  1. Good evening all,

We submitted an I-751 for my wife back in April. We did not receive an NOA or a biometric appoint. We submitted a service request back in June. Their letter stated that it was still pending service. Thus since my wife's residence card expired in June we made an infopass appointment. We were able to obtain a stamp in the passport. We called several times to follow up but no response regarding the biometric appointment. In October we submitted another serviced request. We received a response, and to our surprise the original appointment letter was included. The letter stated that it was concluded that the appointment letter was lost in the mail. In November (before Thanksgiving) we went to the Biometrics office, and my wife was finger printed.

Here is the problem, today we received a letter stating that we did not fulfill the biometric step, the case was considered abandon. If we want the case to be reopen we would have to file a motion and pay $600. I find this totally absurd. We followed all the necessary steps. I called ucsic and spoke to customer service. Their response was to pay the $600. I will try again tomorrow and this time try to speak with an immigration officer. Just in case, we made an infopass appointment, as we have proof that we did not abandon the case.

Has anyone faced this type of problem??

    Thanks

  2. Hello all,

My money order was cashed back in May07. After waiting more than 2 months for an NOA, I have made an Infopass appointment for my wife.

Has anyone had an experience similar to ours?

I was wondering, in order to receive a stamp in the passport must one be traveling in the near future?

Also, will they provide me with an NOA?

    Thank you all

  3. Good morning all,

I filed through Vermont on April 2.... I still have not received an NOA. I did receive the blue receipt dated 4/26. I see a lot of the Visa Journey members who filed after me have aleady received their NOA and Biometric appointment. Is there anyone else in the same position as I am?

I called up and the Immigration officer mentioned I have to wait at least 45 days from the date I received the blue receipt. I thought it was 45 days from the day the application was filed??

    Thank you guys

  4. Hello all

21 days later and I still have not received an NOA. I receive the blue receipt from Vermont on 5/9/07. Today I contacted INS and was transferred to an Immigration office. He provided me with the EAC number, which is the second EAC set of numbers on the blue receipt. I told him I will continue to check on the status via online. To my surprise he tells me that this is not possible since there is no way of checking it online. I told him yes, after explaining it to him he still says no. His explanation was that there is a different system that tracks down I-751 cases. I know he is wrong based on the posts in this forum. Should I be worried that I still haven't received an NOA?

    Thanks all

  5. Good morning all,

I was wondering how long does it take for the EAC number to be processed in the system? So far I've only received a blue receipt, which was received on 5/9. I called up the 800 number. I told them that I have not received an NOA. I gave them both EAC numbers that were on the blue receipt and neither worked. They transferred me to an immigration officer. He told me that many applicants may not receive an NOA due to the heavy work load they are facing. Is this true? Well, he mentioned that the second eac number shown in the blue receipt is the actual receipt number.

I guess the wait is still on...........

  6. Hello all

After a month we finally received something from Vermont. It was a blue receipt.

Is there any point of receiving this (besides letting us know that the payments were processed)?

The blue receipt has an EAC number. I tried using the UCIS website to keep inform of the status but the EAC number is invalid. Am I correct trying to use the website for a current status?

    Thank you all

  7. Thanks. I will be submitting the marriage certificate from the church because it will further prove our relationship.

Just in case, I will include the marrige certificate from Ecuador which states we were married in the City Hall.

I understand the Permanent resident card should be on a separate page. My question was if putting a copy of the front and back of the PR card on the same page would be an issue.

    Thanks

  8. Hello everyone,

Its good to be back on this forum. Yesterday my wife completed a year and 9 months living in the US.

Well we almost have all the information gathered to submit to USCIS in Vermont. I just had a couple of questions:

We got married legally in Ecuador back in Sept of 04. In November of 06 we got married in a Catholic Church. I will be submitting the marriage certificate we received from the church. Now, should the certificate of when we got married legally also be sumitted?

Will there be a problem if I submit a copy of my wife's resident card (front and back) on the same page?

Thank you all for your time

    Giovanni

  9. Hello everyone,

About 2 years ago I went through the process of bringing my wife from Ecuador to the USA. Once again thanks to all of you for the warmth advice.

The reason why I am positing this message is to ask once again ask for your advice. This month my brother got married in Colombia. He will follow the same process as I did which was submitting the necessary documents for the CR-1. My question is in regards to his wife who has 2 Children. They are of ages 2 and 4. I am unclear as to what the process is of petitioning for her children? Is there a different application he must submit? Must his wife be admitted first in the USA and then they can petition for the children?

    Thanks to you all.
