  1. So do you have an interview date??

I think I do? I phoned up the NVC to ask how long it takes, just as a general question (Thank goodness I have unlimited skype calls to the USA with the amount of times I hit the redial to get though) and they turned around and said "Oh you have an interview date... Oct 6 at 9pm So me goes GWAH? cos I will have to run around organizing medical and transport to melb and sydney. But when I contacted the consulate.. they were more coy and I haven't received a email from them about it.... so I think I do? but I don't have the paperwork for it? They tested my email when I phoned them and it worked.. but still Id like to know for sure.. and with enough time to get the medical done etc.

  2. I have the MOJ one, but I believe there is a separate NZ one, I have downloaded the form from the Auckland consulate, (I got the link from the reciprocal part of the state dept website) and filled most of it in, and sent a quick email off to the USATraveldocs support about the information needed for the Requesting Office, Email address for Requesting office and what my case number would be (just double checking before I email it in) then will scan it, and my passport and email it though to where they tell me (I asked if I email it right though to Auckland or to Sydney) So...... I will let you all know what happens. They may not need it and just want my MOJ one (it did as part of it, I think, ask if it was for immergration purposes)

OK now that I have rambled... now to wait for the email.. who comes first the one from the Sydney Consulate asking if I am ready... or the one from USATraveldocs to let me know what I need to know about the police clearance authorisation

  3. I got an email from the NVC about my IR1

this means they have gone though all my paperwork and are happy with it yes? and they will be sending it to the Consulate in sydney?

    Dear Sir/Madam,
All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.
The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.
The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.
    Sincerely,
    Director
    National Visa Center
  4. I am doing my DS-260 and a couple questions I am not sure what to do.

It wants to know if I have previous employment.. I say yes.. it wants to know what jobs I have done in the past 10 years.. but I have been doing what I am doing now for the past 10 years. so I cant answer that one properly. Do I put in the job I had beforehand.. or do I just tick no

and second question is.. for the question about if I have been issued a US visa would the ESTA count? or do I just tick no?

thanks to you all for the help.

  5. We have had my application go though to the NVC, and she has received the AOS bill, which the money has been sent to her, so that she can pay it electronically. However, It didn't come with the IV Processing fee bill, which I thought would be included, so we could pay them all at the same time, as I have seen in the instructions.

But when I go to the US embassy website for Canberra, they talk about the IV processing fee, (US$325) as being payable at Sydney, on the day of the interview (I think thats what it all means) (Web page here) So does that mean when the AOS is paid, I will then receive the email or letter from the consulate telling me that I can start on the DS-260, and then pay for it on the day of my interview?

I haven't found much information about this, Is this something that US and Australia have organised, where the beneficiary can pay at the consulate or am I totally confusing things?
