  1. If my fiance is living in Oregon what service centre do we need to file our letter of intent too?

We are having to start over again- will explain later just need help with this right now

Also address details would be great!

i live in oregon so im very sorry to tell u csc

Last time we started at Nebraska and got transferred? Are you sure its CSC? Where can i find their address please?

  2. Thank you for your response.

My fiancee is American and I am applying to move to the USA.

I don't know why that has come up as Armenian? Apologies.

I try and call the consulate but get a constant engaged signal. We really have no idea where we are and just need to know if we should just start again!

I hear there is a code you must state to send an email to the consulate. Do you know this?

Also is it possible for me to perhaps apply for a 6 month work visa in the states whilst i am processing my k1? I just need to be with her its heartbreaking for us and really straining.

Thanks for your help, it is really appreciated by us both.

  3. Ok guys.

So we have messed up. We didnt receive any information following our latest packet once we were transfered to the London consulate. I thought it was just delayed processing times. I think we are now out of time. Does the process expire? Would we have to start again?

What is the best way to contact the London consulate? Who can give us an answer whether we need to start again :(

I read that there is a special code to email the london consulate, does anyone have this?

Also, Shari wants to come over and visit me end of February. Are there any chances she will be denied entry whilst I am applying for my k1 to go to the USA?

We are resigned to the fact that we haven't done things correctly and my trust has led us to lose valuable time and nearly my fiancee. We are going to start again if we need to but just need to know either way. Sorry the details are a bit vague but its 5.30am in London and Im just wanting to get this on here as Its extremly hard to get online at work.

    Thanks for your help.

  4. OK this post is in desperation as we have totally lost hope.

We have been waiting for ever since the last communication. We were supposedly awaiting a doctors appointment, interview. Basically our case was with the US consulate in the UK. NOW nothing... We have not heard from them in months, my letters havent been answered etc etc.

I think we have made a mistake, missed a form or something. Firstly is there any way of finding out where we are?

If we have messed up can we recitfy it and carry on?

Would it be better to get a solicitor involved to take over from us?

Do we have to start all over again :(?

Please can you answer these questions for me, sorry for the vaguness of this post its 7am just needed to get on this.

  5. So basically its been a very long time without any news.

Last thing we heard was our petiton was rec'd at the embassy in the UK. Then nothing.

Its been quite a well and Im scared I havent sent off a form or missed something. ive been very busy and stressed out and now im really scared we are going to have to start over again.

Is this normal? If we have missed something can we start from where we left off or do we need to file all again?

I thought it was just a case of waiting for the medical but its been months and months now. Does it all expire?

please help im so scared and am losing hope :(

  6. Congrats on your approval!

Shari is currently in the UK on a work visa (so that we could be together during some of this process). Looking at the guide there are alot of forms that she needs to fill out and signed infront of a noterie (sp) how does her being in the UK effect this, is there any ways round this?

If you just mean getting forms notarised(notarized) then this can be done by a Notary Public in the UK. Call round a couple of solicitors and you're likely to find one that has a Notary on staff. They will stamp your documents with the '3D' stamp exactly as a US notary does. They will charge (I think I paid around £50 for a bunch of signings for the annulment of my first marriage in the US.)

Shari has recently graduated and her payslips work history reflect that of someone working part time whilst a full time student. Will this be frowned upon when sending in her payslips?

So long as you meet the financial/income/asset requirements, I wouldn't foresee this as a problem.

    Good luck :)

Thank you SO much. What are the finacial/income/asset requirements?

  7. So we got our approval on 16/10/06! WOW! We are both so pleased.

    But.....

    2nd Q.

Anyone give me any tips or help with this?

P.S Congrats and warm wishes to all those who have recently rec approvals!

  8. First of all, Congratulations! :D

Secondly, as far as the check, I would recommend transferring the money to her and HER paying the fee from her American checking account. The first part of the K1 process is pretty much "ran" by the US Citizen. They are the ones that fill out and gather the vast majority of the paperwork. The US Citizien must petition for the foreign citizen to be brought into the country. It's great that you are investigating, but I'd recommend she gets onto this too.

Have no idea about the work visa, sorry!

    Hi everyone!

So Im just back from Oregon and Shari and I are engaged! I am so happy!

    So here it begins.....

Any tips for starting the K1 process?

When I write the cheque for the first petition do I make it out in $ even though I have a British account?

Shari is coming here for 6mts on a work visa through BUNAC, will this bare any effect on the process?

Any advice for the early days really appreciated!

    Love to everyone

    Craig & Shari

    Thanks Cass!

  10. First of all, congrats!

Second, well hmm...there's no guarantees of course but the best you can do is go prepared to give them all the evidence you can that you'll be heading home.

My fiance escorted me home from the UK after my six month visit. He was honest and said he was coming home with me for a 10 day stay then he was leaving. He had a letter from his employer showing he was due back at work on Feb. xx and he also had his return ticket. I'd also take some 'ties' like a mortgage, car insurance contract, lease on flat, etc. Show that you have a life you're going to have to return to. Other than that just be calm and try to answer clearly and relaxed. Just from reading horror stories of denials it seems the more nervous you are the more suspicous they become.

Good luck and congrats again on your engagement!

    :star: Joey

    Thanks Joey!

Its too late to get anything from my employers. I have my itenary stating when I am coming back etc. I just really hate lying, and am worried that I am coming back so soon. Im sure it will show up on the computer that I was over three months ago.

Im more nervous about immigration than proposing how messed up is that!

    :help:

  11. Hi all,

I leave Gatwick tommorow morning, to see my SO, got the ring, got the courage (eek) and am really looking forward to it.

    Thing is this......

I was in the states mid feb to see her, and im going back now. I got a real hard time at immigration (o'Hare) and this time I am going to Dallas Fort Worth, before heading to Portland. I have been told that Dallas are notoriously strict with immigration. Last time, I said I was seeing family friends, I am planning on doing the same this time.

Any tips? Any advice? Anything I should expect? Im going for 19 days, there is no way im planning to do a runner lol.

    help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  12. Hi everyone,

June 13 will be my second trip to the US. We haven't started the k1 process yet, wanted my SO to graduate, and then im proposing (this trip).

Anyways, I visited in Feb, at customs in Chicago for reason for visit I stated ' visiting family friends ' on advice from my close buddy. When asked again when I touch down in June, do I stick to the story? Or do i tell them the truth?

    Any advice please?

    Have a wonderful weekend all!

  13. So this is where I am.

I met my SO online a year ago, met for the first time whilst she was on a study abroad programme, she was in London for 3 months and we spent all of our spare time together. I have been to America and love it so much. I am coming back in June to see her for graduation and we are getting engaged. We have spoke about this for months but we agreed to wait for her to graduate first.

Im scared. The main reason is to be able to provide for her, Im talking in terms of job.

I am worried because I don't have a degree, I have got great GCSE~S and a GNVQ in Business but I am scared that I wont be able to get a job in the US above minimum wage

I am saving like mad at the moment to give myself the best start, sorry for rambling, guess I just want so advice, or your own experiences about work and how to get the best job.

I currently work in Insurance, I have previous experience in Banking, Complaints and Litigation, retail....

    Any advice, greatly received.

Sorry again for rambling, just so upset at the moment,

    Thanks

    Craig
