    @Cheyenne5044 and @Marrienne,

I too applied for the fee waiver and got it fairly quick. I receive an income based benefit of food stamps and medicaid which I used as the basis for the fee waiver. I filed in Vermont which is different for you. I know from my research of others that filed with fee waiver that it can take sometimes a minimum of 30 days to be approved and a response sent. I know that California is backlogged so this can be the reason of no response to you so far. I hope that you hear soon and your process continues. Just be aware that the delay in response does not change your receive date. Good luck.

    Hello,

sorry maybe i was unclear in my first message but i did NOT apply for a fee waiver. I saw that they processed my checks a couple of weeks after they received the application and sent me the GC extension letter so i dont think you and i are in the same situation. But i hope you hear back soon!

  2. Hey guys.

I live in San Diego and filed on June 15, 2018 to the California Processing Center. I got a letter of GC extension shortly thereafter - but no news since then. I've tried checking my number online via the "Check my status" page but it tells me it cant provide me with any information and gives me a number to call. Anyone else having this issue?

In addition - I haven't received a biometrics invite yet either... is that normal for california? I know they are super backlogged - but so is Vermont. A friend of mine filed a month earlier and said he had his biometrics appointment about 45 days after filing...

  3. Guys,

I'm hoping someone could help clarify.

I finally have my interview date and I'm reviewing what I need to bring to the interview. I'm transferring from K1.
    1) Do I need to fill out I-693 form? (I sent them the vaccination supplement initially with I-485, my medical report was taken at the K1 interview)
    2) Do we need to re-fill the I-864 form? This was submitted with I-485 but my husband has since got a new job. So does he need to redo it with new employer/salary info?

Also - can anyone clarify what the heck is meant by "All documentation establishing eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status" ?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. San Diegans!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Last night, the processing status for the month changed to 'November 13, 2015.' My NOA2 date is November 5th, 2015. I had planned to check on that today and begin the inquiry process.

This morning, at 4 AM, I received a text and email that my interview has been scheduled for September.

So hang in there - it's coming for you too - if it hasn't already!

Looks like USCIS just did their monthly processing times update! Question on that...is that the date that they are processing applications UP TO during the current batch? Or the beginning date for the current batch? (San Diego says November 2nd and our date is November 5th so i'm quite antsy at the moment!)

    mdcatelli

I don't have an answer for you, but as a fellow San Diegan I am interested in this as well! A month and a half behind you in processing and getting quite impatient about it.

I have an answer guys. So technically speaking, what the update says is that as of May 31, 2016 they were processing November 2nd, 2015. Which means that they should technically be processing January right now. They are not. BUT - what this also means is that if your processing date is AFTER November 2nd, you cannot make any kind of inquiry at all. If you call USCIS they will tell you they have no further information to give and will do absolutely nothing to help you.
So monkiwiland - you and I will have to wait another month until we can put an inquiry in. Once they update their page again in August, and if it's past November 5th, then we can make a formal inquiry.
I am the same November 5th processing date as you btw. I'll be sure to let you know if I hear anything before august - but I HIGHLY doubt it.

  6. Hey monkiwiland,

I am also in San Diego. With the exact same NOA1 date as you - November 5th.

I actually havent had an update since December 9th, so also 6 months.
In my experience so far - they will not talk to you because we are still 'within normal processing time' since they are processing September 19th.

Now having said that, they havent updated their site yet for the month, but I suspect it will be a mid-October update for processing AT BEST. Which means we'll have to wait another month at least.
I am also trying to figure out my options and I'll call them again in the next few days if they don't update their website, because if I don't get my interview before september of this year, I have to re-start the whole 485 process again because my medical will expire and I need to renew my canadian passport. Needless to say, I'm pretty antsy.

  7. Hey guys,

After reading a lot of your frustrations - I definitely have to say I share them.
There has been no actual update since I did my biometrics and my status changed to 'ready to schedule interview' on December 9, 2015. A month later, I called in to change my address and the system regenerated "ready to schedule interview" to the new day - January 29th. But actually, nothing has happened for over six months now.
Called USCIS last month, told the San Diego Office was processing October 24th, 2015.
Called USCIS 2 days ago, told the San Diego Office was processing September 19th, 2015. - REALLY? They regressed their workload to a month behind? That's absurd.
Anyway, I'm wondering how you guys do these infopass appointments. What are the requirements and how do you make them?

  8. Is anyone still waiting for their I485 approval? Especially in southern california?

Also- has anyone had a situation, whereby they initially had the notice change to 'waiting to schedule an interview' to direct approval without the interview process?

I'm in San Diego and have had no news since my biometrics on December 9th. Getting a bit frustrated and feeling forgotten by the system.

  9. Anyone from California still waiting for their interview to be scheduled?
I'm wondering if the way I'm trying to check how they schedule interviews is correct...
I'm basically going on the 'Processing Times' page through USCIS https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplay.do

And check under 'Field Office' and select my city, and then based on the I485, I guess-timate how much longer I have to wait to hear back about when my application will be processed and my interview set.
Is anyone else doing this? is this the right way to check?

