To expand a little: you can work because you are never out of status during the process. Even if your letter expires before you are approved, you are still a legal permanent resident and entitled to work, etc.. The letter (or subsequent I551 stamp(s)) provide proof of your status, but the status itself doesn't change unless you are actually denied at the end of all this (which is highly unlikely.)

    Thank you for your time

  2. Hi all,

My son's  birth certificate it's not my marriage last name its on my maiden name. He was born after we got married. Now I don't know if this will cause us and him in the future.Should I change it to my marriage last name? now I'm thinking if I should  make copies and include my sons birth certificate to my roc  application without any problems. Pls help

The 'valid only..' text will get removed once you have your green card. Now it means you can use your SSN for work only accompanied with a valid work authorization.

Hi I just read this and I have no idea that I have to return to SSN office after getting 2 year GC. I'm about to send off my ROC this month. Am I in trouble?

This won't affect your ROC at all.

You need to talk to your daughter about why she's skipping school, but USCIS won't care at all.

Thank you for taking your time of my post.  My concern is she will be removing conditions too with me. She's 6yrs old. Do I need to make a statement about her truancy with the form? I'm just really worried if it's count as violating of law or minor crime. It was her 1st truancy from her school we didn't went to court or anything. Most of the time we had to take her out minutes early for dentist visits or can't picked her up their out time due to some inconvenients. I don't really wanna hire lawyer if I don't have to. Thank you

  5. Hi all, I hope I'm on the right forum to ask this question. I'm just so worried right now :(. I'm preparing our ROC to send off next month. But last year we got a letter saying Truancy from my daughter school. I don't know if it will affect our application. I've been reading searching about this. Pls help.

  6. Hi all..  In a couple of months I'll be removing conditions. My worry is since I got my greencard we've moved twice and we didn't update to uscis our first address. We lived there 9months. We have no idea before that this matter. Our new address its in the same city and we updated it to uscis. Do u think guys that will have issues here? I'm really starting to panic

  7. Thanks Dave for such a big help

Do I have to sign up twice for me and for daughter to update our address online?

Where can I print that form I-865 for my husband to fill up for? sorry for too much asking

Sample size of one here...I forgot you had to update the residence address and submitted ours well past the deadline, at the same time I sent the paperwork for my wife's 10 yr GC. No issues with either.

  8. It's been a while since the last time I've posted my questions here and I appreciated y'all of all the answered I've gotten from here. The problem I have is I didn't know until today that we have to update our address to USCIS even if you got green card to make my story short Me and daughter got our green card last year of July we moved twice in same zip code what my understanding on my research today that u could get in trouble possible losing residency when you failed to update the address! Pls help me if I'm too late to update our address and would I get in trouble for updating our address too late it's been almost a year since.. I'm so worried cuz next year is our time to file for 10 year green card

    I appreciate y'all
