Yes they can still apply. I had only been dating my fiance for about a month after we fell and love and decided to get engaged. Process is going ahead so far! Good luck! Just as long as they can provide pictures, evidence of their relationship ect.
Thanks! I'll let her know.. I'm not so familiar. In my case we hire lawyer to do the process..

No, you are misunderstanding the requirement. They must have met in person within the last two years. They don't need to have been in a relationship for over two years.
Oh my..definitely misunderstood? That's great news for my friend. Thanks?

My friend and her fiance want to start the K1 visa process but their relationship is still new not even a year..As far as I know the relationship should be at least 2 years right?
Thanks?

We're in North Carolina. In our case, we really needed the SSN to be able to start my husband's driver's license process and to get on my lease. I would keep calling your local office where you applied every week to check the status, and if it's been 4 weeks, involve your congressman.
Okay, I'll follow up next week then. Thanks?

The same thing happened to us when we went in to apply for our SSN the first time right after marriage on a K1 visa. They said it would take 4 weeks, but it ended up taking 6.5 weeks and a push via our congressman.
Really?what state? what should we do then?

A manual SAVE verification takes about a month, that's true.
Oh my.. anyway thanks

I went to SSA to get SSN cause I already received my green card.. But they gave me a letter saying they need to verify my documents and will take about 4 weeks because the officers says when she's checking on the computer my Lastname was not change to my married name yet she said the immigration should it, but why is it on my greencard my Lastname already change to married name I called USCIS according to representative whatever is in the card that's what on their file. So I really need to wait for 4 weeks for their mail or notification? I am worried cause my husband want to apply for Income Tax he needs my SSN. Thanks

Just received NOA that my permanent residency is approved☺ from K1 visa. We filed the AOS together with the EAD and advance parole to travel but I only received for the residency are they going to mail me the work permit and advance parole? Is this notice enough for me to file for social security number and able to work? Thanks☺
-
I see.. Anyway thanks for all the replies ?
-
You shold apply for the SS number now, but must wait for the EAD to be eligible to work.
So I can go to their office without the EAD but still not eligible to work? If I'll apply now then later on I receive my EAD what should I do then? Go to their office again?
-
We already filed AOS still waiting for notice..Just want to ask if I can apply to get social security number for me to be able to get work or I still need to wait for my EAD? Thanks

Can we use personal bank check for paying AOS+Biometrics? Thanks

I would just fill it in again......there are couple that got delayed because they left the box blank, or even used the wrong color ink
Even if it is just the same with what I write in the last five years ? Thank you for the reply.

I'm filling up my g-325a form, questions like Applicant's residence last five years and another question Applicant's address outside US of more than a year. If I already listed it from the first question can i just leave it blank or should I write N/A or None? Same as Applicant's employment last five years.Thank you in advance.

K-1 is your current status.
While trying to answer question I'm also searching for some sample wherein it made me more confused.. Since I'm married and I'll be using my spouse name I should write my spouse family name for the question 1. FULL NAME ? and my middle name would be my family name before marriage ? How bout the OTHER NAME USE (INCLUDING MAIDEN).
Thanks for helping.

You can refer to example forms for guidance also.
For my I-485, I can still write K1 for CURRENT USCIS STATUS even if it is already expired ? Thanks
-
You need to file the I-765 with your Adjustment of Status. You are no longer eligible to file based on your K-1 status, since your I-94 is expired.
When filing with your AOS, you are category C 9 -- Adjustment Applicant.
Refer to page 5, number 7.A of the I-765 instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-765instr.
Thanks you, one more thing do you know what should I write from the question Current USCIS Status? since my 1-94 expired.

I'm filling up the I-765 form, I'm confused what to answer with the question " Who may file I-765", I'm on K1 Visa and we got married within 90 days, but now my visa expired already. What do I need to do? Thanks
-
It means what date did you enter US, they don't always give out I-94 forms as it is done online now. If you can't remember your arrival you can look up your i-94 online here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/consent.html - You can print one out for the AOS package too to prove legal entry.
Thanks! really appreciate ?

We just got married and we'll be able to get the marriage certificate after a month. Just want to know the next step? how to get SSN?
NVC status
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted
My husband is petitioning his mother...
Today I get this letter from NVC:
“The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) does not allow derivative status to family members of immediate relatives. IR1, CR1, CR2, IR2, and IR5 classifications are immediate relative visa categories.
This means that a spouse, unmarried child under the age of 21 and a parent of a U.S.
citizen require their own individual petition in order to immigrate to the U.S.”
What does it mean? But we already gave NVC case number. Enlighten us please. Thanks.
