  1. Had my interview today at the Atlanta Office. I checked in on the ground floor at 12:35pm and was told to go up to 3rd floor for my appointment scheduled at 12:45pm. As soon as I stepped off the elevator I heard ticket number 98 being called and the ticket I was given was 137. I knew immediately I was in for a long wait. After waiting for almost two hours I was called into the office where I was told to raise my right hand to swear to tell the truth.

The officer asked for my green card, driving licence and passport. I also gave him a copy of the traffic citation I picked up almost five years ago, he looked over it and checked it off the list. I was then given the following civics questions, which I answered correctly:

    1. What is an amendment?

    2. What is the supreme law of the land?

    3. What is the captial of your state?

    4. Who vetoes bills?

    5. Who did the United States fight in World War II?

    6. What do we show loyalty to when we say the Pledge of Allegiance?

Then I was given the reading and writing test:

    Read: When is Flag Day

Write: Flag Day is in June

We then went over the N-400 application form, confirming my personal information was correct, then reiterating all of the questions towards the back of the form, answering yes or no.

I was then recommended for approval and told I will receive a notice in the mail about the oath ceremony. The officer also told me there might be a possibility I could be assigned to an oath ceremony in Dunwoody on Independence Day! Being a Brit you can't get more ironic than that. Before I left I was given back my green card, driving licence and passport. I did not have to show any other documents (tax returns/transcripts, bills, birth/marriage certificates, divorce decrees etc) despite applying under the three year rule. Interview was pleasant and took no longer than 15 mins.

  2. Hi,

I have question for those who are in line for interview or Interview scheduled status. Was there status update for fingerprinting scheduled before the case was scheduled for inline or schedule for Interview?

My fingerprinting was done first week of March but until now, I am still seeing the status of Application received and no status changes for fingerprinting scheduled. I have looked at some random case numbers on the website and saw there are some cases with Fingerprinting scheduled status. Since all the remaining applicants from the same field office got interview scheduled, I hope they got tracking of my biometrics.

  3. Quick Question: I am in line for being scheduled for an interview. Will my case update to "Scheduled for Interview" before they send the letter or should I just check my mail everyday in case I was scheduled without an update? I've seen that the case status sometimes doesn't update at all. Also it says that they will send an interview notice even when it is says that you're only in line for scheduling.

So for the people who have gotten interview letters, did your case status update from in line for an interview to scheduled for an interview first or at all before you got the letter?

I've been checking my mailbox like crazy since i've been in line since March 13th. I know it can take months to be scheduled and am not being impatient, just wondering if I need to be checking my mailbox like crazy. I live with my family and they often misplace my letters so i've been getting the mail ASAP.
