  1. Hello everyone,

We filed a single I-751 for my wife and step daughter (listed her as dependent on form) in October and we were approved in February.  We just received my wife's card this week. We have not received my step daughters card. I know it's super early to worry about this but I figured they'd send them (cards) together.

Was I supposed to file a separate I-751 for my step daughter? AFAIK we only received one receipt number. Was my SD supposed to have a separate number? I paid the extra fee for my SD included in the packet I-751 sent. I put a screenshot of the area on the I-751 that I filled out for my SD. I put her name, DOB, A#, and answered "Yes" to questions 4 and 5.

We feel blessed to have been approved, I just want to confirm I didn't mess anything up. No additional interview or biometric appointment was needed apparently. Thanks everyone.

Just as stated before you will write down married name since she will be married when you file AOS.  According to your timeline if you are planning on getting married in a week you will void the K1 VISA, because your fiance hasn't  have an interview at the consulate. Plus, she is not in the USA.

Fiance was denied at the first interview circa 2015. Had to complete a waiver which was subsequently approved fifteen months later Jan 2018. She entered legally via k1 June 13 2018 and we got married August 28 2018. I just updated my timeline to reflect this.

You can send in the paperwork for the AOS anytime after you get married, but you HAVE to get married BEFORE the 90 day window. Your wife will then be deportable after the 90 day window but in reality this NEVER HAPPENS SO DON'T WORRY. So please stop worrying because you will be fine.

Thanks for the info. Just for clarification, the future wife will not be deportable as long as we marry with the 90 days? While we wait for AOS to happen is she still legal?

  4. Hello everyone. I am planning on marrying my K1 fiance around day 85+- of the maximum 90 day requirement. My question is...how long after I marry do I have to complete and mail out the AOS paperwork? Is it also due on or before the 90 days? Supporting evidence like joint accounts, copies, pictures and just filling out docs is going to happen as soon as we get married but I'm afraid of the time crunch.
