you have to wait for the package before scheduling your interview. I would email/call or walk in and ask for the package.

My case was denied under 221g on May, today I received a letter from USCIS telling me my file has expired. I will reapply again with more evidence. Good luck to the one that are still waiting, and congrats to the one that have been approved.

once you pay the visa fee you can schedule your appointement, you will need to complete the Ds 160 form first. message me if you have any questions

Been there done that. It sucks.
You do not have to wait for 6 months to re file. Your petition will expire.
There is nothing to appeal and to try is lengthy, very expensive and a waste of time.
Either do another K1 or marry and do a CR1.
You can make an inquiry through your representative for another interview and tell them you will attend if granted, very slim chance but I have seen it
work before. If per chance they will grant another interview fly over there and hand over more relationship evidence in person and to show
support for your fiance.
That's exactly what I said to the Field Representative, if I get a 2nd interview I'll be there.

I emailed the embassy to see if I can get explanation or review, will wait for their response(doubt it). I also contacted a lawyer and they told me the CO has a complete discretion to make a determination. And my choices are to wait for a notice from USCiS to appeal or refile. Then I went to a local Congresswomen office to see if they can get an answer from the embassy before they send my file back to USCIS. I hope none of you have to go through this. This sucks.

Met only once
met thru family (CO thinks immigrant benefit)
was there enough evidences of on-going relationship?
221G should be ticked on reason of denial.
Maybe another visit & marriage once issue is addressed is better
CO is 100% wrong. There were pictures and about 400pages of message/calls. Provided everything they asked and wasn't enough I guess.

How did you get your green card and citizenship? If you got it through marriage to a US citizen whom you have subsequently divorced so you can now marry someone from your native country, that's a red flag right there.
Never been married or engaged.
-
Was anything written on your 221g or was a box check marked ?
We were denied the first time around too, it happens.
We filed another K1 and were approved.
You can get married and file a CR1.
Visit as often as you can. Consider being there for the next interview.
Best wishes.
There were no boxes marked or not marked. It just said unable to issue visa and that it will be sent back to USCIS. Then at the bottom there is a general information titled "INFORMATION FOR ALL APPLICANTS REGARDING VISA FRAUD" 3 paragraphs. This was first K1.

I sent you a message.
Thank you, will keep you posted.

Having met through a family member is a red flag. Do you have any other red flags in your relationship? Huge age difference, huge cultural difference, different religions? She doesn't speak English (you mentioned she used a translator at her interview), but do you speak her language? Not having a common language to speak is a red flag also. How many times have you met her in person and how much time have you spent together?
Most people say appealing is a waste of time. I would say find out why she was denied then get married and file for a spousal visa (IR-1/CR-1). Ethiopia is a high fraud country, so make sure you submit tons of evidence and spend a lot of time together in person before filing.
Well that's the truth, we met through a family. We are the same age, same culture, same religion. I speak the native language so no communication problem. The only thing I can think of is we met in person once and for two weeks(new job). I have to try and find out why it was denied.
How much time have you spent together
2 weeks.

My Fiancee was denied due to her being found ineligible under 221 (g). We did everything by the book, photos, text & call logs, letter of intent, evidence of support. The CO gave her the denial paper and walked away without explanations.
The question she was asked(through a translator)
How did we meet?
ans. we met through his cousin, who is also my best friend
Do you have family in USA?
ans. NO
Why are you marring someone from USA?
ans. Because I'm at the age where I like to start a family, and I met him and fell in love.
When do you plan to get married?
ans. As soon as I get there
What does SF mean(on a picture I was wearing a baseball cap with SF on it).
ans. San Francisco, that's where he lives
What could be the reason for the denial and any chance to appeal through lawyer? Or is it a just a waste of time and it's better to get married and apply for that. very disappointed and feel it was unjust decision.

UPDATE- 01/24/2015
In order to get a Police certificate/clearance from Addis Ababa, you do not need a request letter or checklist from NVC. You can just show the NOA2 to the Federal Police Forensics Office and get the clearance. It will save you 60 days of checklist.
Is the listed address updated, office near Mexico square? Phone # the same?

update for those that may be going through this in the future...I emailed the consulate again and got a reply to wait for a mail. I received package 3/4(instruction to schedule my interview and what to bring during interview) in the mail.

Can I use my USA address for mailing address for my fiancee? She doesn't have a mailing address(p.o.box) or with that cause a problem since I didn't put that on the I-129?
-
Hi friends, Progress made
I got an interview date, it's on 7th May. Good luck to every member.
Good luck.
-
thank you all for your suggestions. I'll email the embassy again for an update.

no one knows?

Where does the embassy send it? I am in the US but my fiance is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and don't have P.O.BOX address for mail. I emailed the embassy but no reply from them for three weeks. My case was sent on March 18 and it's been ready since March 24th.
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html
Should I tell my fiance to get the medical and police record done in the meantime? or any advice.

Were you able to get in touch with the embassy? I believe they have to send you the package before the interview. Email/call/walk in and ask for it.
