  1. Did your packet 3 or Packet 4 show an example of what they consider financial requirements?

And example for Montreal Packet 4 says: Proof of Financial Support (Form I‐134) and photocopy of supporting documents (IRS transcript or photocopy of the most recent Federal income tax return, bank statements, employment pay slips, etc.)

The problem with Tax returns and W2's for 2014 is that they were done in April or earlier and it doesn't mean they still have the job, which is when proving you still have the job comes into play.

My dad has a tax return and a W2 for this most recent tax season, and it shows him making over 100,000$ a year. He filed his taxes in April, and was laid off from his job in June. He CURRENTLY makes 0$ a year at the moment, but his Tax Return and W2 show that as of last year he was making 100,000$ a year.

That's why current income is more important, a lot of people could have great looking tax returns and w2's, but if they can't prove they currently still make that amount, the Tax return and W2 have no meaning.

Personally, if I were you, I'd get the "Only bring a tax return and W2" in writing (via email would be the best way if you can contact them using email) and take it to the interview. If you tell them someone you talked too told you to bring that, they may just respond with "you weren't told correctly".

I actually do have their response in an email, which i will print out and bring to the interview.

this is what they wrote in response to my question about what a co-sponsor needs to provide:

Your fiancé parents can fill out I-134 affidavit of support along with latest tax return and W-2s.

    - nothing about proof of current income...

In packet 4 they gave me the following instructions regarding affidavit of support:

( ) EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Evidence, which will show that you are not to become public charges in the United States. If you have no assets, you may find a financial sponsor in the U.S. who completes form I-134, Affidavit of Support on your behalf. The sponsor should also provide a copy of the most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (1040) and proof of current U.S. income or assets. Form I-134 can be obtained from Citizenship and Immigration Services’ webpage www.uscis.gov

So they don't acually specify what is meant by "proof of current income". could it be as little as last 3 months pay stub for example?

it looks like they're contradicing themselves a bit - or is that just my interpretation. i any case, i'm confused now, and soon running out of time...

  2. Hey guys,

I need advise on what kind of affidavit of support to bring for my K1 interview in Stockholm.

My finacé's mother is going to be my sponsor. I emailed the Stockholm embassy and they told me to bring i-134, tax returns and w-2. they didn't write anything about proof of current income. is that just implied? and what counts as proof of current income? what did you bring?

Any responses are deeply appreicated! Thanks :-)

  3. thanks everyone for clarifying. your responses are indeed very helpful. it looks like my fiancé and his mother need to make an express delivery...

Regarding proof of current income: it's interesting because I contacted the Embassy in Stockholm, where i have my interview, about what kind of evidence of support they need to see. and literally all they told me to bring is i-134, tax returns and w-2. They said nothing about proof of current income. so that's what i told my fiancé. Now I don't know what to believe anymore...

  4. Hi all,

I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have my K1 visa interview next week (thursday). Since my future mother-in-law is going to be my sponsor, she and my fiancé has sent me the I-134 form and her W2's, but not her 1040. For some reason she wasn't crazy about sharing/mailing that kind of information. Do you think that will be a problem at the interview? I do have my fiancé's tax information and pay stubs, but he doesn't make quite enough money to be my sponsor.

Quick replys will be highly appreciated. Thank you so much!

    /Marie

  5. So, our case has shown "In Transit" on the CEAC site since July 23, 2015......I've been calling, writing, and complaining like mad since about mid-August (a week or so after we filed and paid for our DS160.)

Today, I wake up, check my status like every other day, and in red letters get this message instead of the pop-up box:

" Your search did not return any data."

    WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This better be a glitch. Anyone else experiencing this?

I think they are in fact having issues with the site. I can't even get access to the front page due to "server problems". Perhaps they're fixing it right now, and that's why it's completely shut down. I guess. Hopefully it's up and running again tomorrow. I'm dying to check my visa status as well...

  6. I apologize if this question has been discussed many times before. But here I go:

We received our NOA2 almost 4 weeks ago. My fiancé called NVC about a status update today, and much to our surprise the NVC representative could inform him that our petition was given a case number two days ago, and is now send to the U.S. Embassy in Stockoholm. Lovely news!

Now I'm very eager to file my DS-160. Can I go ahead and do that now that I have the case number, despite not having received an official letter with the case number from the NVC, as well as not having received package 3 from the embassy?

    Thanks a lot!

  7. Hi all,

It's been over 6 months since we received the NOA1 (February 18th), so I believe we're entitled to file a complaint about the processing time - or not? I just tried to create and inquiry on USCIS's website, but I get this message:

"Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time. Further information about recent processing times can be viewed on the uscis.gov webpage.

If you have other questions regarding your application or petition, contact USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY)."

Based on a previous thread here I got the impression that I can file and inquiry after six months? Is my online inquiry just being rejected immediately because my receipt number reveals that my petition is at TCS, where there is no such thing as "normal processing time"?

We also sent an inquiry/complaint via email to TCS last week. We included a case number they had given us, but when I go to "my case" on uscis.gov it says that the case number has not been assigned.

Will they not accept inquiries at all at TCS? Anybody with any experience filing inquiries regarding I-129f petitions at TCS?

