  1. Hi all - have searched through various posts but struggling to figure something out, here goes:

My wife is a USC petitioner. I am the UKC applicant. We are into the NVC stage of IR1/CR1 for spouse, and as we are both temporarily living overseas, I understand and have been prepared for the fact that our overseas income does not count towards my wife's I-864, and that we need a joint sponsor. Her mother will be fulfilling this role.

My question is about question 5 (household size) on the I-864 with reference to both my wife's and my mother in law's I-864 forms:

    - On my wife's form, I initially thought the household size would be the two of us (1 "person being sponsored", and 1 "yourself" i.e. the applicant)

    - On my mother-in-law's form, I have 1 "person being sponsored", 1 "yourself" and 1 spouse (she is married), so 3 total, or if we include my wife (which I'm not sure we should?), it would be 4. I would note that we are not planning on living with my in-laws.

Does it matter that the two forms show different household sizes? Or have I filled something out wrong? As usual the instructions are just confusing. I just don't want to flag an error check somewhere that flashes a red light if the two household sizes don't match.

    Thanks very much!

  2. Hi all,

Not sure if anyone else has had this happen - my USC wife and I filed back in Feb this year from the UAE and received the NOA1 in March. Since then we had an RFE (which we provided) and the USCIS case status was updated to reflect that they had received the RFE, would continue working on our case (from the California SC) and we should hear something by 6/29 (they received our RFE evidence on 4/30). Strangely though, when I logged onto USCIS last week, the 6/29 deadline text has been removed altogether, and now it just says "We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. ".

Has anyone else seen this before? Obviously the two month deadline hits tomorrow and we haven't heard anything and the online status hasn't changed. Time for a follow-up call?

    Thanks!
