Hi all -
My husband has a CR-1 Visa. POE December 26, 2015. We are waiting for both his Social Security and Green Card to come in the mail. I paid the ELIS $165 fee before he came to the U.S.
On the DS-260 we checked yes to wanting a social card number. It is my understanding that this is all we had to do and his card should come in the mail. Is this correct? I see some people posting about going to social security offices to apply.

Hello all, for those that have already made the trip to the U.S., can you let me know what the process was going through immigration? Thanks!
-
@kmurcia I'm not sure. I remember reading that it could take around 1-2 weeks for Colombia, depending where you are getting it sent to (my husband lives in Cartagena). I'm trying to figure that out too....I think we're not going to buy any tickets until he has the visa in hand in case there are any delays...

@kmurcia Congratulations!! My husband and I also just got a interview date, December 9th in Colombia too! Looks like Bogota was scheduling today! Best of luck!

Hi all I have a few questions about registering my husband's interview appointment. It asks for the "numero de expediente" and the "DS-260 number". Do those refer to the NVC case number and the DS-260 confirmation number???
Thanks!
-
Hi all I have a question about registering the appointment. Where it asks for "numero de expediente"/"file number" what number is it asking for? The NVC case number? And where is asks for "DS-260 number" what number does that refer to, the confirmation number? Thank you!

Interview scheduled for December 9th!!!! I just called and found out. CC Oct. 28. Bogota Embassy.

@Russ&Caro and @Bogota Rocks thank you so much! super helpful!

Hi guys, I just got my case complete at NVC, and waiting to have an interview scheduled. I was hoping someone who has gone through this process can give me the run down of in what order the various appointments need to happen and how far in advance? My husband lives in Cartagena and I'm in New York so we'll both be flying to Bogota and trying to figure out about how long we should plan to spend in Bogota. He doesn't have a vaccination record so I know he's also going to need to get vaccines. Thank you!!

Thank you! @bond1980. I was put on supervisor review because my documents weren't reviewed within the initial 30 day time frame.

Hi all! After a long wait I finally got my case complete from NVC and am now turning my attention to preparing husband and I got the medical exam, interview, etc.!!!
I'm looking for ANY advice from those who are going through or have gone through the process in Bogota. Thank you!

After 29 days on supervisor review I got my case complete today!!! Wishing a case complete for all of you still waiting very soon!!
Who knows if this helped or not, but I called every single day while on supervisor review and finally got a representative to talk to her supervisor who then requested my file. My advice would be to try to get someone who will do that for you and not accept their "you have to wait 42 days, i can't do anything" speech.
-
@bond1980 I just called and they told me the same thing. Their system is down and they can't access any case information...
-
Congratulations @fsaind!! I hope the rest of the process moves fast and smoothly for you.
Do you happen to know the name of the supervisor you spoke with? I am on Day 27 of supervisor review
-
Hi all. I'm on day 21 of supervisor review. This is just for the initial review of my documents - no checklist or anything.
-
We are also under supervisor review because NVC did not review our documents within the 30 day initial review. We have been on supervisor review since September 29. Today I called and asked to speak to a supervisor. The representative put me on hold and then came back and said she spoke with her supervisor, who said she would locate my mail and I should call back Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Hoping this means they will actually review my documents but who knows!
-
@theskeets Yes, that's right I'm just waiting for initial review. Still nothing yet...
-
Thank you all for the responses. It seems like some people get very lucky and others don't
I was put on supervisor review as of September 29. I called my senator's office today to get a request in to them so that they're set to make a request to NVC as soon as the 42 days are up...I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard. It felt like the end was in sight seeing people get their CC at NVC in under 30 days but now it just feels like a black hole.
I hope you all get your CCs soon!!

Hi all. My scan date (August 25th) is past 30 days and when I called NVC today they said they can send it for Supervisor Review (which they say will be completed in 45 days or less). (The woman at NVC told me they are behind on the 30 days (although I see people on this getting CC in much less!) and that they are very behind on reviewing DS-260s.)
Does anyone have advice on whether to just wait for the normal review process or tell them to send for Supervisor Review? Thanks!
-
@Ibereal1 Yes, it's been 30 days from my scan date with no CC. I just called NVC and was told my documents have not been reviewed yet, and to give them one more day and then call back and ask for a supervisor if they still have not been reviewed.

Hello all!
I am getting ready to submit my husband's documents to the NVC, but not sure if I am submitting the correct police certificate. I followed the Bogota embassy instructions to go to www.policia.gov.co, but the only option I could find similar to "Certificado Judicial" was the "Antecedentes Judiciales" so that's what I filled out with my husbands' information and printed (and translated).
For those who have recently gone through the process in Bogota, any insight on whether this is the correct police certificate would be very much appreciated!!! THANK YOU!

NVC received my case 8/3 and I called today (8/17) (I've been calling everyday...) and they just assigned my case number and invoice number. The guy was very nice, but told me I wouldn't be able to fill out the choice of agent (DS-261) until I received the welcome letter. That was totally NOT true. I logged onto CEAC 1 minute after getting off the phone and was able to fill it out immediately.

Hello all -
Has anyone used "Antecedentes judiciales" from online without a problem? That is also what I was planning to use for my husband for his Colombian police certificate. I'm getting ready to send in his IV packet in the next few weeks to the NVC.
