    Hello WarisShahid,

My mother also filled for an F2A, filing for my little sister Oct 2018 and she just turned 19 this month.  Is the approval date the date they approved your I-130?  I'm really confused with the process.  Can you tell me process step-by-step, please!

Processing time varies from 19 to 25 months , and it’s different on case to case basis. Were  you changing your address ?if you did , may be they’ve messed up sending letters to the wrong one , it happened to friends of mine . Have you checked it online/tried calling to USCIS ? I suggest setting an appointment with INFOPASS , I’ve heard from many people it helps , even though they just gonna look up your case in their system , somehow it pushes the application . Worth trying , it’s free and might help . Also, why you didn’t apply for AOS ? You’ve been eligible to do so long ago , your PD is current and therefore no need to wait for I-130 approval . If for some reason you aren’t willing to go through AOS process, I still wouldn’t be worrying about I-130 yet - wait for a couple months since you are still within 19-25 months timeframe.

    Srajeevan,

How will I know when my PD is current to apply for AOS? Thank you.

bad experience .. can he simply go to the passport office for a replacement passport? 1200 pesos counting the expedite might be worth it even if not your fault

If it was to me, I would have done it already.  But in order to get a replacement passport, we needed to have a police report.  And we don't even know if they really have the passport or not.

  4. Hello,

I filed petition for my father, IR5. I started it since 2017.  Medical took a bit longer, had to wait 2 months.  He was able to do his interview April 2018.  Interview went well.  They took his passport.  Days went by and there was no changes on his status.  Apparently, he got put on AP,  on which we never found out until a million emails sent out to them. He was never given any paper for 221g.  They asked for DNA which we complied.  DNA result was submitted and they got the result and by this time, medical has expired (medical is only good for 3 months, he went through cultural test). So we were asked to get another medical done, which he did again, and again had to go under cultural test (2 months long).  When that was done, it was submitted to the embassy.  We never heard anything from them again for a month (I kind of got used to not hearing anything from them that's why I always send them emails, asking for status and such).  A month later passed, and they replied to me saying they sent a notification to my email (which I never got), I asked for the notification and they sent it to me, which they are asking for my past 3 years tax return and an updated 1-864.  I sent those out right away (had to shipped it from US to Philippines because of the signature).  They received it 2 Dec 2018.  They called the next day, 3 December, asking for my father's passport.  They kept saying that they sent out my father's passport back to him, and they need it back.  They even said that that's the only thing missing and everything is set. BUT WE DO NOT HAVE THE PASSPORT.  We told them that we don't have it.  They called the next day, 4 Dec asking for the passport again.  We asked them to give us the tracking number so we can go to 2go delivery and have it track.  We have never heard anything from them ever since.  I sent emails, but I only get automated replies.  Even phone calls are no help as they just keep saying only thing they can do is to escalate the issues to their higher up.  The 2nd medical has now been expired again (4 Jan) and WE STILL HAVEN'T HEARD NOTHING FROM THE EMBASSY.

Counting from 3 Dec 2018, it is now way over 2 months for Administrative Processing.  I am out of ideas on how to contact them.  Anyone new how we should proceed?

I am also an Active Duty Military and currently deployed.  Anyone know of there's a way I can get them expedite the situation? Who do I contact? Emails?  Please help!

    Thank you!

  5. I got an email today from the US embassy in the Philippines. It states what will my parents need to bring on their interview. According to their review, My parents need to bring an original copy of I-864 from me as the petitioner and an I-864a from my husband as a joint sponsor. The thing is, I already submitted an I-864ez before (NVC stage) as I am the sole sponsor. My income requirements is lower than required because I am in the military and I am way above the poverty level. I'm just wondering if it will delay my mom's visa if I don't send it cause they are wanting an original I-864's from me and my husband with original signature and I'm afraid it is way too late to send it to my mom as her interview is in less than 2 weeks.

Yes, she has to wait for the culture test result for 2 months ( to be exact, 8 weeks) even the initial result is negative. If it turns out positive, she has to do the 6 to 9 months treatment at St. Lukes. It is even worse because she has to stay in Manila during the treatment period because she has to go to St. Lukes everday. It is very pain in the $$$$$$$, especially that we don't have any relatives in Manila and I have to rent an apartment or a room for her. :( That's why I am praying that the initial result is negative and also the culture test (after 8 weeks).

