We received a new receipt in the mail (with a new receipt number) stating: "We have received a preliminary review of the application or petition listed above. As part of standard processing, we transferred your case to the USCIS office that has jurisdiction over your case. The office will notify you in writing when they make a decision on your case or if they need addition information" It follows that with an address for the Nebraska Service Center. The case number we used before still gives us the same message of "We waived the fee...blahblahblah" that has been up for over a year. When we use this receipt number we get the message about being moved to a new service center. I see a bunch of us CSC filers are getting this notice as well. Anyone know why they would transfer it? I felt sure we sent in enough evidence...maybe this is the final step before approval?

Hi sjoy321, I just got the mail said that I was also transferred to Nebraska Service Center. The I-751 processing time on the USCIS website does not show up on NSC which means we will not know the processing time now! :(  Are the petitioner and beneficiary on your Form I-797C are the same?

  2. Well it is offical:

I could say it's about time, but I've said that already. I could say we are happy, but you know that. I can also tell you that I am still angry. Finally got a call from my Senators office about an hour ago and I told the staffer, "Thanks but no thanks." But I did launch into a major league concern for the many of us who have and continue to wait. This bureacratic nightmare (unrelated to the overall immigration question) must be dealt with...

We are happy and it perked up my recovering wife. Now (as soon the GC is in hand) she can start the petitioning for her adult son...and that will take a LONG time...

Thank you all for listening to my somewhat jaded, cynical and sometimes humerous posts...I am also not leaving. This battle must be fought by all of us until decisions are made in a reasonable period of time...

Congratulations! ! So happy for you and your wife!

  3. Hi, guys! I think I'm the third one was approved today! Just now I checked my case online, it says that,

    "New Card Is Being Produced

On March 20, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

Hope more people will be approved today! ?

  4. Yes I have had experience. I took my AOS noa1, my marriage cert, as my passport is in my maiden name and my card. Only trouble I had was booking in online had to do it at the airport and then register on the machine as a permanent resident. At border control in the USA they knew the card, took me for 2nd processing which took about 5 mins and that was it, other than they told me once I got my GC to use the permanent/citizens queue! Be prepared to receive your GC whilst abroad someone yesterday in Austrailia did just that!

Okay thank you shell20, it seems that the 2nd processing is a breeze! :energy:

  5. Interview waiver cases can be adjudicated at any office. The reason your case got sent to NJ was because they had more staff or less of a backlog - it could have gone anywhere.

For travel all you need is your EAD/AP combo card and passport. You will probably be sent to secondary inspection when you get back to the US which is fine. Make sure you have sufficient time for any connecting flights.

Arm yourself with pages 1, 2 & 44 from the following document and show it to the airline agent if you have any problems checking in or boarding your flight:

Thanks Derwood, your information is very useful, that Carrier Information Guide is a big relief! B-)

  6. @Christina_W -- you will be fine. We are still waiting for my wife's GC, but with the AP card - we have been able to travel. We have taken two cruises and she just got back from the Philippines. We could not use the AP for online checkin, but at the counter the airlines understood what it was. Back at US Customs, most agents know how to handle it. Once my wife was asked for the letter that came with the card, which she did not have with her. Another agent came over and all was fine. So, do not worry - airlines, cruise lines and customs are all use to AP!

    Thanks DnR! :)

  7. Hi guys!

I'm a March 2014 case, my NPIW date is 6/27/14 and now I'm still waiting for my AOS be approved. :( I did an inquire on line on 3/2, and got a respond from NJ field office today said that they got my case since 2/9/15 and can not give me a completion date and apologize for the delay... It is weird that my location is in MO, why my case is in NJ field office?

And I hope I can get GC in this month because I will travel abroad on April. I heard that people will get some troubles when use EAD and AP combo card to get on airplane when they go back to the USA. Because some airline staffs don't know what is AP! ! :girlwerewolf2xn: Does anyone have experience to use the combo card? What documents should I submit to the airline staffs? If they don't allow me to get on board, what should I do? I really frustrated about these!!! :huh2:

    Thank you !
