This is my main concern right now. I am out of status since Dec 2013. We are filing AOS next month. And obviously my medical exam ( I was on K1 visa ) is already expired, since they said it's only valid within a year. I am really confused wether to submit AOS forms with I-693 or just wait til they RFE'd me. Can you give me more details on your personal experience? Thank you.

    see my time line

Oct 20th,2016 - in the Mail a Notice to Applicant letter " A Completed and signed I-693 was not submitted ",Submit a valid,

completed and signed I-693 at a later date( at Interviw or if no interview you will receive a RFE for the form )

  3. Hello!

I had my interview yesterday in San Diego. It was scheduled for 10 am and the officer called us around 10.30 am

She was nice, she made a lot of question about my previous marriage and about our plans for the future. She wanted to see evidences that we lived together and bills under both names.

Then I showed the album with the pictures and I went through almost all of them explaining where we were and with whom

After this she made me sign a paper saying that I have been granted conditional permanent residence and how to remove the conditional status after 2 years.

Then she said I should expect my green card in about 2 to 3 weeks

The interview was about 40 minutes long.

I was expecting my online status to change....but it is still on Interview scheduled.....it is this a bad sign??? because I read that for most of the people the status changes right away... :(

    first of all congratulations :joy:

don't worry about the update. my interview was on 12/01 got approved on the spot and i didn't get a n update till 12/05

  4. Received Social Security in mail 12/08/2016 after 1 week from applying.

    Texas ID card applying 12/14/2016

    Woot Woot, :dancing: Congratulations.

    hi there,

thank you , am glad you got your SSC and hope your id wont take to long i applied for my id on 11/23 and still don't have my id, altho i have my green card. the BMV is notoriously slow with documents, well at least in my experience.

green card took 7 days from approval to in hand

    state id : 11/23 ------ still waiting

wish you good luck and a speedy green card

  5. Thank you for all the details. I just got the tracking# from USCIS so I can track the delivery from USPS now:) It is delivered from Origin and estimated to arrive on next Monday.

your welcome and that's cool, the other info is there in case usps website is down before Monday.

where are you at ? when did yours get picked up ? it may not take that long. mine was scheduled to be delivered on Saturday but i got it today, 1 day after it was picked up

  6. Congrats! I noticed in your profile on Dec7, you got text from myUSPS card was picked up.. wondering how could you check on this? There is no tracking# from USCIS online checking system..

Dec. 7th 2016 - Update on my Green Card, Text from MyUSPS " Card was Picked up", expected delivery date 12/10

i meant to write this in my last post but it wouldnt let me edit my post

also, sometimes the usps website may be down for maintenance or whatnot, then you can go to www.aftership.com sign up and see and get notifications from there, its best to sign up for usps first, once you have the first notification for your EAD/AP card or Green card( you will know if its send from kansas MO ), you need to copy the tracking number from the USPS then go to aftership paste the tracking number and it will be in there. that way if USPS is down you still get notified from aftership. thats what i did

  7. Congrats! I noticed in your profile on Dec7, you got text from myUSPS card was picked up.. wondering how could you check on this? There is no tracking# from USCIS online checking system..

Dec. 7th 2016 - Update on my Green Card, Text from MyUSPS " Card was Picked up", expected delivery date 12/10

    thank you,

i signed up on USPS checked notifications for email and texts. once uscis mail`s you a card and usps picks it up you will be notified, and you will be notified by usps every time you card gets scanned in or out until delivery

  8. Congratulations! Do you know how log it takes from "card is in process" to mailed?

    thank you

I am not really sure My status went from approved to card was mailed, mine never said card in production. although a day after my interview 12/02 i had to call uscis tier 2 ( because of an issue i had ) and he said my card was already in production. on 12/6 i had a info pass and the IO told me my card was at the printer and today i received my card in the mail. ( see my timeline )

  9. Sorry, I don't know can i update my timeline. Here is the timeline.

    Timeline:

    November 21- Cashed check

November 21- emails and messages from USCIS receipt

December 3- NOA - Biometrics schedule for December 14 @ 11 am. Notice was sent on November 26, 2016

