  1. Well guys.. You have been a source of support for me and I can honestly say that even though I didn't write much on here, reading your comments and replies had given me strength and hope. Today, my love got approved for his visa. Thank you for all your support. We all shared an amazing experience together that others would never understand and though I don't know any of you personally, I feel a sense of comradeship. I wish each and everyone the best of everything and if you're ever in Atlanta, look me up ❤️

  2. You're welcome! By the way, the link they send will already have all your info and your fiancé's info on it. And here's

    What's in packet 3:

1.) link to create an account, make payments for visa, and register a postal address where they will send your visa if approved.

2.) police report, not normal report, but what they call "archived."

    3.) Original birth certificate.

    4.) DS-160 confirmation page printed.

    5.) visa payment receipt

Print all receipts twice. I've been told that they like to ask for it at the interview as well, along with proof of relationship.

I think you will get yours soon because we're in the same region. Best wishes to you, K1visajourney! ?

  3. Here's part of what the email says:

"would like to inform you that your approved petition has reached our office.

Please click on http://turkey.usembassy.gov/visa_forms.htmlfor "Instructions for K1 Visa applicants". You may also find detailed information about the K1 visa process in Ankara at http://turkey.usembassy.gov/fiance_visa_instructions2.html. A separate paper instruction packet will not be sent.

The instructions you will find in the links provided will guide you to schedule an online appointment for you visa interview. You are also instructed to send in the required documents to our office in advance. IMPORTANT: Please note that if your documents do not reach our office before your scheduled interview, you will be requested to reschedule the appointment online. Failure to provide the documents in advance will delay your visa processing."

I hope this information is helpful to you.

    Sincerely,

    Immigrant Visa Unit

  4. Got letter of confirmation from NVC yesterday and today, I woke up to an email from US embassy in Ankara with packet 3 instructions! Luckily, I've already done my I-134 in advance and had my fiancé get police report, and original birth certificate. So, packet 3 is ready to send from our end. Next is Dr.'s report, which must be done 30 days prior to interview date. So, after filling out DS-160 electronically today and scheduling appointment, we will schedule the doctor's appointment. The embassy wants him to bring the medical report at interview and original copies of birth certificate and police report. Yes, get 3 copies of everything! Things are moving fast! Good luck everyone! Thanks for reading my post :)

  5. Well, I made brioche today.. handmade the dough.. Proofed the dough.. baked the dough.. and finally! I got a live one at the NVC! Can you believe it?1? Ohh and she was soooo very, very nice! She gave me our case#, invoice#, and my fiancé's ID#

and oh, it was sent to Ankara on 5/13! I'm soooo excited! I do have a question, which I've already asked the US embassy in Ankara, but wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience or is planning to do the same. I'm planning to spend this summer in Turkey (As I've done every summer since 2013) while my fiancé's visa is in the works. I plan to bring all the paperwork necessary, such as the affidavit of support, bank statements, and my tax returns, etc., but worried that I may need to stay here in case the embassy asked for any other documents.
