  1. I double checked just now and this is what I-864 is.......

What Is the Purpose of Form I-864A?

Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member, is an attachment to Form I-864, Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA. A separate Form I-864A must be used for each household member whose income and/or assets are being used by a sponsor to qualify. Each Form I-864A is completed and signed by two individuals: a sponsor who is completing Form I-864 and a household member who is promising to make his or her income and/or assets available to the sponsor to help support the sponsored immigrants.

    I also googled this website........http://blogs.usembassy.gov/philippines/i-864-and-i-864a-iv/

Since it's very clearly specified that the form is only for a household member, it really is confusing why the consulate would ask that you have one for a non-household member. Did you submit the I-864A for the household member that is one of the two sponsors?

Yes, It's too confusing. And yes, the other household member submitted I-864A.

Thanks for the reply, I am too frustrated =(

  2. Hello Everyone,

I have two co-sponsors, one of which is my household member and the other one is not.

My wife had an interview yesterday at Islamabad, Pakistan, and they told her that we need to submit i864a for the sponsor that is not my household member and between his wife. I don't understand what this mean, please help me clarify, I called them and they are not a bit helpful, I even emailed them! Please, I need guidance quick.

    Sincerely

  3. Beneficiary's address can be updated when she fills out the DS260.

I have seen this solution in another forum also and I have also seen people suggest to email them with a specific format.

A question regarding this. I am sending I-864 as of now, I should just write the new address of the beneficiary in I-864 as well as DS-260 right? Or do I need to also send them an email?

    Thanks

  4. Hi,

I am at the step where I have to AOS. I am applying for my spouse who lives in Pakistan. I do not income in my income tax, I am a student in my final year of becoming a Computer Scientist at a good university and will be getting a good job after I am done graduating (in a few months...). I have a friend who agrees to be the joint-sponsor and he makes very well money to show that he can support. I want to make sure a few things regarding this:

    1. Can a friend of mine become the joint-sponsor?
    2. Do we both fill I-864 only and no other documents?
    3. What do I need from him?
    4. Can I write a separate letter stating something like I am most likely to get a job as soon as I graduate?

    5. And I am not completely sure, do I or my friend need to fill I-864A?

    6. And if I need to know anything else, please tell me.

Please If you know, enlighten me and I know that some of this info can be found in the Gov's website but I want to know from you fellows too (please don't mind, as this is a very frustrating and a heart throbbing situation for me and my spouse).

    Thanks very much.

    Sincerely

  5. Hi all,
I have a question,I applied for my spouse who lives in Pakistan and I am a US Citizen, and the stage of our application says that: "... we sent your case, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXXXXX, to the Department of State for visa processing. Please visit our website for general information on Consular Processing. ..."
I want to know that if the beneficiary changes the address, then ho long does it take to actually get it changed? and how long does the government take to make the change final?

Please guide me, I am pretty confused.

    Thanks very much

  6. NVC communication is all by email. Call them and make sure they have correct email addresses on file for both petitioner and beneficiary. The Case Complete and Interview Letter we received from NVC were all by email and were sent to all email addresses we had put on their file.

If this is true, then it may be a relief, don't have to worry about if I missed the mailman or not. And like j&ana mentioned above, I need to call. So, just making sure, do I call this number: (603) 334-0700?

    Thanks

  7. Do not wait for letter from NVC. After a couple weeks start calling NVC to see if they have your case. Then call again for case number. You will be calling NVC more then you did the USCIS. my wife got a letter 2 months after NVC had our case. we had already done a lot of steps in the process if we would of waited for the letter we would wasted a lot of extra time

wait.... So Should I start calling at this number: (603) 334-0700. Because I can never get this number to ring correctly. Or is there any other number?

    Thanks

  8. After receipt of case from USCIS, NVC usually takes two months appx. to contact petitioner and beneficiary both via e mail as well as postal services. They however send it through regular mail (not courier) so there are chances of missing it but petitioner will definitely receive email. if you do not receive letter from NVC past 60 days you can contact them over telephone.

So they will mail the petitioner something like that a mail has been sent to the beneficiary?

    Thanks

  9. I am so genuinely happy for you. I have been stuck at nebraska for 7 mos. pending security checks. I am glad it is moving along for some people.

    Blessings,

    UnaMexicana

just an FYI, call them, they will report it and try to have it pick up the pace, because 5 months is the average and I talked to them in the last week of Feb,2015, they said that they were currently working on August 16, 2014's applications.

Good luck to you, I know it is very worrisome.

  10. Hi,
I am a U.S Citizen and applied i-130 for my spouse, who is in Pakistan. After about 5 months, the i-130 was approved and I just received my NOA2. It says that they have sent the "... Original visa petition to the NVC...". Also it says that "The NVC will contact the person for whom you are petitioning (beneficiary) concerning further immigrant visa processing steps."

I want to know that will they mail a letter to the beneficiary? and will they require the beneficiary to sign at receiving the letter by showing their id card? Or will they only require the signature of the recipient? Or will they just leave the letter in the mail?

Please if you fellows have received this letter, then how did you receive it? If you have experience with the above questions, please share it and take away my worries. I am asking because then the beneficiary will wait in the house when it is time for the mail to come, otherwise, the beneficiary can feel safe thinking that she will pick it up from the mailbox.

    Thanks
