I just had a few questions. My fiance is Canadian (I'm an American citizen) and this summer (at the end of July) we plan to marry. Here's the deal: he doesn't quite have his F-1 visa yet since he's applied for Fall 2015 (he had a lot of issues getting his credits to transfer over to Canadian universities, and has been having better luck with American schools). We're assuming (and hoping) the visa will be here by then since fall semester starts in July. I was reading up on some other posts and noticed it said something about not being able to come before 30 days that school starts unless you obtain a visitor visa, does this hold true for Canadians or no, since they don't need a visa to enter the USA?
Now, is July 24th a good date considering school starts September 8th, is it likely within these next few months everything will be processed timely enough? Or should it be postponed a couple weeks?
Finally, after we're married, we'd have to apply for AOS correct? How does that work and what steps/forms would we have to take?
I guess I just need a little reassurance or advice, the whole process is quite a headache.