  10. I have that same situation. NOA 11/25 for EAD and i485. EAD received last week. Need to go out of the country in early May so I was told I could still file for AP. There is no fee you have to pay as your i485 is pending (you will need to include a copy of your NOA as proof of ongoing i485). My case was just received yesterday so Im waiting for receipt# and hoping for a quick turnaround. If you need to leave the country soon you should do it, I should have done it when I sent i485 but was not expecting a long AOS process. Still have to see how fast they are able to process application.

    Thanks,

Thank you so much for your response and experience. I guess I'll have to consider my options. Is anyone else still waiting for a GC interview to be scheduled?

And how long after the interview is the GC issued?

  11. Where? In your USCIS account? I don't see the tracking number anywhere under there.

Also, for some reason my I485 was updated again to say the exact same thing it's been saying for almost 2 months, that they are ready for an interview and will send me a letter when the interview has been scheduled. Has this happened to anyone else?

Also - has anyone else ever had a 'we will schedule your interview and mail you a notice' appear and then all of the sudden had their GC issued instead?

    Hi everyone,

Finally i got my EAD yesterday afternoon.

    Filed service request on 1/20

status changed assigned to office and complete 1/20

    approval notice 1/22

filed another service request card not received on 1/26

status changed to card mailed on 1/27

    received the card on 1/29

the reason received in 2 days, USCIS ships the cards via USPS priority mail. on the other hand i got in my maibox regular envelope from USCIS (2 pages) it describes me my approval etc.

now will apply for a SSN.

hope above information helps and hope all of us get or GC before april :)

when they mail it the tracking number appears on your file status page

  12. Guys,

Ive noticed that some of you say that youre able to track your EAD through USPS. How do you do that exactly? Like where did you find your tracking numbers and how did you know USPS picked it up?

For others still waiting- definitely put in a request after 75 days. It took me 9 days total after the request was put in to have the EAD approved and mailed. Just trying to track it now!!

    Good luck everyone!!

  13. I'm a little confused based on reading other people's experiences.

Earlier today I got a notification that my EAD was approved and they will mail me a notice about it. But there are many of you here that state that your EAD status then also changed to "card being produced" or "card mailed". So I'm confused about that. Is there a difference between "EAD approved" and "EAD card produced/mailed". Could someone clarify the process once the notification changes to 'approved'?

Also for the record for those of you thinking of filing for request - it took me 7 days from the time of filing a service request to getting this approval notice today. Definitely worth doing if you are over or near your 75 day period - mine was 82 days total.

  14. Called USCIS to see if I can find out what is meant by 'service request has been completed'. No information was given. I was told i should expect an answer within the next 30 days, when I asked how I would be informed, I was told either by text, email, or mail. So you know - unlimited possibilities.

I just wanted to find out - anyone who has done their biometrics in December in California - we're all still waiting for our interviews to be scheduled right?

  15. Okay! So I also just checked my inquiry request. It also said it was completed today - but I never got a text or email message about it despite having both alerts as 'on'. My actual status on the application has not changed, but I'm guessing this takes 30 minutes to an 1 or something for it to change?

Thanks so much for all the advice everyone! It really is comforting to know we are all going through the same thing.

  16. It told me the same (feb 10th I believe). I did it yesterday morning. By the end of day yesterday it said assigned to an officer and completed. Today I got the text saying new card is being produced. Don't be discouraged! Most others posts have said it has taken 2-5 max days to hear a response from a service request.

Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond today. Okay so I also signed up for an account and this info appears on the side, "As of January 20, 2016, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, referral number SR*****, is currently not assigned for processing." Did you see this before someone was assigned to you?

Aaah im getting so impatient but also seeing how it helped you gives me hope!

    Thanks again!

Oh darn, just saw someone else asked the same question! Okay! Yay! At least im not alone! :)

  17. Hey guys,

I'm going to be at 75 days tomorrow for the EAD, I plan on calling on thursday so there can be no excuses when i put in the service request.

My only question is for those of you who already received your EADs, did you actually see a status change via USCIS notifying that your EAD was approved? Or did you just receive them in the mail with no status change?

Really getting fed up. Since doing my biometrics on December 2nd, I've had no news. Can't believe it'd take this long to schedule my interview...

Actually I guess I'm at "ready to be scheduled for interview" - I've been at this stage since December 9th. Nothing since. Im starting to get worried...

  18. Bogi & Nick, thanks so much for taking the time to respond! I really appreciate it!! And ugh - tell me about it! I'm going crazy here, I can't even get my driver's license because my K1 officially expired and yet I have no way to prove my 'status' here.

All the best to you = ) I know we'll all get there!

    1) USCIS case tracker! Both Apple store and Google play have this!

    2) https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do;jsessionid=abcHPqaKQL6SxgXMzX4iv

    Thanks Kash!!
