I know from the FAQ that my wife can still file I-485 after her F-1 expired because we are married, and as long as she entered legally we are good. But My wife's F-1, or OPT status expired before we finished the paperwork to file I-485. On the "Current USCIS Status" and "Expires on (mm/dd/yyyy)" should we still put her as F-1 and write the expired date on the form (on Part 1)?

Sorry, posted a specific case question, so I took it off.

I am a U.S. citizen by birth. My wife and I have been married a little more than one year, and she entered as an F-1 student before I met her. We are trying to fill out Form I-485 and I am confused about what to check for Part 2: Application Type. She never was K-1 fiance status. She currently has an OPT status after graduating CC with Associates, which will expire in the next month. This is all kinds of confusing, please help. Thank you all very much!
