  1. I scheduled an interview simply by emailing riyadhiv@state.gov. They requested me to email them a copy of the DS160. Afterwards I received an email from a consulate officer with our interview date (you will have to print this email when you visit the embassy on the day of your interview). After I received the interview date, I mailed them the passport pics, DS160 confirmation page, etc. The ds-2001 is not used anymore, so don't worry about it.

Make sure you pay the fees on ustraveldocs first before requesting the interview.

Be prepared to showman pictures of the two of you. They want to see evidence of the relationship like an engagement ring, an engagement party, gifts sent to each other, emails sent to each other, texts messages.

Thanks and good luck to you as well

  2. Correct. Go and schedule an appointment with The Jeddah consulate to get the letter for the police clearance. Take the NVC letter you should have gotten in the mail which has your NVC case number and a copy of NOA2 just in case. The consulate has strict rules about no cellphones so be aware of that. Go anytime to get your medical done, don't wait for a response from Riyadh.

Send an email to the Riyadh embassy before you've collected everything, just to get their attention. When you have paid the MRV fee online thru ustraveldocs then you can email Riyadh for an appointment.

For us, they scheduled the appointment a month later. Bring EVERYTHING that day. We didn't bring her original birth certificate so we went into administrative processing and we are currently waiting on a response after we mailed in the original documents.

  3. Hey guys,

Our case has been sent to the Riyadh Embassy (finally, thx God). Now my fiancee has made an appointment with the Jeddah consulate to pick up the appointment letter for the police clearance & medical exam (they never sent us packet 3 and when I emailed them they just told us to start working on the generic packet 3 that's listed on their website).

My question is can I directly mail my financial information to embassy now and my fiancee will send every other document when she's finished collecting it (she still needs to translate her birth certificate)?

My second question is about paying the MRV fees. We signed up on US travel docs website and she will go pay at a SAMBA bank. After she pays, what are we supposed to do to set the interview date? Go back on the website? Wait for a response from the embassy?

    Thanks guys, yall are awesoooome!

  4. First of all, thank you to everyone who on this site. Sharing information kept me from developing grey hairs.

I followed the outline provides by VJ, without the help of a lawyer. I'm excited to proceed to the next step without a RFE.

Oh, and my application went to the Texas Service Center. So, 5.5 months is probably a good estimate for those who haven't heard.

Best of luck to everyone! Even tho there is more to go, I feel like I won the lotto!
