  1. I received my EAD approval today (this evening)! I was starting to think they forgot about me since a month had passed and my case hadn't even been touched.

Two questions I'm hoping you can help me with:

    1. Does anyone know how long on average it usually takes to receive the card? (I'm sure it's different for everyone - just trying to get an idea as to when I should/can expect it)

    AND

    2. Can I start applying for jobs now or should I wait for the card to arrive?

    Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks VJ Members

I was able to figure out question 1 by looking at others timelines so I do not need a response for that one.

    Hi

First CONGRATS!!! my husband recieved his card 2 days after email notice..Hope this helps..

    Michelle

  2. Congrats! Must be nice.. we still can't even see our EAD online and were 14 days ahead of you... (sigh)

I think the USCIS god is making me pay for getting my I-129F approved in 13 days last year (unbelieveable fast, others were waiting 90 plus days)..

At least we are together, but being able to work would be nice!

Sorry to hear this..Hopefully you will hear something very very soon..His was approved on Friday and I got 3 emails about the approval today and I even checked the USCIS website over the weekend and nothing was there..Keeping my fingers crossed for you and everyone else waiting..

made me loose my advantage of behind # 2 in first line

had to dump my bag in garbage bin on the bld rene levesque.

cos she said if it was left on street it was security risk

    ###### it just a small fabric bag.

anyhow after getting back in .Red pulled a flanking move ,

sat on the bloody front row and was # 2 in elevator so got c2

asked the interviewer if it was possible to expedite my visa today on family compassion .

because I do want to get to sioux falls asap to see 'PEETE" AND HIS LOVELY DAUGHTER

jULES is amazed that there was little questioning, also told her that i wore usa soccer shirt

  5. I'm from BC so don't know if the liquor stores out there are regulated by the provincial government or if they're privatized. (Regulated by the province means that there are "liquor stores" and those are the only place you can buy alcohol...privatized means that it's saleable at grocery stores etc.) If it's regulated you'll be able to find many liquor stores all over the place and chances are most of them will carry the cider.

    I found the province's website: http://www.lcbo.com/storesearch/index.shtml

That one gives the store locator, so if you know the neighbourhoods you should be able to find one near where you're going.

This gave the results that it is carried by the Liquor Control Board:

http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo-ear/ProductResultsController (I don't know if it will return my results...I put in "growers cider" in the product search and it came back with the Granny Smith and its price).

    Hope that helps!

Thank you so very much.....Yes it helps alot

  8. I am not sure what you mean? will he have his passport stamped with the visa on it? cause he will need that to get through.

you can't activate the visa unless you actually have the visa which will be in the passport

I think Michelle wants to know what to tell the border people about her husband's stuff after they get the visa. It seems she's just trying to do some planning for when they cross the border.

Sorry, Michelle... don't know the answer for this.

Yes this is what I was meaning...I know he needs the passport with the visa in it..Zyggy did answer my question. And thank you Buttons on which Bridge to cross. Montreal said today that they mailed the passport with the visa in it this morning..

  9. Hi, Everyone

We haven't recieved my husband's passport back yet but I was wondering If someone could please advise

about what to tell them at the border when crossing to activate the visa..My husband has to finish up his contact job here in Toronto..what can he tell them about his belongings when crossing over the first time?

Do we make a list of the stuff and tell them it is to follow at a later time? Also which crossing is better the Peace Bridge, Kingston Lewiston Bridge, or the Rainbow Bridge? Thank you in advance..

    Michelle

  10. He got the visa right?

That is true, what I was meaning, was I have heard that even after you get your visa that immigration will make surprise visits to your home and stuff to see if you are really on the up and up..Has anyone ever heard of this?

    Michelle

  11. Congratulations, Michelle!

Blaine told me that he met you guys - I never told him what my login was here, so it's funny that he had no idea what you were talking about! I'm glad you all made it through easily - thanks for being so nice to my husband this morning!

  12. Michelle

well if you would have married pakistani that interview would seemed like a cake walk.

me and my husband dont have a big age diffrence just a few years. we have been grilled 2 hours.

me in dallas < USICS >. he got grilled in Pakistan. plus!! the embassy showed up at my husbands parents house and interviewed his family extensively on 2 random days. they also went door to do asking the neighbours about us. I still feel embarrassed over our ordeal. we still wait 1 1/2 years later and still no dayum visa. we are still waiting on AP.

OMG do you think they are going to do this to us?????? I wouldn't be surprised..

    Michelle

  13. Let me first say sorry this is going ot be a long post..Everything went well with my husbands interview Friday till the interview.. when we went into the room I was immeditly told to go out and wait she wanted to interview my husband alone. I was like :help: So about 20 minutes later she paged me to come into the room and then told my husband to leave she grilled me about everything coming and going. How did we meet, where did we meet, why did I choose him, did I meet his mother, what kind of music did he like, what did we have in common, After answering all of this she wants proof  So I give her about 50 pics. movie stubs from the past 2 1/2 years. insurance policies, bank accounts. she then leaves me in the room for about 15 minutes then comes back in and asks what are we going to do when my husband comes to the US I told her I was getting ready to start a business she ask what kind I tell her and she ask why was I going to start it I tell her a woman owned business has alot of benifits to it..She asks how do you know this I tell her I read and research alot on the internet. She then ask did you read and research MARRIAGE FRAUD as well? :o

I was like what are you talking now? She said I don't believe this is a real Marriage. I said what basis do you have for this accusation? She said you are 10 years older the him. I said NO I am not 10 years older then him I am 8 1/2 years older then him  she yelled EXCUSE ME..and you also have been married and divorced before..now I am thinking OK and since whaen is this a crime  She said I know this is a FRAUDULENT MARRIAGE because your husbands culture (Indian) does not allow them to marry older divorced woman.. Again I am thinking two things at this point does she mean if I was younger and divorced or maybe if I was younger and married without divorce then he would be allowed to marry me but I didn't go there. But she is going to let him have his VISA because she doesn't have enough proof of FRAUDULENT but she just knows the MARRIAGE is. She just can't prove it....By this point she is :ranting: She then tells me to bring my husband back in the room..She then tells him what she thinks..My poor hubby doesn't have a clue what she is talking about..So he ask her if you think this then tell me what I can do so you won't think this? I am thinking ok Andy like she is going to tell you :secret: I felt like :bonk: this B*tch..I guess she saw our case file had her own thoughts thinks MARRIAGE FRAUD here I will prove it and get a BIG FAT PROMOTION  Well guess what? Come Monday morning this B*tch is back on her KNEES at work  Her HALLUCINATIONS didn't get her anywhere..

CALLING ALL OLDER DIVORCED LADIES OUT THERE STAY WAY FROM INDIAN MEN IF YOU DONT YOU ARE A FRAUD  Bottom line HUBBY IS COMING HOME :dance:
