You don't send anything to the London Embassy. I recommend having a good read through the information they have posted in their immigration section. All the relevant information is there. I wasted a good 2 months because I failed to do that properly...
I agree with Stressed Out.

I agree with Nich-Nick.
Also you will not get the visa issued on the day of the interview, that is up to an additional 30 day processing time from the day of the interview IIRC. If you go through people's timelines it is usually much quicker, but there will always be exceptions. -
Everything is fine, gave them a ring. Just needed to call them for a transcript.
-
Thank you BTW, will bring that with me

I have that, but I am more worried there is nothing on file...

I filed my 1040 for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 via the amnesty program. I then sent off my 2013 taxes this year. I went to the IRS website and asked for my transcripts and they are blank. They had my address I used on my taxes on file though, which is where my blank transcripts were sent to. I am giving the IRS a ring tomorrow to find out what is going on, we have an interview for my Wife's visa on the 16th of September... I have not received any notices that there was a problem...
I have filed, and I have a copy of my 2013 1040 and 2555 and FBAR. Would my reports be blank though? Anyone have had a similar experience? -
I did not receive a notice of approval until about a week after the date on the website. It is only updated on Mondays. I'm sure there will be cases that may go quicker, to save yourself disappointment plan for a week or two after that date. It is still very fast. I think the wait time in the USA is getting close to 2 years now.

Yes they are accurate as of each Monday. We received our notice of approval today and we sent off the 11th of April.

Thanks for the help. I am sitting tight until we get this sorted.
Putting the package together now -
I live in the UK at the moment and I am taking redundancy at work. I am preparing an I-130 package for my Wife so we can all move back to the USA. My question is can I file via DCF if I move back to the USA partway through the process? I will be out of a job soon and would like to pick up a job in the USA while we wait for the application to be approved.

The only issue I see with your entire case is sponsorship. Lost at sea did DCF so please join the DCF forum and follow their advice. Your process will be very fast. I suggest getting the kids CRBA and US passports asap!!
Sponsorship will not be an issue thankfully It will just be a case of getting some paperwork from the USA.
All sounds pretty hopeful, thanks! Will get on the DCF forum. Mods could I get this thread moved please?

Am I reading this right? This graph says it's approx 166 days for IR1/CR1 to process through London after the interview has been completed?

1) Yes.
2) Yes - DCF.
3) No.
4) If you file DCF you wouldn't need an expedite, since DCF is extremely fast.
5) Yes, just make sure you can prove that the US will be your domicile again very shortly.
6) She could enter on the VWP but would need to depart at the end of her authorized stay.
You should expect to have the visa in your hands within ~3 - 5 months from submitting the I-130 to the US embassy in London, if you file DCF.
Thank you!
Would they reject entry on VWP if the I-130 is in process? Would they deem the entry an intention to stay? I assume that she would have to fly back to UK, pick up her visa, then fly back into the USA on the visa if she was allowed in under the VWP?

Hello,
Hopefully someone can help.
I am a USA citizen and my Wife is a British Citizen. We have 2 children that were born in the UK ages 5 and 2. We have not filed for their USA citizenship yet.
My work is going through a redundancy and we were planning on moving to the USA in about a year or so. With the redundancy it has brought forward the process and I could use some guidance on the best filing practice. I will probably be out of a job, and income, by the end of April. I do have another job lined up in the USA however.
1. What do I need to file so our Children have USA passports? A CRBA and apply for their passport?
2. File I-130 for Wife?
3. Should I apply for K3 Visa?
4. Can I expedite paperwork based on financial reason? (Losing job?)
5. Do I still DCF since I am planning on moving to the USA ASAP after losing job (April)?
6. Are there any other options available for my Wife to grant her temporary entry into the USA while we are waiting for the I-130 approval? The problem is finances while she is living in the UK.
Can I get the visa and then start to plan our move to the US?

Have a read through these timelines and have a look on the timelines listed on the website here for DCF London. My wife is waiting for her visa to arrive, it's been approved. My timeline is a bit slow. I wasted 6 weeks or so waiting for something I already received.

10 months is an exception, most will see their in 3 months I expect but depend on circumstances.
