For now, her coming back here will be based on the outcome of the interview at the embassy...money spent on flight and all that is much.. If the interview is approved then so be it but if it's delayed she planned on coming and staying for 6month which I hope it doesn't get to that.. She won't be here for the interview because we got to know that they don't allow anyone else to enter the embassy in my country apart from applicant

It's rare but I actually attended and was asked few questions at my husband's interview at the embassy in Lagos.

  2. In regards to military, there is a possiblity for your mother to become a dependent (secondary) of your spouse. Here's the link for information,  Secondary Dependency
    https://www.dfas.mil/militarymembers/SecondaryDependency/SDC.html .

I'm not certain if that same principle of secondary dependency can be used for immigration. However, there is a dedicated department within uscis for military members and families. It never hurts to call.

    Good luck!

  3. Wow...huge age difference. Hey don't get it wrong. Love knows no age. Like any relationship both parties have to be determined to make it work. That means dealing with insecurties and embarrassments that could occur from generational gap, upbringing, etc...

I'm not going to try to spectulate who's wrong and take sides. But I would like to suggest that sometimes people notice or experience a behavior/issue from their partner but selects to avoid or pretend that it's not there but in long run relationship is hindered and sometimes destroyed becos the lack of being honest to 1)themselves and 2) their partner.

This blog has been going on for awhile. Maybe consider closing so you and your husband can spend time communicating each other emotional needs and wants without interference of people including myself that only have a small (very very small) glimpse of y'all life.

    Good luck.

  4. Unfortunately, it might be the right date. Look at our timeline below.

May 18th (Monday) file received at Lagos consulate.

May 19th (Tuesday) registered and attempt to scheduled appointment, no appointment because needed to pay fee to bank. First available appointment was June 4th.

May 21 (Thursday) Paid fee and scheduled appointment for July 16th. Only one appoint available for May 24th, the next nearest appointment was July 16th.

But don't give up. I think I seen your post on Nairaland. The visa officer online is very helpful and it seems like if there is a way to assist, she would.

    Good luck.
