Hi All!
I received my 18 month extension letter on 08/18 and then received my approval letter for my 10 year green card on 08/23/2018! What a relief!
-
I just had my biometrics done at my local office Feb 15, 2018. My filing window was early June 2017. I just checked online and it also looks like my local office has received my form I751 as of Feb 26, 2018.
Hoping that this speeds things along!!!

Congrats! The last time we called we were told to call back the middle of January. Don't I know why she suggested that date but maybe it's worth another shot.
Glad your case is starting to move! Even if it's baby steps.
Thanks Coogah! Hope your case moves along soon as well.

I called on 1/29 and had the office send in another service request. I finally received my notice for my biometrics a few days later , FINALLY after 6 months of waiting just for my biometrics.
-
Ok, so just to make sure I got this right:
- I751 is extremely delayed so we are allowed to apply for the N400 once we are 90 days from our extension expiring.
I have some questions though, WHEN do I have to get an I551 stamp? And where would I go for this?
-
Thanks for responding everyone. Yep seems like N400 will be the way to go. I guess since my extension is up in August the window opens up May/June-ish...which means I should start looking into it more now.
Great.
More. Paperwork.

Have you gotten your NOA1 but not your biometrics yet? I can't comment on not getting biometrics after a whole year, but I've poked around the forums and heard of cases that take 2 years+. I'm really hoping they get their stuff together soon.
Yes I have gotten my NOA1 but no biometrics. Actually contemplating maybe just applying for the N-400 soon but it seems I can't unless the 751 is at least processed first?

Frustrating IS an understatement. We just got a response back from our most recent service request in December. We got the same response that we did in September: we have been placed in the appointment queue and will be notified when we are scheduled. It's just so annoying because people after us are getting their biometrics letters and here we are 6 months later without anything. Well....guess we're getting strapped in for a long ride. Time to read up more on getting a stamp.
Aw man. I was just wondering whether you have heard anything back. I STILL have received nothing. Have there been any cases where people didn't receive their biometrics appointment even after the 1 year extension is up?

Haha, yeah same ol' song and dance. We called today and a tier II said it was because of holidays and and influx of requests for travel documents.
Which brings me to my phone call today. Finally talked to a tier II today and we got some confusing results. She said our case is just starting to be processed. While tier I's said that our case was outside of normal processing time, the TII said that it was in the beginning stages and to call back the middle of January or the end of January. Since I was told by TI's that we're outside of the norm and didn't put up a stink when I asked for a service request, the TII that I talked with said that it wasn't necessary at this point. She said that people think it helps, but sometimes it slows cases down and to call back in January. After a little bit, she finally looked at the numbers (repeated July 8 instead of June 8th) and was like well it looks like I could put one in for you. So we ended with me asking for a service request and no confirmation that it was actually done. :/ So here's to hoping the request actually gets initiated.
*le sigh* Seems like CSC is overloaded and understaffed. Thanks for posting your results Coogah. Do you mind giving me the # you called to get access to Tier II? I called a number before but I'm fairly sure it may have been a Tier I person. I will try and give them a call next week and will report back. Getting really worried now as I haven't received anything (aside from my extension letter) since June =/

Have they given you any reasons why the holdup? I thought maybe the local branch where they do biometrics may be backed up or something? But it's a little frustrating to see the majority of June filers (and later filers) already on their way with biometrics and us stuck with no answers. I'll keep everyone updated when we hear more information.
They said that the fire they had in California has caused a backlog in their scheduling department. Maybe we talked to the same person who gave both of us the same excuse haha. It is so frustrating! I was worried I did something wrong with my application...hoping that's not the case. I may try and call again this weekend but not feeling too hopeful with the results.

Can't see where I can edit my post, so here's another one!
Hey Michelle. We're in the exact same boat as you. We have a receipt date on our NOA1 of June 8th and filed at CSC. I filed an online service request and got this as a response:
"The status of this service request is:
On August 11, 2017, you notified USCIS that you have not received an appointment to have your biometric images processed. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been resolved.
The name of the applicant on a Form I-751 petition is automatically added to the Application Support Center (ASC) scheduling roster upon USCIS receipt of the filing. Once confirmed in the system, a biometrics appointment notice specifying the time and location will be sent."
Since August we STILL haven't received anything, so I called about 3 weeks ago. Since I'm not the applicant the CS rep wouldn't speak with me, even though my name is all over the application as spouse. Kinda miffed me but I managed to get from him that it appeared our case was outside of normal processing time and he also cited the natural disasters (fires) in CA as another reason why it is taking so long.
Now about 2 weeks ago I called with my husband and was finally able to talk about the case a little more. The rep started filling out information for a new service request but he said only a tier 2 could do so because his access was blocked. And it just so happened that they weren't transferring to tier 2's because of a high call volume. Sooooooooooo...we still need to call back and get that service request hammered out.
You can fill out a service request online here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do ;but I'd recommend just calling because I don't think they'll be able to do a request over the phone if you've already started one online.
I've gotten a hold of a live person by pressing 1 when it asks for English/Spanish, 1 again when you're in the menu (think it's the option for requesting forms), then 2 for "other forms". You should then be connected to a live rep that'll be able to get you started. You'll need to have your husband by the phone (mine's Korean and his English is still a little rough in these situations so he had to give consent for me to talk with the rep) or just have your husband call himself.
Think I'm done with my book. I'm really interested in knowing what happens with you two since you seems to be in the exact position we are in. Keep us updated!Hey Coogah.
I'm in the same boat too. We got our NOA around June 8 and since then I have sent in a online service request and called. They basically gave me the same response after I called in November and said they would send in another "request"...I'm still waiting. Getting really nervous. Would love to hear how the process goes for you, and contemplating whether I should give them another call since it's been a little more then a month now.
-
Thanks for the updates you guys! I called their office on Friday and the man who answered the phone told me that they have one office who does all the scheduling and they are severely behind due to all the hurricanes that happened in the area. He re-updated my request for a biometrics appointment and told me to call back in 15-30 days if I hadn't received an appointment yet.
Will keep you all posted what they send (if they send anything!).
Also, if they don't send you a biometrics appointment because the previous one is adequate, does that mean we are waiting until they process our application (reportedly next year since they are behind in this area as well)?

