I got great news today as well- the embassy finally emailed us and assigned us for an interview date on October 30th!! only 5 days away! so exciting. i'm glad i have had all my paperwork ready to go just have to email them over to my fiance.
i pray for everyone still waiting for nvc, case numbers, interviews. its a long journey but feels so good when its near the end!
Heyyy! Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! How did the interview go?!!
Ours went off without a hitch, and I am so happy to report, Kev is home with me tonight, at long last. It's been a long journey, and there's still so much more to go, but now.. we can face it all together <3
Is everyone else doing ok? I'm here to offer any support you guys might need.

Interesting.... has he lived outside the UK at any point in his life?
Nope! I'm happy to report the visa got issued today though!
Perhaps they were waiting to process a bunch in a batch or something.
Yay!

Hi there! My fiance had his interview on the 25th and we're still in administrative processing. Hopefully the process goes faster than 17 days!!
-
How is everyone doing? :-)

Kev's medical is tomorrow, and we just scheduled his interview for 10/25. <3 On cloud nine at the moment! <3

Oh wow they sent it to the wrong department? They are such idiots. At least it got sent back though, mine and farzram's were lost to oblivion lol! Honestly when you speak to the NVC people on the phone (think Greg has said this already) they literally.. LITERALLY have no idea what they're talking about. They are either reading off a prompt or are making stuff up, even my congresswoman's staffer has told me that. Do not listen to anything they tell you. Don't let them get you down.
The best way to look at this is like this is the first time your petition is being sent to the NVC, as much as it sucks, you just have to forget about all the time it spent in limbo, and treat the situation like this is your first time around. Normally it only takes a week or two for the case to be sent to the NVC, and almost all petitions make it there in that timeframe. You're doing just fine, everything is ok

October 3
Okay then it actually sounds like you're in good shape. Give it 1-2 weeks to arrive at the NVC.
-
Did they tell you what date it was sent on?
-
I would advise both of you to speak to the USCIS, ask to talk to a Tier II officer about your case, and ask them whether or not they ever sent your cases to the NVC. The NVC can only tell you so much, right now it's the USCIS you should try and get in touch with since they were the last people to have your petition.
-
Yay!! Thank you so much!
Yes it worked for me too! Looks like ours will get there tomorrow! WOOT ^__^ I'm so excited we're finally moving in the right direction, and so quickly too, but at the same time I'm a little sad because I guess this is the point where our petitions go their separate ways :-( Please please keep in touch and keep me/us updated on your continued progress! <3

YAYYY❤️ we really are bonded in this journey hahah! YES mine says the SAME THING. But I think I once read somewhere that it just says that...to ignore it. We need to follow the embassy instructions etc (depending on the embassy). For me- the embassy contacts through email about interview and medical.
I've been trying the DHL trick but not sure if it's just not updated yet because it's too soon or I'm doing it wrong..... also, did NVC ever email you anything ? I only got a response on Monday from NVC research saying they received my petition and to way 5-6 weeks for visa processing instructions (bologna!!!)
<3 Ohhh dang okay. Oh well! I think London embassy still does all their stuff through the post but hopefully it won't take too long.
What's the DHL trick?!
I did get an email from the NVC research goofballs on the day our petition got recieved: "The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry. We recently received your visa petition. We will send detailed instructions to the petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record soon." I am so glad we don't have to deal with them anymore, I have no idea whats going on at that office lol

Hey! Decided to randomly check again- says IN TRANSIT NOW. (Checked at 4:40pm est time) check the site maybe yours is too!!!
WOOHOOO! YES omg ours is in transit too!! Our spiritual visa bond continues!! <3 Do you by any chance have the message "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."? I thought we needed to send out some forms to get the interview date?
-
Lol!!
Okay! Thanks Jess&Tom!
-
We got our case number assigned on Monday so I guess it's only been two days.. but it still feels like ages!
Hopefully it will get moved soon by the end of the week, and yours too Farzram! Fingers crossed
-
Farzram and Greg- have either of your cases been forwarded to your embassy yet? I'm bouncing around like crazy checking the CEAC site but it still says my petition is at the NVC
Booo!!
-
So Mandb, you have confirmed with the USCIS that they still have your petition? Or are they saying they have already sent it off but the NVC has not yet confirmed receipt?
-
YAY!! ^____^ Omg I am so happy for you two!! <3 <3 <3 <3 I love how we're getting through this together
I bet you any money our petitions got packaged together in the regular mail.
Ahhh that is so amazing! Today has been such a great day! Have you told your fiance yet? :-)
-
It's all good
I was hoping you hadn't responded because you were too busy celebrating over it being received at the NVC, and I'm really sorry to hear otherwise. Very strange about the UPS thing- I actually asked my congresswoman if ours would be sent UPS Next Day as well, and she told me that it would be sent the way the original one was (via diplomatic pouch). I wonder what the story is with the USCIS clowns and your petition, but worst case scenario, it probably just got sent the normal way.
I am sure though that your petition is on its way, it might even be there already. It seems as if your and our visa fates are intertwined, so I'm sure that since we heard good news, you'll be hearing good news soon too. Sending you my prayers and best wishes, friend <3

congrats teacat
Thanks so much!! ^__^
Ninz- have you made any progress with your congressman yet?

THE NVC GOT OUR PETITION TODAY!! <3 It's been an afternoon of cheers and tears!!!! I'm so happy this feels so surreal!!
YAY! It's been such a long time coming ^___^ For everyone out there in the same boat as us, there IS light at the end of the tunnel. There IS hope. <3

I'm 99% sure there is no way you can get in touch with them yourself. You probably need to do it through your state senator or representative.
-
Hey all! Glad to hear things are moving for you Greg :-)
Any word on your petition making it to the NVC Far? We just got our new NOA2 about a week and a half ago and are waiting for our case number now.

I'm SO angry guys, but at the same time I'm glad they finally ###### admitted that it was lost. I can't believe how much of my time they wasted telling me to "wait". I always knew that was lost. Now I can just remake the packet and get on with my life.
Question about Affidavit of Support
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
Hi there! Just have a quick question for you lovely folks.
My husband and I are filing his AoS currently- as a fresh graduate I am currently looking for a job and have no income, my father has agreed to be my joint sponsor and makes more than enough money to clear the poverty line so there is no issue there. However, as I need to still fill out my own I864, and have no income, do I still need to fill out the optional "assets" section, or can I leave it blank and just defer to my father's I864? With my student debt, and with my current sole assets, I would have nowhere near enough to support my husband with assets alone.
Thanks!
