  1. So I went into the ceac.state.gov website and noticed my case is now listed as "administrative processing". Is that normal after an interview and told you've been approved?

I also noticed, when checking on the status of the visa delivery, it still gives a warning about the technical issues regarding the printing of visas but the state.gov website states all sites are back up and running on printing visas. So confused. I hope they print my husband's visa this week, but I guess with backlog there's a chance that's a maybe???

    Interview & Visa Approved - 6/24/2015

  2. Interesting, I just checked out the link provided here for the U.S. Department of States news regarding the visa issues and the list shows the country my husband had his interview in yesterday as up and running. I wonder when that happened since yesterday he was told there was an issue and it would take longer to get the visa. Oh well, I guess it's good news they are back up and running. :dancing:

    Visa in Hand - ????

  3. My husband's interview was yesterday and he was approved. However, there was mention of an issue printing visas (I see some have mentioned it here too) and he was told it could be 10 days or so until he get's his visa in hand.

While I didn't participate a lot in this thread, I mainly was in the NVC CC thread the most, I did obtain a lot of useful info here regarding the interview. So thank you for that. I personally found the two threads totally different, each with it's own unique information pertaining to the stages we all must pass thru. This thread seemed more dedicated to the Interview stage and I wouldn't change a thing. Again, thank you.

    Visa in hand - ????

  4. Since I started in this thread while at the NVC I wanted to come back and state that my husband's interview was yesterday and he was approved. Took a long time to get to this point but it sure was a relief to finally be "done".

This thread was a major help to me as I passed thru the NVC and waiting for a CC. So thank you.

  5. Ok, I suspect I don't need the I-864A. I found this comment on the internet and it basically applies to me...

I called the Embassy again, and after further questioning, found out that:
    1) Both my parents and I have to fill out the I-864 (like you said)
    2) Only my dad's income is being used to sponsor my husband, so even though he and my mom file a joint tax return, he did not have to fill out the I-864A.

The I-864A only has to be filled out if:
    1) The joint sponsor needs additional income (like if my dad would us that of my mom's) to reach the poverty line set by the US government., or
    2) If I would use my husband's income along with mine to make our joint income above the poverty line (then I would still fill out the I-864, and he would fill out the I-864A)

I find it so confusing when they send out standard letters to everyone making someone panic over something that may or may not pertain to them. And why the heck does one get a letter from the Embassy on such short notice? Like I needed more stress.

  6. Thanks for answering me. So besides me digging out ancient, old wedding photo's (since it's been many, many years) can birth certificates of our children count? Honestly, not sure what I can submit to prove this. The letter I received from the Embassy said cell-phone records, conversations, etc... BUT we've obviously lived together all this time and wouldn't have such records.

Also, I'm sweating it out here in panic. Interview is just two days away and now I get another letter from the Embassy with more directions and requests and it listed Documents and/or Actions Required. One item on the list was I-864-A (Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member). The NVC never asked us for this document, thus none was ever submitted. Now I'm panicked do I really need this form filled out to be submitted. I am the sponsor to my husband but we also have a co-sponsor, my parent. Do I really need the I-864-A or was it simply a standard letter issued by the Embassy thus not always pertaining to me? And if it's really needed who fills out the I-864-A..... me or the co-sponsor?

I love how you have your file in order, everything ready to go and you get a last minute notice from the Embassy giving you basically one day to address additional directions/instructions.

All depends on what embassy you are interviewing at. Yes even double digit folks at some places still have something to prove at some some places and to some CO's its not always a walk in the park

  7. Proving relationship, is that valid for everyone at the interview stage? What if you've been married for years, talking double digits? It would really seem odd to me if after all this time my husband would still be requested to "prove relationship" and asked to answer lots of relationship type questions. I've seen comments where people said they took wedding photos, etc... to interviews. Putting together my files and wondered if anyone with interview experience that's not a 'newly' married couple?

  8. Hey, congrats on your interview! Still got a month to go for my husband's but already time seems to be flying. I knew when we got to this point it would just go by in a whirlwind.

Hi i was told over the phone by nvc that my interview is june 18. In my email to doctor M's office I explain that, so they booked my medical for May 29..hoping we get our confirmation email by then.

  9. In your interview letter there should have been a page listing what each 'code' stands for. The 'code' is the letter at the end of each line,,, F, J, A, $, etc.... That code tells you what action you need to take, if any.

But I do agree, be prepared for anything as the Embassy retains the right to ask any additional evidence from you.

  10. Totally understandable if work is keeping you busy that you don't have time to wait on hold for NVC. I'm holding off a bit to call, I want to give them a bit more time because like you said, we wait on hold for a while. Personally, I'm not sure which part is harder... waiting for that CC.... or knowing you got a CC but not getting assigned an interview date.

I honestly dont know how long to get an interview date...sadly my work schedule has changed and I dont have time to call and wait on the phone for over an hour to hear bad news from nvc...but will keep u posted once i hear anything...have a great day and keep the faith.

  11. I also would like to thank those who volunteer to keep the spreadsheet updated, I know it sort of landed in your laps.

I'm still waiting for an interview date to be scheduled. I did get the official, in writing, letter of CC on 5/8, so basically a week after the actual CC date of 5/1.

Here's a question, when we log into ceac.state.gov and select "check my visa application status" should the location of the file change at some point from "at the NVC" to something different when it's being processed for the Embassy? I'm thinking I've seen comments like that status changed for some, maybe I'm wrong?

    Interview ????????

  12. Congrats!

I called the NVC earlier this week and did confirm my CC on May 1st. I was hoping to get lucky and have an interview date but the rep. said for me to call back after next week to see if one is assigned to me by then or not. Yikes, I thought getting a CC was hard.... maybe getting an interview date is harder?

Case complete for meeeeeeeeeee yay!! :dancing: The NVC rep said that it was completed yesterday but i didnt get any N/A on my AOS fee. For you guys that didnt get any CC yet try to call maybe you can get the good news too.

  13. Just to keep the thread updated. I had the CC on 5/1 and I'm still waiting for an interview notice. So no further activity for me. Since my CC landed on a Friday I assume it will take a bit longer for the NVC to get an interview scheduled. Does anyone know how it works? I assume the NVC contacts the Embassy at some point and the Embassy assigns an interview date/time to our case?
