Hi all I`m new here and was hoping I could get some help! I am originally from Hawaii, moved to Japan and married a Japanese national. We have a son, who has his US passport as we did consular report abroad.
We are planning to move back to Hawaii, but since I have no credible income (only Japan income) I need a joint sponsor.
My father who is divorced would be able to sponsor. My father has no dependents listed on tax forms.
Question:
Would my father fill out both the i864 and i864a? I am not his dependent, so technically we are not in each other`s household? (household in terms of tax terms)
I am thinking he is the joint sponsor, so just the i864 is needed, right?
Would my father put down 1. himself / 1. my spouse (intending immigrant) and 1. my son (dependent) for the household size?
or, would he put down 1. himself / 1. my spouse (because my son is not immigrating as he has citizenship?)
Thank you very much in advance! These forms are confusing...

Aleful, thank you! So when my dad fills out his i864, he only lists my wife the immigrant, right? Or does he also list my dependent (my son) as well?
