Fingerprint reuse notice: Mid August 2018

18 month Notice: also sometime mid august 2018

N400 was never filed as I am not eligible yet.

Old site was showing that case cant be recognized UNTIL --> March 11 -it showed card is in Production

--> March 15 -IT showed Card Was Picked Up By The United States Postal Service

--> March 16 -received USCIS Approval Letter

--> March 18 -10 years Green card in hands

New Site: still shows case received

I hope this is some good news for April Filers... Hang in there

Which basically mirrored my problem with my case number not available in the old system and the new system just shows that my case was received.

I hadn't gotten any transfer notifications or anything so on a whim I checked the old case lookup system and got the case was approved message as of 03/19/2019! The new system still shows my case as received and nothing else though. My NOA date was 03/29/2018 so I'm surprised at how quickly ours was approved! So I'll definitely be looking in the mail for the new greencard in the next week, can't wait!

Hang in there March filers and good luck with no RFE!

  2. That's for the certified copy of the marriage certificate right? My parents live in California so we thought about getting married at a courthouse there when we visited for Christmas but I saw that 6-8 week timeline for the mailed certified copy so we opted for the same day 10 minutes after marriage receive certificate in Florida instead.

But to echo the other posters, you've got time to file the AOS so try not to worry too much. This extra time allows you to double, triple, quadruple check everything else that needs to be sent in the package. :)

  3. Yeah my wife and I are in the same boat since we married in December and I have to file married filing jointly for the tax year.

We'll be going to a taxpayer assistance center to file the return with the form W-7 (for the ITIN) as it looks like you have to provide original documentation along with the form. We'll be using her passport for that. Lucky for us there's one right down the road from where we live. :dancing:

  4. My fiance had her interview on Wednesday and they barely asked any questions. She said it was really easy and she did not have to be so nervous. So I think y'all will be fine, just be prepared to have all the required documentation. Reading through the reviews of the Guangzhou consulate will help too as a lot of posters posted the questions they were asked and what the procedure was.

We're worried though because they did not take her passport photos so unsure where that leaves the visa.

  5. Thanks for the reply. I did some googling and found others had put the little black vertical number next to the photo on the info page. There was no red number on the first page just the passport number again but vertical.

We just put city where she had the passport assigned to.

  6. Also I have another question. My fiance received what I assume is packet 3? It's only asking for DS-160, copy of information page in passport, and 2 passport photographs. This is different than what is listed on ustraveldocs though.

  7. Hey guys, my fiance and I are filling out the DS-160 form and it asks for a 'Passport Book Number', where would this be located in a Chinese passport?

    Thanks for the help.

    EDIT:

Also the City of Issuance isn't listed on the passport either. Just the province of Jilin.

  8. Hello, I just want to first say this site is an enormous help with consolidating all the visa related information into one easy to read spot and I thank all the posters for providing their input to help everybody out. That said, I have an issue/question related to the K-1 visa process my fiance will be going through.

I'm just in the beginning stages of putting together the I-129F packet and my fiance is filling out the biographic form(s) G-325A to send back to me but we've already hit a bump/complication. She at one point had multiple booklets and was using them interchangeably. She was born in Yunnan province under one family name and received a booklet there and the DOB year was 1994. However her mother got a divorce and remarried in Jilin province. So she was listed on another booklet in Jilin but with the DOB year being 1996. She has canceled the other older booklet and now just has the Jilin version (she lives there now). She went to school with that one and she also just got a passport using the current booklet as well. The issue (I think) is that she used the older booklet for work before she canceled it.

So my question/issue is for employment history portion she worked in 2010 but according to the booklet/DOB she would be really young to be working and I was wondering if that would throw any red flags or be a problem. Would it be possible to receive any advice for this? I am figuring we can just list the DOB on the current booklet and passport and worrying over nothing?

Thank you again for any help you can provide.
