  1. Today we had our infopass appointment at the Dallas office, only to make life even more confusing. as you can see we submitted and interviewed back in March and our case hasn't changed online since....not even our 70 day letter informing us that we will not get our case approved within 90 days. at the appointment today she informed us that our case was at the USCIS archive....as to say they are finished with our case (Approved I hope) she informed us that the name checks where done and okay but was clueless if our case was approved or not....so we left the Dallas office wondering what had happened to our case were we approved...or did they archive our case for some strange reason. all she could do was request our file be transfered to Dallas to find out what the issue was and the status of our case...Has anyone had this or heard of anything so silly.

  2. So i'm going to apply for AP and i don't know what to do, i filed my AOS through DORA and haven't recieved a 70 day letter...do i submit my AP at the Dallas office or would i send it to Chicago? should i do E-file or mail in? Thanks guys. what time frame are we looking at for DORA people who after 90 days apply for AP is it expedited seeing we we're led to believe the 90 day goal of USCIS?

  3. I am currently in the DORA process here in Dallas also, my problem is that we had our DORA appointment a month before you and we still haven't even received our 70 day notice letter and we're at day 100 or so. the whole process is screwed up and if i was you i would go. USCIS has their head so far up their ### they don't know which way is up. Besides all this, goodluck and i'm sure your green card is on the way.

  4. The DORA thing is a pilot program for Dallas, El Paso, Oklahoma City and San Antonio local offices. The program was designed to have a process that would have the entire Green Card process done with in 90 days. Unfortunately for us this doesn't seem to work for the most part (There are cases that do make it within 90 days). I believe that the issue that prevents our green cards being issued is the FBI name checks. With the DORA program everything on the USCIS side is completed with you present. You submit your application, have your interview and have your application checked for errors (RFE's) all before you leave that day. After 2-3 weeks you would have your biometrics done and then you wait.........and wait........then you get your green card. The 70 day letter is the USCIS's way of letting you know that it's not going to be completed within the 90 days. I hope this helped.

I also haven't been touched since our biometrics was completed back on April 4th, and no 70 day letter either. I've heard that making an appointment to discuss your status doesn't help any...they have no idea what time frame you are looking at when it comes to the FBI...But good luck maybe they'll surprise us all.

  5. Hey guys i was just wanting to see what are some of the time lines of people who are going through the DORA process. It doesn't matter your location Dallas, Oklahoma City...etc as long as you're going through the DORA process. I'm currently waiting with no updates since our biometrics back in April 9th, our interview and application submission was on March 9th. One other thing, when they said 90 days do they mean 90 calander days or 90 government work days Monday through Friday and excluding holidays?

  6. Hi,

A few days ago i recived a letter from the Marines telling me that i am being activated to active duty. I am currently Inactive Reserve (IR) did my service and got out. well, I am the sole provider of my family (wife) and seeing she isn't able to work (AOS)etc..... and i'm a contractor. As a contrator when things like this happen you lose your job because you're a contractor (you don't work directly for the company) they can legily get rid of you when you leave. They don't fall under that law that protects your job until you come back. What can i do to get out of this is there any immigration law that may help?

  7. Hey Everyone,

I'm so happy we are done with the hard part, yesterday was my wife's AOS interview here in Dallas. It went really well let me tell you how it went:

Showed up at 7:45 for our 8:15 interview with no line!!!!!!! went up to the front office and gave them our appointment letter and sat down. at around 9:15 they called our name and we presented our AOS package to the lady and checked to see if everything was there. We were then told to take a seat and she would call us back soon. 20 mins later she called us up and gave us our interview letter for the package...to my surprise it was for 10:45...wow that's in an hours time.

10:50am we got called back for our interview by a very nice lady, and the interview started. she just asked her the same things as on the application, asked how we met...etc. and asked for photos and stuff....I was like ahhhh you need that, she's only been here for eight weeks and we proved our relationship in her K-1 VISA? I thought we didn't need it but fortunately I had a copy of our lease with both our names on it. she also copied my passport with three Indian visas and about 10 entry stamps. After all that she said "Don't worry about it I'll waiver it". We then just chatted about my wife's home and that she didn't look Indian more like Thai or Chinese, after about a twenty minute interview she said okay your approved. Before we left she told us that you should have your biometrics appointment in about three weeks and the only thing left was the name check. From showing up at 7:45 and walking out the door after the interview at 11:20 I was amazed. THANK YOU D.O.R.A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