That's very ridiculous! To go back and forth everyday is crazy! I'm hoping that are parents are OK!

    Hi,

I don't think that we have to pay an interview fee other than the IV Fee which we paid online.

On the other hand, we have to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee (fee for green card) which is $220 once we received the Visa packet from the US Embassy.

    Too much fees.. lol.

Good luck to all of us...

Oh thank god! too many fees.... thank you!!

I am sorry to hear about your dad and for the delay.  My mother had her sputum test last Monday until Wednesday.  She has to come back today to get the result and for the pulmonary evaluation.

Praying that the smear is negative even we have to wait for another 2 months for the culture result . But 2 months is much better than waiting for 6 months treatment if turns out positive...

    Good luck and God bless..

So i'm sort of confused. They made your mother to do the 3 day examination and still making her wait 2 months even thou her smear was negative?

Same happened to my parents. My dad has to go to do the spotum test. While my mom got cleared. Is your mom going to wait for your dad to be cleared? Or she will go on with her interview without your dad?

My mom will continue with her interview. Things are complicated as I am going to be deploying in a couple of months for half a year and won't be back until next year. I am sure we are not supposed to let the medical result nor the interview/visa to expire. My fist plan was to pick them up at the same time, but things have changed. I guess my dad will be flying by himself.

Hi how did they know your mom had a small stroke in the past ?hope it goes well with your parents .  I thi the results of the blood tests etc come after 2 days and they do the physical exam after getting the results

yes NVC set the interview date. Good luck

They saw it through her eye tests. Somehow there's something she couldn't see even with a glasses, they then asked her if she ever had a stroke before. She was asked for her maintenance medication and was told to come back after getting some medical certificate from a Neurologist. She came back with it after couple days and the doctor cleared her after seeing the paperwork that she brought. She's now ready for her interview on the 30th. Sadly my father still has to do some examination. I thought he was only going back get the final result, but he was told that they saw something inside his lungs and have to do the 3 day examination. I'm Happy and sad at the same time.

  10. Hello,

So my parents did their medical in St. luke's clinic. My mother was asked to come back and bring some medical examination from Neurologist because of her mild stroke in the past. My father got everything done, but was told to come back on Monday ( they did it on Friday) for the result. Is that normal? I thought St. Luke's is the one to forward the result to the embassy? I'm really confused about it.

Also, my parents interview was set by the NVC.  Is that all they needed? Should I contact the embassy in the Philippines to make sure it is set?  Thank you for the help.

I sent my civil documents and AOS package to NVC on dec 6th and was told it was received on the 9th. But when I just checked my case status on ceac it's saying to submit documents..is that normal? I know I had put suite 200 instead of 100 because that's what was on the welcome letter with the checklist

It is very normal. They don't update it as much as we would like them to. You can call them to make sure they receive the package, that's what I do every time.

LOL! Thank you, and you as well! I'll wait to hear from the US Embassy first before getting my mom's ticket this time. haha! Hoping to get her here by January! :)

Hi Jenna... Just a few questions if you don't mind.

I received the email from the NVC for my parents interview on the 30th of January. It also talks about registering for a courier. I am confused on how to do that. Can you please enlighten me. Thank you.

NVC will communicate with the embassy to schedule your appointment and transfer your packet to them.    Generally you will need that interview letter, but some people have had success in doing their medical appointment/actual medical with just their case number.  Get in touch with your hospital/immigration doctor see if this is possible.  Word of caution though, be mindful that medicals have expiration dates for immigration purpose, so I would suggest you wait for an interview date.

Thank you. I received the email from the NVC. They set my parents interview on the 30th of January.

I'm still a bit confused though. NVC scheduled the appointments for my parents. I am aware that my parents need to get their medical done atleast 2 weeks before the interview.  The letter also talks about registering for the courier, but I am at lost on how to do that.

Congratulations! Hope I hear from them soon as well! My PD is 01/18/2017. Did you get an email before the mail though? Like had you sent in that document requesting email notifications for the petitions?

Thank you! No. I did not get an email from them, though I sent the paper for notifications. It just came in the mail.  My PD was 01/25/2017. You'll hear from them soon too.
