If you're not stuck in Namecheck then you're good. Namecheck can take several months even years.

I am now a USA citizen! Thanks to everyone that has helped me through this journey. KASH2011 and everyone else, thanks a lot! 138 folks from 48 countries got naturalized today. Just updated my drivers licence, state ID, social security and I will be heading to the post office for passport . Hopefully, i'll get it all done today.

When should I expect oath to be scheduled?

Here goes my interview experience: Went with my spouse and kids though it wasn't necessary but it was a psychological boost. Appointment set for 10.30am, got to the office at 9.18 parked across the street @ $18 for 2 hours. Went inside USCIS @ 10am. The IO came at exactly 10.30am. Took oath and went straight to the test. I passed all 6 questions: 1. Bill of right 2. Governor of IL 3. Highest court 4. Capital of Illinois 5. Congress make-up 6. First president. Got the 6 correctly and it boosted my confidence. IO did a thorough review of my application. IO was very professional and straight to the point. Said I had provided all that they need with the initial application and didn't ask for anything else. Did a name change. Finally, I got recommended for approval! One more step to go. The Interview lasted for 16 minutes! So glad it is almost over with. Wish Vjners good luck!!!

I am having my interview in a week from today. Then I suppose I will be scheduled for one of those big 5,000 people Oath Ceremonies that takes place once a month here in Los Angeles Convention Center.

I started looking to see if I could find scheduled dates for those Oath Ceremonies, and I found that the one this month is on May 20th, so I'll miss that but then I could not find anything scheduled for June, and the next scheduled time seems to be July 22. (August and September are also scheduled). This concerns me, because I was kind of counting on being scheduled for an Oath ceremony within about a month after my interview, and I have travel plans for Sweden coming up in July-August (plan on being away for more than a month).

When I was searching the schedule for thelast 18 months, I could not see that there have been a single month without a big Oath Ceremony here in L.A. so I am wondering if this could be a mistake and that they have forgotten to write it out on their calendar? It doesn't seem very smart to skip one month when there are that many people that are naturalized at each ceremony.

For those of you that have been on this site for a while, what are your thoughts on this?

Congratulations! Got mine 7 days after. I told you there's no reason for you to worry. Your Interview may be around 11th of June give or take 2 days.

Interview today and got approved.

The appointment was at 9:50am. Got there 20 minutes early but got called around 10:40am. Lots of people before me and it took them about 40 minutes. My interview only took about 20 minutes. Very quick and easy, officer was very nice too.

My civics test questions were:

1. What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?

2. What is the highest court in the United States?

3. What is the name of the Vice President of the United States now?

4. Why did the colonists fight the British?

5. How many amendments does the Constitution have?

6. Who makes federal laws?

It starts from the date the application was sent. Add any of those days to 2/20 and you'll see that you have no reason to worry.
