  1. Hi everyone,

I have used this site a lot for all of my K1 needs and it has been an absolute god send and I thank everyone that gives up their time to help give advice on here. I have a question that to me seems complicated but is probably something very simple to those of you in the know.

I had my K1 interview 12th August and my case went into AP on the 18th and thats how it has stayed. I know this isn't a long time but I saw others with interviews after me getting their visas already so I just started to get a little concerned.

The thing that worries me is that I filled out 2 ds-160's. I completed one and then filled out the readiness form and sent it. Then, after reading on here I realised I had made several mistakes. I continued reading and found out that I could fill out a new form so that is what I did, mindful of the fact that the readiness form had been submitted with the first 'AA' confirmation number. A week or so before the interview I received an email saying saying that my visa application (The first one!) was being processed. I immediately started to panic but then a couple of hours later the same email confirmation came through for the new one so I relaxed and assumed they realised what I had done.

I took the all good and correct form to the interview and everything went extremely well, I was approved and I began waiting impatiently for my visa to be issued. Yesterday I read that you can check the status of your visa using the non-immigrant drop down and the AA confirmation no. on the ds-160. For a laugh I decided to do this. When I put in the new corrected ds-160 no. it came up with 'no status' and to contact the embassy. So I tried entering the old no. and it came up with the AP screen exactly the same as if I had entered my LND no. with the immigrant drop down.

Is it possible that they could have used the old one by mistake and found problems with the mistakes I made? Should I try and contact them to explain what has happened? I don't possess any of the usual criteria for an extended AP unless having been married before is one, but other than that I have no idea.

I really appreciate any help that you could give on this matter.
