  1. Just saw this update on travel.state.gov.It might be a typo but they are saying 165 posts counts for 85% which doesn't make sense as it said 50 yesterday counts for 75%

It does make sense (unfortunately), the percentages are the demand for visas, not the whole number of posts. These 165 posts satisfy 85% of demand, the previous 50 handled 75%, meaning the newly re-activated posts are collectively small and handle 10% of demand.

  2. Does anyone know what the "six regional offices," are? This is an obvious source of the questioning about what posts are up (50 total) (but not specifically listed in the 1-44 what about 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50) and issuing Visas. Several responses to this question have been to point us to the system update, can we not be obtuse and actually try and address the question instead of mimicking the behavior of the bureaucrats that have already frustrated so many of us.

  3. Congratulations! :)

Speaking of CEAC, is anyone else stuck on 'Ready' (as in ready for interview) despite having had the interview? Do you think this may just be to do with the technological issues going on? Also it said my case was updated June 9, today it changed to updated June 23 but still says ready for interview. Anyone got any ideas?

    UT,

I see a similar CEAC result: Creation Date June 9, Status Update June 20

It says "Ready," although the interview was completed June 8th and Visa approved that day as well.

  4. Hi!

My boyfriend tried to schedule visa interview since the status on CEAC is "ready" but embassy wrote him an email and said that they did not receive any documents yet. The status "ready" was on the 19th on May.

    Why is that?

    And what to do now?

I called NVC with the same type of question and was told the system says that as soon as they send the package out to the embassy. It is not accurate, ours was sent on the 18th and the CEAC site says ready but the consulate does not have the package or has not opened it yet.

All we can do is wait. I did see that some embassies allow scheduling of interviews before they have the package, if you tell them the system says "Ready" but that has not been possible for us.

  5. You can call NVC soon. I received my case # the day they said they received it. They also gave me an invoice number and beneficiary ID, but I don't think we will need to use that.

For the affidavit, I am sending the form, my tax return transcripts, copies of my Form W-2's and the letter I received from my job offer last year. Oh, and pay stubs as well.

Each embassy requires something different. You will find out what they require when you get the "packet 3" from them. You can check the embassy's page as well. There may be more information there.

    Amhara,

I called NVC this morning and verified my case# and what I had was 100% correct. They have our package at NVC and it has not left for the embassy yet.

The lady said the K-1's do not sit at NVC very long and that the CEAC site is suffering technical difficulties at this time.

  6. My last suggestion: make sure your case # has 3 letters and 10 digits. Another common "mistake" people make is they didn't hear their case number correctly and either a) missed a number/digit or b) added one by accident.

    usmsbow,

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I have the case number formatted as follows: CSB2015######. It is three letters and 10 numbers. As we have both indicated the system responds differently if the number is not formatted properly or is not a true number. We are getting the same response and our case numbers were given at around the same time (within one day of each other).

Maybe it is just that they haven't entered our numbers into the tracking system, I don't see any reason to suspect it is user error or a "mistake" on our parts. The fact that we get the same response from the system when we enter the number we were given adds to my doubt that either of us captured the wrong number from our calls to NVC.

Unfortunately, we are left to speculate and just wait at this point, but I will continue to share what I am experiencing hoping it helps others with knowing what to expect.

    Thanks :)

  7. Congratulations! Yes, after I had my case number, my case details wouldn't load until Friday evening. The other updates also happened in my evening time. It makes me suspect that the system uploads on a batch system, so that everything that day updates at one time.

Give it a day or two. By Monday, you should be able to see the status!

Yes, Amhara, Thank You Very Much!!!

  8. Yes, by tomorrow or Friday, you should have your DoS case #.

Thank you, you were correct, I called was able to get the DoS Case # this morning. :) They were polite and did ask all the standard verification questions (the first operator and the second level person as well). I was not able to check the status on the ceac webpage, I keep getting the message "your search did not return any data."

Has anyone had a similar experience, is there a noted lag in time between assigning the case # and status updates being available on the state.gov site?

  9. I've read and contributed to dozens of NVC-related threads. You are the first to mention pre-sort. Haven't heard that one before.

No reason to panic yet. Out of the countless cases I've seen on VJ that went from TSC to NVC, only one got "lost" and took more than a month to reach NVC. As you said yourself, it can take up to two weeks from TSC to NVC.

It happened to me one time. I called up NVC, they said, "Yep, your petition has arrived!" and I got super happy. Alas, she crushed my heart when I gave her my fiancee's name and she replied, "Oh whoops, I think I typed in the wrong number. Can you tell me the number again? Oh never mind, sorry, we have no record of your case." Edited to add: since they ask for the beneficiary's name to verify, you're right, I doubt that's what happened to Plat900.

I called again a few minutes ago (dialed 28 times, but was on hold less than 2 minutes), now they say it was received (today) but that it hasn't been processed. They said I should call back in four weeks (saying it takes up to four weeks to process) if i haven't received a packet of instructions in the mail by this time next month.

BTW they have never asked for any information other than the USCIS case # (four separate calls), this might make sense if they haven't entered information in the system (there wouldn't be anything to check it against).

It is helpful having this forum for us to share information, it is heartening knowing that based on what I have read here I could reasonably expect to have that number by the end of this week.

  10. I called NVC last evening (around 5:30pm EST) and was told our case was in Pre-Sort, then called back this morning (10:15am EST) and was told they don't have it. I am not sure what to make of this response. They keep giving different timeframes for how long it takes to transfer from USCIS to NVC from 30-45 days when I call, but from what I am seeing here on VJ it isn't taking more than two weeks (especially from TSC). I have the notice that it was sent over a week ago and am just frustrated, I just wish some part of this process would go smoothly and efficiently...

    Any suggestions?