Anyone still waiting for their Biometrics appointment? I'm still waiting for my letter since I received the NOA1 in July!

Hi guys,
I filed my i-751 application in June and haven't received the biometrics appointment letter yet. Called them in late July and got a response email " We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period ...". Can you please give me a link to the portal you use to ask them about the status? The one I tried seems not to have option for i-751 question (maybe I am using wrong tool?). It's kind of hard to call and go through all that process while I am at work, an online thing would be a better solution
Stef
Hi Stef,
Sorry this is quite late! I used this portal: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do
Hope that helps! I'm going to give them a call this week, praying I get my biometrics appointment soon! Just frustrating to hear that some people in July/Aug already got theirs!

Hi all,
Feeling a little anxious and discouraged regarding my application. I filed my I751 application early June, 2017 and got my extension letter shortly after. Since then I have been twiddling my thumbs waiting for my biometrics letter and nothing has shown up. I went through their portal late August and they sent back the following response in early September:
"
We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice for this process. Please know that your name has been electronically added to the appointment scheduler. You will receive an ASC appointment notice by mail once an appointment date has been established for you.
"So....I'm still waiting! Anyone else in the same boat? Anything I should do to maybe get my biometrics appointment sooner? I filed via the center in Laguna, CA by the way if that means anything.
TIA!

Hi all!!
I have been happily living in the United States for the last 10 months. I currently work as a healthcare contractor and as a result, taxes are not taken out of my pay checks and I have to do this myself. I am required to pay my estimated taxes quarterly.
The only difficulty is I have no record of paying for taxes in the previous year (2015) and as I filed taxes jointly with my husband, I have to use his name when I make the payment.
Am I doing this correctly? I would hate to be doing it incorrectly and get penalized.
Thank you for your help!!

Anyone receive any updates regarding this? I just tried calling the number they provided in the email (The National Customer Service Center (1-800-375-5283)), had the trickiest time finding the appropriate "service line" to help me, and then had one of the customer service reps say that I need to go to contact the state government travel department regarding my visa? Also, when I tried putting my receipt number in the help line it wouldn't work for some reason.
Anyone else run into this problem?

I just got a similar notice and am in a similar situation to you Not A Tailor. Would you mind telling me what ended up happening?
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I received my CR1 Visa about 7 months ago and have been living in the US since then (I'm originally from Canada). Recently, my husband (the applicant) received this email and a text saying that they are reviewing our case. When I follow the link they provide in the email and put in my case ID number, it says "we are reviewing it and will notify you when we are done". I have also provided screen caps of both the email and the message I receive when I check on my case.
Should I be concerned?? Did I miss submitting something which is causing them to review my case?
Thanks everyone!

Good news everyone! I went to the social security office again and thankfully got a different clerk who helped process my application. I went on a Monday and got it by Friday! WHEW! Thanks for all your help!
-
Thanks Dave&Rosa. Would you recommend I still go to the SSN office tomorrow anyway as the clerk had suggested to me on Thursday? I don't want to head there and then have the same situation happen to me again.
Thanks so much!
-
Thanks faithfulblu. I just tried to check and it said that there were "No cases found that match the search criteria."
Am I in for a long wait? And should I wait until I can actually see my case in SAVE before going to get my SSN at their administrative office again?
Thanks again!
-
Hi all,
Just came from a frustrating morning attempting to get my SSN at the administration office. I did everything I read on this forum, waited 14 days (business days), went to the office with my passport and CR1 visa. The person helping me said that I wasn't in the system yet, and I should wait until I have been in the US for 3 weeks. I told him that technically we were on the third week, in which he replied that I had to wait until next Monday just in case it's still coming in the mail.
I asked him to check the SAVE data base using my name and alien number, and after some skepticism he said that I still wasn't in the system.
Should I wait until Monday to try again? or should I wait longer as I am not in the system yet?
Any recommendations would be great. Thank you--a lot is riding on me getting my SSN as soon as possible.

Hi all,
I'm coming close to my final week of work here in Canada and FINALLY moving to be with my husband in Seattle. My job has given me a "too good to resist" offer of temporary employment in which I would continue to work for them 2 days a week in Canada until they are able to find my replacement.
Am I allowed to do this? Will I run into any issues?
Thanks all!

We are WAC1725. We just received the new 10 year PR card in the mail too! Good luck to everyone's cases! Sounds like they're finally speeding things up.
Now.....time to apply for the N-400? MORE PAPERWORK 🤣
