  1. We called because they weren't getting back to our email. Then we left our info over the phone and got back to us through email. And it took about a week for them to finally notify us that the EAD wasn't going through because of the pending background check. And RFE is request for evidence. Basically if anything is missing in the initial packet you sent they send you a letter of what they need. I'm assuming that's the reason why we were delayed too.

  2. First by email. Then by phone and then back to email. Just check online for your local congressman and on their website they always have a section for inquiries. They didn't give us a time frame either, but eventually it happened. About meeting them in person, it may or may not help. I guess it depends on the case of heard of people saying that it's no use. But personally it shows that you're doing something right? So it would be up to you.

  3. This happened to us as well. We contacted our Congressman. They contacted USCiS. And in our house they said that the background check was still pending and that is why it was taking so long. We applied in November for AOS and EAD. Got an RFE in December 2015 and submitted the paperwork in January 2016. We just got notice of the EAD and AP being approved on April 28. So don't worry, you'll get a response soon. Why not try making an appointment with a local USCIS office to inquire about it? Hope you get it soon. Take care!

  4. Ok. NVC people told me that they have our case with them and that they are unable to give any further info about when will it leave for ISL. though they asked me to call them in the coming days to have an update.

So its the waiting game again...

Any idea how fast ISL embassy is processing these cases? Roughly how long does it take from here to the visa approval thing??

From NVC to approval it took us 4 months, another month waiting for the visa. we did have packet three issues, cause we received that a month later. so yea.

  5. Hi,

I am new to this forum and I need some information,

Our I129F petition for K1 visa was approved on July 07 2015 and the case was forwarded to NVC on July 14 2015.

I called NVC last night to ask what's next and they gave me a case number starting with ISL. I am trying to track that and it shows No results on the CEAC portal.

I want to know what's next for us. It took us so long to get out of TSC and I don't wanna experience the same torture again. Can someone here tell me what I need to do and how will things move on from here?? I am based in Karachi and my fiancé is in FL.

    Thanks.

You should be getting packet three from islamabad. Otherwise just check the ceac website again in a couple of days with the case number and eventually it would say ready meaning they have your case. Best of luck!

  6. Hi All,

I am a new member of this forum and it seems informative regarding timelines. I have completed all 6 steps on 117th of July, My preference is F4 siblings. Can any one let me know how much time NVC will take to review the documents and if all goes well then how much time it will take for the interview.

    regards

From my experience, they send it out pretty quickly to the embassy, It should probably be there a week later after it reaches NVC. As far as the interview goes it depends on when they send you packet 3 (it took me a month to receive it, for others it's only a few days) and it also depends on when you send it back. Once we sent packet three we got our interview date pretty quickly, maybe a few days.

But as you know the Islamabad embassy has been having some delays, so at this point in time, all of this may not apply. Best of luck!

Anyone else got their case creation date changed to July 22nd? And get AP soon after?

  7. I'll give you a heads up and tell you what happened to me. I was also waiting and waiting. There is a online query you can fill out on the embassy website. It's worth a try but it took me a while to get a response.

I had requested my senator office to help me with my case and his office notified me that they emailed me about a day or two after it was sent to Islamabad. He looked into it and found they had sent it to the wrong email. If you can, try getting the petitioner to ask your senator/representative to contact the embassy on your behalf because they will get a response in a day or so.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for all the information! How did you go about contacting the senator office? Did you call them or email them?

  8. This website has been so helpful, so I just wanted to share the good news. I can't believe this is actually happening.

If anyone has had a co-sponsor, how did you bring up the topic and assure them of the situation? I'm still unsure of who to ask, but it's something that will have to come up without seeming like a weird scary thing. I recently graduated from college a few months ago and only held a part-time job, so I don't exactly fit the income requirement.

    Thanks!
