For everyone who has had their oath ceremony, what all did you have to take to the oath? Do we have to take all the previous I-797 notice of action letters you got throughout the N-400 process (receipt letter, biometrics letter, and interview letter)?Or take just the oath letter, green card, and passport? Don't know what they mean by "Any other documents USCIS issued to you."

There are two different estimated wait times. The first says "July 2018" and the other in the bottom says "20 days." The oath ceremony is not scheduled yet. What do you guys this of this? Do they mean the oath ceremony will be scheduled in 20 days and the actual ceremony will be in July?

How long after the interview do you recommended for me to send a message using the online system requesting the status of scheduling my oath ceremony? It's been over a month since the application was approved at the interview and still no work on my oath ceremony.

Oh sorry, Just forgot. He said I have to get 6 right and if I get the first 6 correct, he will not ask the remaining four. I answered the first 6 questions correctly and he stopped the civics test there.

Hello everyone,
I had my interview today and wanted to share my experience. I apologize that it is very long. Just wanted to be detailed. My interview experience was a lot better than I had expected.
While I have lived in the US for almost 10 years, my N-400 application is based on marriage (3-year rule). In preparation for the interview and speaking with many here on VisaJourney, I took a lot of bona-fide marriage documents in addition to the ones listed in the interview letter (two folders worth) just in case they ask for it.
I was called by an immigration officer 10 minutes past my interview time (I was surprised as I expected to wait for a long time to be called). Once we went into his office, he had me have a seat to take a picture and biometrics of both index fingers and asked for my green card and confirmed with me that this application is based on marriage to a US citizen. Before we did the biometrics he laid out what the interview would look like. After that, he had me stand to take an oath. This followed by taking the english test... I wrote the sentence he asked me to and read out loud a different sentence he asked me to. After this he proceed to pull up my application on the computer and asked basic questions of where i live, my address, date of birth, height and my social security number. He then asked if my spouse was a US citizen by birth or naturalized and I answered by birth. I said I can show him the birth certificate I have with me but he proceeded to say that he sees it on file here because I uploaded it online. Asked where I worked right now and what i did there. He asked me to verify that I had traveled only one time out of the country in the last three years and for only 16 days followed by the name of the country. I used to live in a different state, asked me where that city was located. After this came the long list of yes or no eligibility questions (Note: If you answered yes to any of the question, they will expect you to say the same and include the same details you submitted with the application. For example I was part of couple of engineering societies in college and I proceed to disclose that when that question came up). He also verified if I was registered with the selective service and I mentioned I uploaded it online and have the paper if he needs it. After all the yes or no questions, he proceeded to print out a paper that had something like "certificate preparation" and had me verify my personal information on it and asked if I wanted to change my name. After this there was three signatures I signed on the tablet even though there was no changes made to my application. And finally he printed out the "Naturalization Interview Results" paper where I saw he selected recommended for approval. He continued to say the oath ceremony will be within the next 60 to 90 days at the courthouse downtown. He then asked me if I had any questions for him (I asked him basic question about oath ceremony) and then we both proceed to leave his office. All of this lasted about 15 minutes, maybe close to 20 minutes.
There were a lot of long silent moments. One of the times I tried to break the silence and asked him how long he was working with USCIS.
He did not ask me to pull out any of the documents I took with me except my green card (I was very surprised about this). I saw the giant file he had next to him with all my documents from AOS and ROC applications. Based on all the other experiences I've read here, it is clear that your experience truly depends on the officer who interviews you. Better to be prepared than not, so I still recommend to take all the documents you can with you just in case they ask for it.
When I reached home, I have five email from USCIS. Three from the ELIS system and two from the regular status website. While the ELIS email said "USCIS has taken action on your application, petition or request and updated your account. Please access your account to view the update." , I logged in online and did not see any change... it still says "interview scheduled"... I'm not sure why. I assume this is normal? Meanwhile, when I enter my receipt number in the regular uscis.gov case status page, it says "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled."

My interview is tomorrow! Excited and nervous at the same time! Is formal wear recommended? I was thinking to wear a suit and tie tomorrow.