December 5- went to biometrics appointment at 1:10

December 6- request expedite my process under financial lost

December 6- I-485 change status as: "Request for Initial Evidence Was Mailed"

    ok

well it could be anything, something that you forgot to fill out, or signed. but more and likely it is for form I-864 affidavit of the support. i had an RFIE because i send in form I-864w ( because i am exempt ) but they didn't like/except it so i had to send in form I-864 with a joint sponsor. Most people get the rfe on the affidavit of support. i am not saying thats your case but it could. wait until you get your letter in the mail ,you can let us know what it says

  10. Okay let us know how it went! Yes I have my interview next Monday, I'm getting kinda nervous because our income has changed. My husband was active duty military but he's now going to school full-time. We're still getting our benefits like housing allowance, so I've added proof of this 'income' to my map, as well as proof that I have a fulltime job now.

you ll be fine. your working to now, which helps.it ll all come out in the wash...lol

i went to my infopass today and everything's fine, the officer just told me they have all my aliases and it doesn't matter with my current name or current date, on the form i added that my spouse filed a petition for my new permanent residence card. she said that means they will see that i have got a new one. i asked about the case status updates online and she said the local offices cant update it, once something changes on a petition or form, it will be updated from the office where it is at the moment. i told her mine doesn't showing production but i was told by tier 2 that it was and she checked it and said , actually it is at the printer right now, i should get an update in a few days. usually when its mailed and i should have my card by the end of the week or beginning of next week

  11. to all people who are still waiting for the Permant residence card

It’s normal to feel a little bit down from time to time,
but we’re hoping to pick you up with this little Christmas rhyme.
When you are feeling sad, lonely and blue,
just think about all of the people who truly love you.
Even if it has been a truly tough year,
hope truly exists for the new year that draws near.

  12. Ok good! I'm happy that everything turned out fine :)

well i am still going to my infopass tomorrow just to make sure everything is ok, hence i had 2 text messages back to back for the I-485 this morning, but on the case status it only said approved ( No production yet ). about 30 minutes later i got a text for the I-130. so we ll see what that say tomorrow.... you only got another week to go , don't ya ?

  13. just an update for yall,

i had my interview last thursday 12/01 and got approved... yay

my case updated just today to approval and also i checked my mail, received my welcome letter and approval letter.. shouldn't be long for me to get my card now,

although i will have to go back for an infopass tomorrow, hence the adjudicating officer gave me a form to fill out after the interview so she could give me my approval notice. ( Form I-407 abandonment of greencard, i had one a long time ago and never filed the form for it,i didnt think i had to ..its been so long, the problem is that, when the officer gave me the form there weren't any instructions with it. so on line 3 of the form i put my current legal name on it instead of my former name... bummer... i looked up the instructions when i got home and it says to enter the alien name that is shown on the greencard, which is my former name.. so yeah now i just want to make sure they wont think i am abandoning my fresh new greencard, just for future reference, hence i want to apply for citizenship.

for everybody who is still waiting, i wish yall a speedy approved greencard

  14. Hi guys,

So I want to file my AOS from tourist visa (currently out of status, end April 2014) since My husband and I got married last April 2016 . I have all the paperwork except for the I-693. Does anyone have filed concurrently without the I-693, I plan to present it during our interview?

I really want to send these paperworks but I dont have enough budget to see a Civil doctor.

And also, for filing the i-485, can anyone tell me the right box to check? I have been living in the US with an expired tourist visa and married to an USC, adjustment status:

    Im not sure which one of the Box A or B should I check., The question is;

    a. An Immigrant petetion giving me an immediately available visa number that has been approved.

    b. My spouse or parent applied for adjustment of status or was granted lawful permanent residence in an immigrant visa category that allows derivative status for spouse and children.

    Thanks,

I will appreciate any replies... :-)

    Hi iamzy87,

We filed my aos without the I-693, to be honest its best not to send it with the aos packet right away, hence its only good for 1 year and sometimes one has to wait longer for the interview. you dont have to send it together. if they want it you will get an rfe.

I only got a letter stating "notice to the Applicant " , the form I-693 has not been submitted, you can submit it at a later date.

at the interview or if interview is waived you will receive a rfe.

i doubt your interview will be waived , hence you came over with a tourist visa and your out of status. ( i was out of status for 4 years and 4 month ). so you can turn yours in when you have your interview.

as far as the question , it is A

    good luck
