  1. I was able to get on my computer this morning and find it for you :)

I sent the emails in this format:

    Petitioner's Information:
    Name:
    DOB:
    Beneficiary's Information:
    Name
    DOB:
    Passport:
    DS160 Confirmation:
    Completed VAC:
    Completed Medical:
    Original Scheduled Interview:
    Case Number:
    Issue.
Your email would obviously say different things because your doing CR1. Be very specific about your issue. Explain that you booked your flight based on the original date and it is nonrefundable or transferable. Say that you are flexible and willing to go in at any during your stay in the DR but that you leave on a specific date.
    Hope this helps :)
  2. Hello! I'm so sorry you are all still waiting :( I had trouble rescheduling my interview after the embassy was closed. I sent them emails in this format and got responses within 2 business days.

    Petitioner's Information:
    Name:
    DOB:
    Beneficiary's Information:
    Name
    DOB:
    Passport:
    DS160 Confirmation:
    Completed VAC:
    Completed Medical:
    Completed Interview:
    Case Number:
    Issue.
    I hope this helps!
  3. Hi! Congratulations. The DR doesn't send any packets. Everything is online. If you completed the DS160. Go to ustraveldocs.com. Set up and account. It will explain how to pay. After you pay, you can schedule your fingerprinting and interview. You must also complete a medical exam that is set up on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions, let me know :)

  4. I just received an email from the embassy saying they are going to accommodate our case Monday or Tuesday due to the nature of our case. I called ustraveldocs as well as emailed their support (support-dominicanrepublic@ustraveldocs.com) to get the case escalated. They got back to me pretty timely. The last email I sent was Wednesday morning and I just received the response now. Hope that helps :)

  5. Thank you all for your responses. it's just frustrating because i am here and there are appointments available on Monday and Tuesday but I can't get anyone to schedule it for then even though we originally scheduled the interview by ourselves. My fiance will have no problem answering the questions, but I wanted to be there as part of our team. I'm still waiting to hear from the embassy today. Hopefully, I can get an interview next week. Thanks again.

  6. Thank you both for your responses! I'm going to stay in the country until Wednesday and see if we can get any information before then. It's good to know that other people have been approved when the fiancee went alone. My fiancee is just nervous because at VAC they told him to make sure I was present and when he went for a tourist visa, everyone was talking about how hard it is to get a spouse/fiancee visa approved without the beneficiary. Thanks again!

  7. Hi! My fiancé and I had our interview scheduled for July 7 (Tuesday). The Santo Domingo embassy was closed July 6 (Monday) and 7 due to technical issues. I called ustraveldocs on Monday when I found out the embassy was closed. They put in a request to have our interview as soon as possible as I am starting a new job and need to leave the DR by Saturday. I was told within 2 business days, I would hear from the embassy. It's been 2 days and the only thing my fiance received was an email saying they changed his date to July 28 (3 weeks away) even though ustraveldocs shows appointments available as soon as Monday.

I tried to call ustraveldocs again. One woman told me that K1's do not schedule their own interviews, another told me I had to wait for the embassy to email me back in regards to the first call I made. I explained it had been 2 days and nothing. She said to "wait." I asked both to speak to a supervisor. Both said the supervisors were too busy to take a call. I told them I would wait on hold. After 15 minutes on hold each time, I hung up.

I asked the second woman if there was anyway I could contact the embassy. She said that it was only through ustraveldocs. The embassy's website lists a phone number but only for non-visa purposes and everything in regards to visas is directed to ustraveldocs. Has anybody been in touch with the Santo Domingo embassy before? Do I have to go there personally to get someone to notice our case?

I've emailed my boss and he said I was able to miss the first few days of training to get the visa interview taken care of, but there is no way I can come back to the DR for the interview after that. The DR is a high fraud country and it is highly recommended that the petitioner (me) attends. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Hi! My fiancé and I just did our VAC and medical in Santo Domingo last Wednesday and Thursday. We stayed at a hotel right around the corner from the Consultarios de Visa called Duque de Wellington. They were very polite and helpful (even made a couple of copies I thought we may need for free). We decided to do VAC on Wednesday afternoon and medical Thursday am. (We didn't want to rush around). Register everything in her name.

My fiancé lives 3.5 hrs from SD. We arrived at 9am and were able to leave our bags in the hotel while we went to the VAC appt. We took a taxi to Galeria 360 (200 pesos each way). We got there 15 minutes before our interview time and he was done within 10 minutes.

The next morning he had the medical. He left the hotel at 5am and said there were already 15 people ahead of him in line. They give the beneficiaries a paper to fill out, so make sure she knows your US address and a phone number to reach in the U.S. He was done with the medical by 830am. They told him we can pick it up July 6. ( 11 days after medical, 1 day before our interview).

    Best of luck!!!

  9. if you call at 6:59 am EST, you'll be more likely to get through. Just sit and redial continuously. If you get a guy who says "Thanks for calling the NVC, due to high call volume...." hang up and redial right away. Keep doing it until it rings. Once it rings, you know it goes through. Follow the prompts. I had the most luck at 6:59, but I also got through at other times by continuously redialing.

  10. Hey again! Just wanted to let everyone know how speedy everything is once you get out of Texas!!! The NVC received my case last Monday, I got the number on Wednesday, and today it has arrived in the DR. We have our VAC set for Wednesday, medical on Thursday and the interview on July 7. Luckily for us, the DR allows you to schedule everything ourselves so we didn't have to wait around. I'm crossing my fingers for everyone else in this thread and in the threads from September-December as well! Thanks for all the advice and information to make this journey go as smoothly as possible.

  11. So today Finally status says Ready!!! But my fiance never received any documents, I called the embassy which is in Dominican Republic and they told me to make 2 appointments first biometric and second interview and that they would give him information about when and where to do medical when he goes for his biometrics. I go into the site and is only letting me schedule one appointment am so confused and worried. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance!!

Congratulations!!! The DR doesn't send a packet 3 (I'm assuming because there are really no addresses nor postal service here). Everything is online. Make an account on ustraveldocs. Complete the information required and fill out the DS160. Go to Banco Popular and pay the $265 fee in pesos ($11,925, i think). Go back to ustraveldocs. Sign up for your biometric appointment and interview. The medical exams are walk-ins, first come, first served. There are now 2 places to complete the exam in Santo Domingo. Here's all the info from the consulate's website: http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/iv-new_process-k1_steps.html. Best of luck!!!

  12. Hey!! Congratulations on making it this far! My fiance and I just received our NOA2 and are getting everything together for the interview now.

I've read some interview reviews here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Dominican%20Rep&page=1&dfilter=5&topic=

The most recent one for a K1 is from June 4 and is very positive. Just present your best selves to the consulate and answer everything honestly. The DR is a high fraud country so I've also seen reviews with some crazy questions on another website but nothing recently.

Best of luck and let us know how it turns out!!

  13. Hey everyone! This is my first post regarding my own petition, but I have been reading everyone's advice and struggles since I applied and am so thankful for all the insight and best practices.

I was approved tonight. It was a huge surprise but I'm so thankful that my TSC journey is over. I'm hoping for everyone else who is waiting in Texas to be approved as soon as possible.

    Good luck to everyone!
