  1. We contacted the US Embassy in Sydney on Friday, November 13, responding back to the instructions sent by them regarding Packet 3. Today, November 16, we received a response that Kate's interview was scheduled for next Tuesday, November 24. Pretty quick turn around time which we would otherwise be over the moon happy about but due to her being out of the country at the moment she'll not be able to attend the interview on that date and we've contacted the Embassy in regards to rescheduling it.

Now we're both a bit stressed and worried but we don't believe there should be any issues in having the interview rescheduled. We hope there isn't at least

Well we heard back and all is well! Interview got rescheduled for December 29 with no issues at all. Now we can breathe a gigantic sigh of relief!

  3. Congratulations to everyone who's gotten their visa approved!! Kate's been here with me for about 3 weeks now so we've delayed scheduling our interview so we could spend time at home together and just relaxing but we'll be sending out our readiness papers in the next few weeks. Hopefully her interview will be scheduled for the end of November/start of December and we'll join you all in the good news :)

Good luck to you all!! And again congrats to all of you who've gotten your approvals. Good to see everyone so happy.

  4. Good news on our end today! Got an email this morning that our petition is already at the US Embassy in Sydney. We have to reply back to their email with the DS160 Confirmation Number and some other information and then they'll schedule our interview. Since Kate will be here visiting on Friday we're going to wait a few weeks to send back the information they provided so that the interview will get scheduled for November or December sometime and we can spend some time together before she has to go back to Australia.

Good luck to everyone else going for their interviews soon or waiting to hear back on their petition!

  5. I called NVC for the first time this morning, I was on hold for 48 minutes and then a lady came on and asked for our case number, she entered it in and then said that they received our case on Friday, September 18 and that it was no waiting on a case number to be assigned which should happen in 45 days and to call back then. I'm assuming based on everything everyone else has said I can just call back in a few days though, right?

  6. Hi how long did it take you for you to receive the RFE in the mail ? we have an RFE too and I am waiting for the letter in the mail to find out what is for :(

It took 4 days for us to receive our hard copy. We got an RFE notice on the 18th and received the hard copy in the mail on the 22nd. Depending on what state you're in it should be less than 5 days for it to be delivered since its mailed out of California. Not counting Sundays since USPS does not deliver on Sunday.

  7. Hi all I just got an email today stating the status of my case is request for evidence I am not sure what to expect or what is it that they need since the email didn't specify I'm so worry now and a little sad they gave us until September ti submit whatever it is they need should I be worried I sent everything can anyone share if they are going through the same situation

We got an email on Monday that we were getting and RFE in the mail and it arrived today. For us it was asking that we provide documentation that the website we met on is not an international marriage broker. We met on Tumblr and it's a blogging and social network site not at all associated as a dating website or an international marriage broker.

When you get the letter in the mail it'll likely be two pages. The first page is a blue piece of paper that has all your information: A#, Application Title, Receipt Number, Name of Petitioner/Beneficiary, and a Notice Date of the RFE. It'll have specific instructions to attach that letter on top of the requested information and then it'll also say up until when you are given to submit the information. Then the second page has information on what it is they're requesting. They even include a self-addressed envelope should you need it.

We were freaking out too and worrying earlier on in the week when we got the email but we narrowed it down to the fact that it would likely be due to the fact that we met on Tumblr. It's hard not to stress out about it but you should receive the copy in the mail next week and you'll both know what it is that you'll need to provide. Hopefully it'll be something simple and you can mail it out as soon as you get the letter.

    Good luck!

  8. We got our RFE in the mail today and as expected it was due to the fact that we met on Tumblr and we didn't provide specific details about the website. Per the notice they're asking that we submit information regarding the website and the circumstances under which we met to establish our relationship.

I had put together a letter at the start of the week in preparation for this being the cause of the RFE and I stated that Tumblr is a microblogging platform and social networking website and is in no way affiliated or classified as an International Marriage Broker. On top of that I re-explained how we met and what it was that first drew us to speaking and forming our initial friendship and subsequent relationship. I even included attached their terms of service and privacy policy as documentation to establish that they are not an international marriage broker which I got both from the website and from speaking with their customer service support team.

This should be plenty, right? I'm sending out the reply first thing Monday morning since the post office is closed until then.

  9. My case has been updated to "Request for Additional Evidence Was Mailed", I don't know yet what evidence is needed.

I've waited for 38 days since receiving my NOA1 hardcopy. Sigh...

