  1. Update!! I just got this email from my caseworker!

    Hello Ms. XXXXXX,

Mr. XXXXXXX arranged an appointment by himself via our appointment system –without having received instructions from us to do so. Applicants for fiancée visas should first receive an email from the Immigrant Visa section regarding which documents to gather and bring to the interview before scheduling the appointment. Unfortunately, we are in the process of changing the system of appointments and it is a bit confusing at this point.

At this point, Mr. XXXXXXXX can be scheduled for an interview on July 15, and he will receive an email from us shortly.

I can't believe they would change the system without telling anyone.... SO JUST FYI PARIS PEOPLE!! New system update..... I guesss......

Sorry to hear about your experience. It is really disheartening when such a thing happens after our excruciating wait. Very glad to hear that it got resolved. Thanks a bunch for sharing the email from your case worker.

My fiance will be going to the Mumbai, India Embassy soon for her interview (still at NVC). We wondering ourselves whether to go ahead and schedule the interview. There is a PDF document at the Mumbai embassy website titled "Appointment package for K visa applicant (Packet four)". It says at the very beginning that 'you should follow these instructions only after we notify you that we have received your approved I-129f from USCIS'. I guess we better follow that. But I did read somewhere on this website that K1 applicants can go ahead and schedule the interview. We will wait till we hear from the embassy.

    Goodluck to you.

  2. We have filed I-129f and have received NOA1 in Dec-2014. Since the processing times at TSC are over 200 days, last week my fiancee tried to obtain a visitor visa at the Mumbai Consulate to visit me in the US. It was denied. She showed the officer K1 packet, NOA1, her job letter, rental agreement, financial support affidavit. She clearly stated that she plans to return to India to complete K-1 formalities. None of that helped. The officer said she will have to treat my fiancee's case as "potential immigrant" hence the denial. Do not know what could we have done different.