    Thanks,

    Marie

  8. That's normal. They don't update your case until you either get an RFE or approval..

And the reason why your account gets locked is because every 3 months they reset the password. So you have to make a new password.

Thanks for clarifying, Camilla. I actually thought they had informed you about updates while you were waiting :-)

Unfortuantely, changing the password never solved the problem for me. so I just created a new account using a different password.

  9. I don't know what they do with mail once they receive it (or if they actually try to link it up with files). I also applied in February and got my NOA1 on Feb 17 (Feb 19 is the date *on* the NOA1). I too realized I skipped something and mailed it in. But I didn't do that until about a month ago, and I was approved maybe 2 or 3 weeks later. I didn't make them sign for it so I have no idea if they actually received it or not. But I didn't get an RFE and I got approved on 8/11.

For you--I doubt your file is lost or anything because of this. Worst case scenario, they didn't link up your mail with your original file and you'll get an RFE. I think it's mostly likely that they just haven't gotten to your file yet. There's still just under half of February filers waiting for either approval or RFE (proof that the file has been read), and there seems to be little rhyme or reason for the order they're doing the files in. Based on my ongoing and close monitoring of TSC's February processing, I am pretty sure that you'll hear something in the next 2 weeks. Now, depending on the evidence you left out, and if they liked up your mail with the file that "hearing something" may be an RFE, but those are easy to handle and they're quick to process.

Just out of curiosity, has your fiance been to the US before? I'm starting to wonder if that makes a difference in the processing times or not...

Thanks for you message. It makes me feel a bit more reassured that everything is ok. Actually, I'm the benificiary. I've been to the states many times now. Why would you think it might make a difference and how?

  10. Have you checked your status on the uscis.gov site? Every time they touch or update your case it would be noted there. That's how you can tell. Besides calling and asking. But check your status. That's if you registered.

So now I've created a new account using a different eamil address. finally, I have access, but it doesn't appear that there has been made any changes in our case at all. should i be worried?

  11. Have you checked your status on the uscis.gov site? Every time they touch or update your case it would be noted there. That's how you can tell. Besides calling and asking. But check your status. That's if you registered.

    Thanks for your reply.

we've registered on uscis.gov website twice using two different email adresses, but it always says "access denied". we just gave up using that function. we've called and asked multiple times, but the say that they can't give us any information about our specific case, it's very frustrating...

  12. Hi all.

We submitted our I-129f in february 2015 and got our NOA1 on Feb 18. we have not heard a word from TCS since.

The reason for my question: A couple of months ago, I realized that we had accidentally left out a few important pieces of information in our petition (we did not received an RFE). We mailed this information in a letter to TCS (they told us what address to send it to over the phone), and we made sure, that they had to sign for it upon delivery.

Since it's now been over 6 months from our NOA1 date, I'm starting to get extra-super impatient, and I'm imagining all kinds of things that could have possibly gone wrong in this process (I know a 6 month wait is pretty standart at TSC but still).

Do you think there is a chance that when they physically added our letter to our original petition (if they ever did that), our entire case could have been put in a different pile/box, or however they organizie it, and this way pushed us back in the line? What do you think they do with these pieces of information?

In the letter, we asked them to confirm that they had received our letter, but we never heard anything.

Does anyone have experience mailing unsolicited information (to TCS), and what is your experience?

    Thanks a lot.

  13. Hi guys,

I am currently visiting my fiancé in New York, and I thought I'd tell you a bit about my experience at JFK airport upon my arrival on July 15th.

I was quite nervous, since I don't have a paid job at the moment (only an unpaid internship), and I'm staying at my parents' house for the time being. I had brought a letter from my boss and from my unemployment insurance company stating that i have 4 weeks of vacation, and that i must return to work as well to a meeting with the unemployment company in order to continue to recieve unemployment benefits. i also had m return ticket as well as a copy of our i-129f and NOA1. i was worried that this wouldn't be enough, but in fact I wasn't asked to show any documents at all.

The immigration officer asked about my business in the US, to which I answered "vacation". He also asked about my return date, which i of course told him as well. but he literally asked nothing more than that. It was really easy peasy, and I have never experienced an easier and faster entryto the US. No line for the immigration officers, and my luggage was right there when i got out. I was so happy and relieved!

  14. Hi all,

My fiancé and I are currently applying for K1 visa for me (i-129f was received at TCS on Feb 18 2015). As we expect a really long wait, I'd love to visit my fiancé. I have a valid B1/B2 visa. But I'm currently unemployed (no job contract/payslips) live with my parents (no contract/rent). I don't own a car or have a pet. Basically, I can't really prove having any serious obligations in Denmark. I do receive unemplyment benefits, and I have an unpaid internship at the moment. will that be any good?

Based on your experience, how big is the chance that I will be rejected at the airport. My POE will be JFK/NY.

    Thanks so much in advance!

  15. Hi all fellow February filers,

My fiancé and I received NOA 1 on Feb. 18, and a few days later my fiancé received a hard copy in the mail. I've checked our case status on USCIS website multiple times since, and I just want to make sure that the following message that I keep getting is normal for the time being. Our case is at TCS.

On February 18, 2015, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number SRCxxxxxxxxxx, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by March 20, 2015, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

What do you think? your answers are greatly appreciated.

    -Marie
