for his medical exam? Hitu and I went yesterday morning and I must say, I was really impressed with how courteous and professional the doctor was (he had Pierre).

Counting the days to get this man back to Boston with me, and I'm sure you're doing the same!
