  1. We received letters of approval for my wife (K-1) and her daughters (K-2) but there was no email or text notification. I am also curious when we might expect the actual green cards - it is getting close to holiday travel season! The letter indicates it can take up to 60 days, but that seems like a long time. Since moving to Texas, this letter came out of the San Antonio office - if that matters.

Good luck to everyone still waiting! :clock:

    Charles

I received an email/text that my card had been ordered to be produced on the 15th, and received an actual letter notifying me that my case had been approved in the mail the next day.

Then I received an email/text on the 20th notifying me that my card was mailed. I received it the next day.

I'm guessing it depends on what state your reside in, but I'm thinking it doesn't seem to take more than a week.

  2. Hi everyone! Could not believe my eyes when I saw this tonight. :) :) :) thanks for the help everyone!

Good luck to all! :):joy: New Card Is Being Produced

On July 18, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

(P.S. I was too lazy to capture-upload. LOL)

So happy for you! California service center is surely moving. Hopefully things start moving for Vermont soon too. Congratulations are in order!

  3. There are cases where biometrics is no longer needed since they will use your old bio but your have to call USCIS to make sure if you have to do it again or not.

That's true, and a nice detail to mention. While reading through last year's April thread I did see cases in which some people never got a biometrics appointment, and after calling and inquiring what their biometrics "status" was, they were informed that their biometrics were "current", therefore there was no need for them to go get them done again because USCIS decided to stick with their previous ones.

Not sure how that all works for USCIS, but... I thought it'd be something worth mentioning and sharing with those of you who are currently worrying about the process. Hope you get news soon ☺

  4. Biometrics appointment done. :dancing: One of the security men at the door just asked "Fingerprints?" I said yes and he pointed to the office to which I was to go. There was one other person getting his fingerprints taken at the time I walked in there.

Long story short: I was in and out in less than 10 mins. The gentleman at the desk was very cordial, he stamped my letter without questioning my early arrival.

Now let the waiting begin. :)

  5. Want to read something funny???? When I wrote the check, I didn't spell the amount.... I just wrote the figure in the amount box.:bonk:

How do I know, you say? I received my entire package back with a blue note, advising that the remittance had been left blank :rofl::rofl:

On a positive note :star: they received everything and stamped my papers with receipt date 4/17 and .. well... at least they finally touched them. The letter was dated May 1st.

I have corrected the error and I will re send everything tomorrow.

    Now, dear VCS

Don't mean to laugh at you misadventure but, oh my :lol:

I'm in my early twenties and I've never filled in a check before. So just imagine me googling "how to to fill in a check" and continuously looking at sample images while doing so. I made sure to take a final look before sending it off in the envelope to check everything was right where it was supposed to be. Even with all that I had been anxious the previous weeks about USCIS running into any problems when cashing it. Check was cashed this morning so...phew :dancing:
