  1. Hey guys, So, my wife is Iranian. We met in Istanbul and we got married in February 2013 and I filed for immigration visa for her in December 2013. It's been more than 2 years now and about 2 months ago we've been notified by NVC that the paperwork review was done and our case is sent to US embassy in Ankara and we should wait for an interview to be scheduled. What I'd like to know is how long would we have to wait for the interview to be scheduled? I talked to an attorney and she told me that we shouldn't waste time and should contact the embassy and make an appointment. But the mail from the NVC said we have to wait for the embassy to make the appointment for the interview. We are confused now. What are we supposed to do? Is 2 years of waiting a usual period for a Green Card?

Go to www.ais.usvisa and register and make an appointment as soon as possible make sure you click on the correct type of lease appointment trust me you don't do it now it'll take forever like what happened to us

  2. Thanks for the helpful information. Has your wife adjusted to living in the US? Any complaints or difficulties in her adjustment? I ask because my fiances life in Iran is quite good and I worry how he will react to how hard we work here compared to Iran. I am glad to hear you got through with no issues. Did you have a list of items to complete on RFE? It seems like there was a gap of time you waited .

  3. You have social security card you are good to go. I would however not get discouraged about work. I suggest you do independent work like acting extras or companies that do daily work because it wioll expose you to different opportunities and make money and you wil be in control of your income not just job. I suggest la casting for extras you can book yourself on movies and make about $90-300 per day. Try as soon as possible to start your own business like swap meet or? cuz there is opportunity and hourly wage in America is very low. After all you came to America to succeed.

  4. My fiancé is from Iran March 17 sent to lewisville Texas they received next day at noon. I double checked everything. Does anyone know about how many tax returns they need someone who has gotten to that point. I want to be prepared since I own my own business
