  1. About how long does it take from NOA 2 until case is transferred to my respective Embassy?

When you call they say one month to receive and one month to process....Is it really take so long?

Visa Journey says its a lot shorter....Anyone know why NVC quote such a long time from start to finish??

    Thanks,

    Ram

It's usually shorter, but there can be delays. They give longer time frames so that those with delays don't call into NVC because I think they think they are already too busy.

But if you call a bunch, it may help ;)

  2. We were in AP as well. And looking the diversity of contributors to this thread it does seem random. But again the only certain thing in this process is uncertainty. As hard as it seems, waiting without clear answers is the only real solution at this stage but knowing that it does end is the most promising thought. Best of luck. Hope it end tomorrow or has already ended.

Thanks for your comment and best of luck to you too. I don't believe we enough information from what is shared on this forum to determine that the particular facts of each case point to a complete randomness for AAP. Again, I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

  3. There is no real determination of the why of AP. I've told you what I've found out. From this thread, and part one, I think we have pretty well established that is is not down to the country of origin, the ages of the couple, the language that they speak, the region they practice. Divorced or never married, children or none. USCIS is not out to get you for any particular reason. Petitions are plucked out of the queue and subjected to further scrutiny, and then they are sent on. The process on the whole in not transparent, and you are seeking black and white answers that you will never get.

I'm not confused by you, I am irritated. You are questioning my integrity, and I do not appreciate it. I've said what I was told at interview, and what my FOIA revealed. Your mileage may vary. I absolutely am not going further with that.

And, like most 'old' posters that post on the forums for many years after their process is finished, it is to help people still IN the process. I answer questions only in any area I am familiar with. If it wasn't for those people who do stay and help, instead of getting their visas and never looking back, I don't know who you would expect to help the new ones along.

Follow your Bliss: Your comment "I'm not confused by you, I am irritated." This is obvious. It's just not clear why. No one is questioning your integrity. Just wondering where your FOIA came from as part of information swapping, which is the point of his forum.

  4. I propose that it is not random. I am not 100% sure, but it is merely a hypothesis. There are preliminary fraud indictors that the government rapidly screens for upon receiving the case in terms of the relationship itself (difference in the age of the petitioner and beneficiary, whether the petitioner has filed for other beneficiaries in the past, differences in education or age among the pair, prior nonimmigrant visa applications on the part of the beneficiary and their recency, among others), as well as criminal and national security checks. I think some unknown combination of these "yellow flags" triggers who gets scrutinized further. I could be wrong. Logic and my specialized training tells me the government would choose to do better than just completely randomized checks.

  5. Does it matter? Really? This thread is to assist people on K1's who are in AP at NVC. I've hung around 6 years after we moved on to try and do that.

I remain unclear as to what motivates you.

It's confusing why you question whether it matters when your first reply to me was to question my hypothesis as to the real reason for the AAP, at which point the central question of our discourse became a factual one: What is the real reason cases get selected for AAP? You claim that you have knowledge that it is random. Given that this forum is a place to swap information, I questioned the root of that knowledge to determine its credibility. You respond by "does it matter?." Actually, it does matter because it is precisely what we trying to determine both within our conversation and within the broader conversation of this thread. Then you question my motivation for engaging you in this factual inquiry. Let me respond as gently has I can: It is the same as everyone else's on this thread: to determine the why and when of AAP. I'm confused at your confusion. I sense a defensive tone from you and from your prior posts with others, so I will leave this conversation with you simply here and not reply more. I question ever so slightly why you are posting on this forum for six year, but to each her own. Best regards. I would welcome others' input as to the "why" of AAP, of course, based on the facts that they have uncovered.

  6. I was told it was random at the interview. I was also told the same thing in the FOIA request I filed.

In what part of the FOIA, did it say random additional administrative processing at NVC? FOIAs don't come back with NVC stuff, only USCIS. It is nearly impossible to FOIA the Department of State, in my experience.

I mean what they tell you at the consular interview may or may not have been true, but I don't take it as definitive. I would believe a FOIA more than some off the cuff remark of a consular officer regarding a new security checks program that was recently established and to which they were previously unaware.

  7. NOA2 received March 19th. Now the paperwork is at the NVC. Three weeks ago, I called and got a case number (KEV)

Today, I phoned (4/30), so it's been there at NVC for almost 6 weeks now. I was told 'Administrative Processing'. She was polite and recommended I call NVC once per week. So that's it. It's a waiting period, while they do their thing.

We're also stuck in AP since April 17th. :( I know you're a week longer, but seriously when will this end? Our I-129F was approved on March 27th out of CSC. Wouldn't you love to know what triggers these additional checks. People keep saying random, but I don't buy it 100%.
