  1. I'm a bit confused as to when my wife's waiting period begins. She initially came on a fiance K1 visa, we got married August 18, 2015 in front of a judge. Her green card is dated June 27, 2016. So when does the clock start? From when we were married or when she received the green card? Her green card expires in 2018 (in two years) so I assumed it was from the date we were married.

  2. So I'm a bit confused about what to do. I recently graduated medical school and will be beginning residency in the next few weeks. So, I have not been working for the past couple of weeks because of school. My father is willing to fill out an I-134 to prove my fiance will not become a public charge. He has the income and assets, so it should not be a problem. But the question I have is regarding myself. As the petitioner, is it correct that I must also submit an I-134? If yes, what would I do about proof of income? I will be beginning work in the next few weeks.

  3. I know of long time CSC employee who is a member of another visa-focused message board. She claims the workload shift will only cause TSC to move along quicker and then, ultimately, CSC will be the snail's pace processing center. So in other words, as many of you have already said, it never truly balances out. The problem just switches to another service center.

Yes. How stupid is this? You would think they would fix the underlying cause, but they never do. Balance the freakin workload! Split the states more equally. It's not that hard.

  4. PPPFFFTTTT - yeah! (http://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria) You make your own expedite request to the USCIS directly. Go ahead and add both humanitarian and extreme emergent situation to your request and find articles, such as from the UN or other international (and somewhat neutral) sources. It may still take some time, but it may shave off some months.

(Sorry, OP, I know this was about your question. We take advice and ideas from wherever we can get them, huh?)

Thanks for the advice. I'll give them a call and see if they actually help.

  5. I feel your pain. Probably more so. My fiancee is stuck in Syria. In a town that is torn apart by civil war. I had to fly to Turkey and she had to get to Turkey somehow just to see each other. What makes matters worse? I filed I-129F on March 10. Seeing the USCIS announcement about the routing of all petitions to CSC one week after we sent in our packet upset her and me to no end.

I fear for her life everyday and here I am wondering what I can do. Just sit here and hope nothing happens to her.
