  1. I am in the process of filing for a K-1 visa for my fiancee who lives in Peru, I will be mailing everything out on Tuesday. I would love it if I would be able to go to Peru for the next 6 months while we wait for the visa to come through, so my question is this, is there any way that anyone else has tried to make money in Peru, as a US citizen that doesn't know much Spanish? And also is it really a good idea for me to try to be there while I wait, because if I go there and work then I won't have any insurance or any good income in the US so it will be hard for me to show good support on the affidavit of support form when the time comes to fill that out. Also we would have the headache of finding a place to live and finding another job before moving back to the US. So if anyone has any advice I would like to hear your opinions thanks

  2. Disclose all prior visa apps, marriages, child support by petitioner (if applicable)

Fiancee should know your kids names (if U have any) place of employment, any

arrest (with details) this helps to prove bonafide relationship along with evidences

pics, boarding passes, hotels reciepts. ph. call & email transcripts & snail mails

envelope proving you seen each other the last 2 yrs & continuation of relationship,

these are whats expected in all embassy

Well neither of us have kids or have never been in trouble with the law. The pics, emails, and chats won't be a problem, now I didn't save the boarding pass from my flight to Lima, but I do have it from the flight back to the states, as well as my passport dates. Also I will be traveling back there in August for our engagement party, and I highly doubt that our interview will be before that time, so I will have those boarding passes, as well as a more current passport stamp, and more current pics. I won't have any hotel receipts because we won't be traveling far and I will stay with her family like last time.

I was wondering also if my presence will be requested at the interview, I would love to be there and if it works out that I can thats great but I was wondering if its common for them to request me or if it really doesn't matter?

  3. My fiancee is from Peru and I am filing now for a K1 visa, I'm just about to send in the 129F. But I thought that it would be good to prepare ourselves for the interview and anything else they might throw at us. So my question is this, is there anyone out there that has gone through the embassy in Lima and if there;s any advice you can give me on how the interviews went, questions they asked, things they looked for, that sort of thing. Thanks

  4. Thank you for all your advice everyone, it's much appreciated. I had another question too. In the instructions for filling the I-129F they say that a letter from you and(or) your fiancee stating that you both met on certain dates, I was wondering if anyone has done that, and how they wrote it out? I was thinking something like your typical "I <your name here> hereby state........" type letters. If it would even make a difference, I'm not sure.

  5. I am filing for a K1 for my Fiancee in Peru, I am going through the part where I have to show proof of meeting in the last 2 years. I have my passport stamps which are readable, and I have credit card statements showing I was in Peru, I also have plenty of pics showing us together, some of which are us when we visited Machupicchu and Cusco. Now we were going to take a trip to Roatan Honduras, I had bought the tickets and everything, so I have the document from avianca with our names on them, but the only problem is we didn't end up taking the trip because she got sick. So my question is, will these documents even help if we never took the trip? Thanks

  6. Fiance address really don't matter.

My girl gave me some long Philippines Address, I just shorten it so it fit.

Look at it this way, many people around the world live in places with no real address.......

I just looked at your timeline and I'm amazed, you got the K-1 back in 145 days when most people are waiting 200 or more, any idea why?

  7. Yes we have met in person, but wouldn't they be a little suspicious as to how i knew this woman before I traveled to visit her?

I also found out that the website I used does not just have american men on it, it has men from all over the world, even peru. So that mean they are not an IMB right?

  8. Ok, Ive been doing more reading about this and I see different responses from different people. And some people say just list it, it can't hurt, but my problem is that if I say "yes" to the IMB question I will then have to provide a signed written consent form from the IMB authorizing the release of my fiancée's information. She never signed anything, she never even payed for the site, so I world say that rosebrides is not an IMB but I fear that is if I say no to the IMB question then when I explain how we met and tell them we met on a dating website and I tell them which site in particular it may cause problems.

  9. I work as an independent distributor for an internet product brokerage company, I just started there and haven't gotten payed yet but will in the future. So I have two questions

    1. Do I list it as employment history even though I haven't been payed yet?

    2. What do I put down as an address? I do my work from home on the internet, but the main company has its headquarters in Greensboro North Carolina, but I don't do any work there and have never even been there.

  10. Ok, Sorry I'm still a little confused. The website I used had primarily international women, but I did see american women on there too, and I know my fiancé said that there were men from other countries on there not just the US. Also you could join the website for free, I only chose to pay because I wanted use of some features that was not available unless you payed, my fiancé however decided not to pay. So does that constitute as an IMB?