My wife is the applicant, not me, but this is what she told me. I was in the waiting room. Interview took about 25 minutes. Started about 90 minutes after the time we were given. Our case is very simple, with no red flags, so your mileage may vary but this is what happened:
Started with the Civics test - got the first 6 questions right, so only 6 were asked. Test passed
Moved onto the English test - we assumed this would be waived as applicant is British and only speaks/has ever spoken English, but it was not waived - hey have you read a sentence, write a sentence and say a sentence. Passed this test too.
Then the officer goes through the n400 form line by line on her computer screen. We had missed a couple of checkboxes (that should have been 'safe' no answers) so she filled them in and had the applicant initial the corrections with a digital signing pad.
Once that was done, the officer asked for the Bona-Fide marriage documented I mentioned in my earlier post. Applicant said we didn't have them - because nowhere did they tell us to bring them. Officer said we were approved pending delivery of those papers (even though they have them on file already!) and that we could bring them back today and be approved today, or we could mail them in to that office. We brought them back and the officer quickly looked them over, scanned them in, added them to the applications and then gave the verbal approval.
Did they end up keeping the bona-fide marriage documents or just reviewed it and gave it back at the end of the interview? Just wondering if I should make copies of the copies before I take it in a few days.

We just had the N-400 interview this week, and despite having had the removal of conditions approved in November of 2017, we were unexpectdely asked to produce all that info again before the N-400 could be approved.
We didn't have it with us, but fortunately, we had it all filed, and we live near our field office so we were able to leave, collect it and return same day to provide it. We were then approve din person and just got the formal approval notification this morning.
So, I would bring it just in case.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I will make sure I will take all the documents I sent in with my ROC application. I definitely don't want this process to be delayed any longer and am ready to put it behind me after the oath ceremony... it's been long and tedious. Do I need to take stuff I submitted with the initial AOS application? I would think the documents that were sent in ROC and newer should be enough?
Did the officer tell you that you were recommended for approval before you left? I've heard most of the time even if they are going to recommend for approval, they don't tell that to the applicant and end up saying "decision cannot be made." If they say "decision cannot be made" that will just cause more unnecessary stress.

My interview is in a week and I have a question if anyone can help.
Is joint marriage evidence required for the N-400 interview? I've heard conflicting viewpoints on the interview when filed under 3 year rule. On one hand I hear that they are not concerned about the marriage anymore as the AOS and ROC process takes care of that. On the other I hear that I should to take all joint evidence from marriage that was submitted for AOS and ROC to the N-400 interview. Which one is true? It would be a TON of documents to take if I need to take all my previous documents.
I was just thinking of taking the followig: Joint tax returns for 3 years, leases we signed, spouse US birth certificate, marriage certificate and maybe a bank statement or two showing joint account. I can also take joint health insurance and car insurance proof if needed. Would this be enough? Also, do I need to take photos like I did for the AOS interview?

P.S. Here is my overall timeline in the US... this may or may not help with your response. I've lived in the US since 2008. Got married in 2014, got conditional GC in 2014, ROC approved in 2017 with 10-year GC and applied for citizenship in November 2017.

So would I just take the expired passport in?

Hello everyone, couple of quick questions,
1. How long between when you case status in the online application system changes to "We scheduled your interview" to the document being uploaded online to look at the date and time? The status changed yesterday and i was hoping to download the document letter today and i don't see it.
2. My passport from my country of origin has been expired for a couple of months now. I have not renewed it yet since I am already in the N-400 process. Do I need to renew my passport and take it to my N-400 interview?

Out of curiosity, for all the online filers, what does it say for your estimated completion time in the online system? I realize it varies according to the field office. Mine says estimated to complete in July 2018 (8 months).

Hello all, I just filed for my N-400 today 11/12/2017. Online filing.
Any of you have the link for logging in for the online application to check letter we get from USCIS and? The home page looks very different to me than the the home page image in page 29 and 30 of this official USCIS document: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/USCIS ELIS/USCIS_ELIS_Customer_User_Manual.pdf
Also when will I get the receipt for the online filing since I filed it on a Sunday and how can I get access to it?

Hello, I just found a typo/ error and suddenly very worried. Please advise.
So back in 2014 when I was applying for adjustment of status based on marriage... we had to fill out the "G-325A Biographic Information" form. In that form, I put in the jobs I held, one of them was 05/2012 to 08/2012 and the other was 08/2012 to 12/2012. I just pulled up the G-325 form while I was filling out the N-400 and just noticed that the G-325 form from 2014 has the dates as "05/2013-08/2013 and 08/2013-12/2013" instead of 2012.
In the N-400 if I put the correct dates of 5/2012-8/2012 and 8/2012-12/2012 for those two employments... will that be a big issue to get N-400 approved?
Looks like it was a typo back in 2014 that we did not notice till just now. Kinda worried. Is there a way/ do we have to make a correction to the G-325 form from 2014?