It looks like today was RFE day over at CSC  Wishing you luck and hope it's a simple fix they're requesting. Hopefully once we send our replies it won't be long before we're both back doing a happy dance about our approvals.

  10. I think that's actually a good sign! On lots of timelines it seems that as soon as USCIS receives the further evidence, the case gets approved almost immediately.

Best of luck, and I bet its something really mundane and nothing too much to stress over.

That was my immediate thought once we got the notice tbh. I'm trying to keep that in mind while we anxiously await for the letter to arrive.

And yeah here's to hoping it's something mundane! Hopefully we can just laugh about this in a few weeks after the initial stressing out about it goes away, haha. Thanks!

  11. Sorry to hear about the RFE! But it does mean they're looking at your case, and as others have said, usually a quick approval after they receive your response. Your proof of relationship/having met sounds fine, as long as it proved that you visited each other during the last two years. We sent boarding passes, passport stamps, and photos only, but we had about 10 trips' worth of these.

FWIW, if the RFE isn't because of an incorrectly filled-out form, my money is on them asking about Tumblr being an IMB. There are a number of other threads where people have received RFEs asking for proof of non-IMB status for well-known dating sites such as EHarmony and Match.com, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if that were the case. If all these USCIS officers managed to miss 10 years worth of TV and radio commercials for Eharmony, I wouldn't expect that they know the difference between Tumblr and a shady IMB site preying on all those poor, desperate Australians just lining up to get green cards! ;)

Hope it's an easy one and you get a quick approval after :)

Honestly, from even before the start of the process I kept it in the back of my mind that they'd question the fact that we met online through Tumblr. So I wouldn't be that surprised either if that's the additional proof that they'd need. Though I wouldn't know the first thing about how to get proof that they're a non-IMB. I guess I could always email Tumblr support/customer services. It couldn't hurt at this point I'd assume while we wait and get the letter. We're trying not to stress to much about it and just hoping it's something we can easily gather and send back.

I've seen a lot of people reply back to their RFE and get an approval soon after responding so we're trying to think happy thoughts. My first thought when I got the update this morning was literally "well, at least we know they're reviewing our case" followed by a bunch of grumbles, hahaha.

Thanks for the well wishes :)

  12. OH yey... so hopefully once you fix the RFE. it will go quick. Thats the feel i get. I mean I have usually have seen ppl recieve their NOA2 a few days (3-4 days) after the visa center has recieved your RFE reply. I am just speculating... but Good luck!!!!

Fingers crossed, yeah. The frustrating part now is having to wait until the letter comes in so we know what additional evidence it is that they need. We're completely stumped about what it could possibly be.

The only things we can think of is we either filled something in incorrectly, it's related to us having met on Tumblr, or they need additional proof of our relationship. I'm real curious to see if it would be that last one because we provided so many pictures, with dates and descriptions, boarding passes, passport stamps, itineraries, Skype call logs, and personal letters we'd sent to and from the other so we're just like, uhh, what additional proof of our relationship could we possibly have left that they haven't seen. Y'know?

I didn't provide any bank statements from the time that I was in Australia with her so I went ahead and printed them out now and just highlighted the transactions that were made during that time. They're mostly just ATM withdrawls but it's something. That's the only additional thing I could think to provide that I was able to gather without having the letter yet.

For now, we wait. I'll update once we know more.

  13. Well, certainly not the notification we hoped for but at least this tells us they're at least looking at our case? Just got an update email, and checked the USCIS website, and as of today they've mailed us out an RFE. I'm not really sure what it could be for so I don't know what I need to prepare ahead of time but I'll be checking the mailbox repeatedly until we get it so that we can send out whatever it is they need ASAP.

  14. I am on the same boat is going to be a month on Thursday since I received NOA seeing everyone's fast approvals in here kind of worries me but I think if there was also something wrong they would of sent something already I guess the waiting game can get the best of you Good luck and I hope you hear something soon

We're the same. We got our NOA1 a month ago today and we're still waiting for NOA2. Who knows how they process stuff over there. Seems like a lot of early July people are still waiting.

  15. Thanks :) Next question on my timeline it says "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 14, 2016 andFebruary 17, 2016*. "

Is this correct, i know it's an estimation that could change but that seems like an awful long time. I'm just wondering what other people's experience has been.

Are you routed to the Texas Center or the California Center? Right now you have it set for the Texas Center so it's basing your timeline off of that. If you update your timeline to the correct center that your petition got routed to you should have more accurate timeline.
