  1. Interesting. I don't recall seeing my status entering a 'new card produced' state, but that phase could have happened between the 5-10 times a day I check USCIS... lol.. or perhaps I haven't entered that stage yet, I'm really not too sure and thought there might be a particular order of notifications. Gotta love how this process keeps you guessing!

    You will get it soon. They 2-day shipped my wife's card and it came today.

  2. It's not unheard of, but it's not super common. I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as it gets there it's all good :D

    I called and they said to come in anyways. I guess it does make a difference. One is for EAD and one is for AOS. But they also said sometimes they do make clerical errors and re-send appointments. So if anyone gets a second biometric letter with the SAME TYPE (check upper left corner of 797C form), then you don't have to come in. :-)

  3. Did you get all your vaccinations at the panel physician clinic?

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/

    We went to the CS. She referred us to a 3rd party to do all three shots. Shots were $160 and CS visit was $200. Reading the forums, looks like some people paid less for everything and some paid more (she has health insurance too but they didn't want to accept it, even though vaccs are supposed to be free under my plan).

  4. How fast did it go? Did you arrive early or on time? Where there many people there?

    Appointment was at 9am. We were a little bit early and she got us in immediately. It literally took 2 minutes. Fingerprints scanned and uploaded to their database. If your appointment is for Day X, and you go in on Day Y -- they will sit you in a corner and take you in after everyone else has been helped. So, depending on your office's day, it is possible to get biometrics done before your appointment.

  5. Happy to know that we got our first NOA on 12/13/15, papers were sent out on 12/05/15. Updated the signature and timeline! We also moved and had to do an AR-11 online (address change) for all the forms.

    Did any of you include marriage and relationship evidence besides the marriage certificate?

    Cause I didn't, I figured just send the paper work, that's what the interview is for.

    I included a picture, copy of joint bank account and copy of joint insurance (medical, dental and vision). Hopefully this will suffice.

  6. As a note to everyone, many of the AOS forms had been updated recently. I had filled out the AOS forms while my guy was still overseas (I like to be prepared... :luv: ) and I had to revise them. I'm glad I was reading the October 2015 filer thread because some received RFE's for the older forms.

    The revised forms are:

    • Form I-485 (revised October 5, 2015) - Apply to Adjust Status (AOS to GC)
    • Form I-765 (revised November 4, 2015) - Apply for Employment Authorization (EAD)
    • Form I-864 (revised July 2, 2015) - Affidavit of Support
    • Form I-693 (revised March 30, 2015) - Civil surgeon medical report
    • Form G-325A (revised June 1, 2015) - Biographic information

    The form I-131 (AP) and Form G-1145 (e-notification) have not been revised.

    Do you know off-hand if there was a significant revision between the two? Dang, so Dec Filers will get a RFE if used forms from last month?

  7. After we get married in California, the marriage license takes about 6-8 weeks before it will get mailed out to us. My questions is how are we suppose to file for AOS before the 90 days is up without that marriage license? Do we have to wait to get the marriage license in hand before we can file? How long did other people have to wait for their ML? Any information will be good! Thank you!

    In Los Angeles County, we got ours right away.

  8. Interesting. We got married on a Saturday and walked into the city hall Monday night and just got certified copies there. Nobody ever sent us anything. hm. different state I guess!

    I believe it is. It is on the visa, starts with a k and then has a few numbers afterwards. It is the same number used when checking in for a flight to come to the US? You know how they ask for visa and visa number? That is the one :-)

    Same here. Married my wife, had to wait a week then went back to grab all the original certified ones in-person.

  9. Wife came here on a B2 visa, fell in love and got married. Now she is staying here while we are waiting for the AOS process.

    She got offered a PT retail job but not sure if she should take it yet since we don't have a TIN or SSN (green card).

    The owner of the store said she can apply for a TIN. I looked at the IRS website and it looks like she can since she doesn't have a SSN and she is a spouse of a USC (me).

    Does anyone have experience it this or will this affect her status?

    TL:DR; will working with a TIN affect our process?

  10. You didn't file taxes 'married filing jointly' right? Since she's not working, she doesn't need to complete an I-864A. Also, they only consider foreign income if it will continue after immigrating.

    Have you considered the I-864EZ? It may be applicable in your case and it's a shorter form.

    That is correct. Married in August 2015, filed in April 2015 as "single". She isn't working yet because we are waiting for her green card/work permit. She has no foreign income anymore.

    After doing some Googling and comparing, looks like I can do the I-864EZ instead.

    "Eligibility
    Form I-864 EZ can be used only if ALL following conditions apply:
    You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;
    The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on the Form I-130 petition;
    This can be true in all immediate relative petitions. This may be true in some preference-based categories if there are no dependents who are immigrating with or within 6 months of the sponsored immigrant.
    The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).
    Ineligibility
    You are not eligible for Form I-864EZ if any of the following conditions apply:
    The relative you are sponsoring is not the only person immigrating based upon the underlying visa petition; In other words, there are accompanying dependent (or derivative) family members;
    You filed or are filing a Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker, for the immigrant you are sponsoring;
    You are a joint sponsor;
    You are a "substitute sponsor" filing because the original I-130 petitioner has died;
    The income you will be using to qualify comes from business."
