  1. Great news from Friday: NVC received my application. The lady on the phone automatically transferred me to a tier2 rep (had to remain in the line for about an hour, so it was another patience-game) but the tier2 rep guy was really kind, gave me the case number, the receipt number.

The processing is not going to take long from here, within a week, NVC will send the documents to my embassy.

Hope everyone else will receive good news shortly!

    Good luck!!!

  2. Try calling early in the morning when the office opens and don't give up, be persistent!

Wait until the automated message says "Thank you for calling National Visa Center" because the automated message changes AFTER that. It might go to the standard "Because of the large number of calls... bla bla bla" you can hang up then but if you hear "Listen carefully... bla bla bla" your call will go through so don't hang up!

After that you choose your menu points and wait for the music :)

Yesterday I had to continuously try, but after 10 minutes of the call-hang up-call-hang up game, I got through.

    Good luck!

  3. Last night we called USCIS. The first representative lady we talked to was really helpful, she acknowledged our issue and forwarded our call to a tier2 rep. The waiting time on the phone for the tier 2 rep was over 150 minutes according to the automated message, so we didn't hold the line, we requested a callback.

About 3 hours later we received the callback from the less friendly tier2 rep.

He told us what we already know basically, that CSC USCIS gathers the approved applications and submits them to NVC in a bunch. The papers might be stll under transfer. He told us to wait 2 more weeks, then call NVC and if they still don't have our file, call USCIS back.

We asked him to initiate a service request, but he declined the request, saying that we have to wait 2 more weeks and we can only initiate a service request after that.

Nevertheless, I'll call NVC next week again.

I'm pretty devastated but I hope the rest of you have better news. Good luck to everyone.

  4. Is that the first time you've called USCIS? Did they put you through to a tier 2 rep? I called them 3 times within 10 minutes of each other and spoke to 3 different reps. They all gave me completely different answers!! It was SO frustrating. Finally I spoke to a rep who was willing to put me through to a tier 2 officer, and he was so helpful. Don't give up if that was the first call you made, keep calling until you get through to someone will give you a somewhat helpful answer.

First time to talk with a rep but yeah I had the feeling he didn't really know how long we should wait so he said 90 days...

We'll try to call them later today to reach a tier 2 rep

  5. Got off the phone with USCIS. They said they send out the approved forms to NVC immediately. The operator told us that after approval they have no jurisdiction over the forms so right now we can't do anything.

He also told us to USCIS call back after 90 days passed and if we haven't heard anything still. This statement doesn't make sense to me after he said that USCIS doesn't have jurisdiction over this, so why would I call them back.... anyways, we'll contact the congressman on Friday...

  6. As we put the service request in on the 09th of April, we haven't emailed NCV yet. So I think my fiancé is going to do that today! When did you email them? I'm thinking about contacting my fiancé’s congressman if there isn't any news by Friday (which is the 15 days USCIS tell you to wait after you file a service request.)

When did you put a service request in?

I read somewhere, can't remember where, that your congressman won't do anything until you go past 56 day. Is this correct?

We sent the e-mail 5 days ago, so we are planning to wait until Friday. After that, we reach out to the congressman.

I don't know about the 56 day wait, but I assume things won't happen overnight... :(

  7. Okay, so I just talked with an operator at NVC, waiting time on the phone was about 12 minutes.

Shortcuts to the operator is well known, but just to have it here too: 1(603)3340700 1(for english language) 1(for approved status cases)

The lady on the phone told me that based on the NOA2 receipt number they don't see my case in the system, and since it has been over 35 days that my case was approved by USCIS, I have to send a copy of the NOA2 to nvcresearch@state.gov to find out where it is.

Guess this is also a standard reply from them, we'll see how fast they respond to the e-mail....

  8. See to me (only thinking logically and not taking ANYTHING into account), your case should be there around Friday to this time next week. However, with the way things are going you just can't be sure. It's really strange how they select which petitions to send. Obviously apart from having a Filipino benificiary, it seems like they just randomly pick petitions to send.

@Howeetest D you tried calling NVC too, right? Could you reach them?

We should be transferred to NVC about the same time, as you know my case was approved at CSC one day before yours (03/05) - but maybe this doesn't mean anything and they really pick randomly what to forward.

On the USCIS case status check I still have the "My Case was approved" message.

  9. For the ones that have NOA2's from CSC, but no NVC case numbers yet:

Has your USCIS profile been updated to say that it's transferred? If not, why have you tried calling NVC? Aren't we supposed to be calling USCIS and asking why it had been approved, but not transferred? Or am I reading your posts incorrectly?

I received NoA2 from USCIS 03/05, based on the USCIS receipt number the application is approved.

We called USCIS 2 days ago and they said the application was transferred and should be at NVC by now, so the transfer isn't the problem in my case.

  10. Okay, my fiance tried calling them, here is his experience:

He called them last night. 45 calls between 9:45pm and midnight. The call didn't go through, only automated answer.

In the morning he tried again, 7am sharp. The line was different this time, no automated message this time.

Here is what he texted me:

I called the NVC exactly at 7:00. Different Menu System. I pressed 1 for English, and then pressed 1 again for the option. "I received a notice from USCIS but haven't received instructions from the National Visa Center." The phone system immediately hung up.

    I called back again.
Pressed 1 for English, press option 3 to "Speak to a representative". Phone system immediately hung up.
    I called back again
this time back to the standard, message. Due to the number of calls
I called 4x again, same automated message."
We found the forum thread about the NVC "shortcuts" so we are trying again tonight and tomorrow morning a little before 7am.
    Thanks for all your suggestions!!
  11. Listen, regardless of where we are in our journey please be mindful of what you say to others. I CLEARLY pointed out the fact by saying you guys have been waiting ALOT longer than I have (AT THIS STAGE), but the fact still remains that we are WAITING TOGETHER which puts us in the same boat regardless if you've been sitting on the boat longer than the newer persons who are just boarding the waiting ship. This is the problem with other people on this website because those at TSC filers talks down to CSC filers because they received their NOA2 a lot faster than the rest of us which isn't something any of us can control. However, I've been sitting at TSC for almost 5 months before my fiancé finally got approved and it's heartbreaking for those who are still waiting whether they applied before me or after while you on the other hand receive you approval in less than a month and now waiting over a month to get your petition to NVC... Oh my looks like the world is gonna end!

I've seen your posts about the long wait at NVC and I do sympathize with you about the long wait, but please don't ever respond to my comment by trying to talk down to me because you feel as if I have no room to comment because you've been waiting 30+ days & we're only at a few weeks. If you calculate my wait time from USCIS to NVC compare to yours, I should be the one telling you that you're not in the same boat or same sea so please be mindful of what you say to others and how you say it. We're all upset and hurting over this immigration journey one way or another, but this constant bickering & snapping at other people on this website is getting ridiculous and needs to stop.

I'm sure it was nobody's intention to make you feel this way. You are right, we are all waiting, therefore we are all in the same boat. We are more alike than we think...after all you both suggested the same :)

  12. All over this site and in the instuctions is tells you not to make any concretre travel arrangments. Well let's just hope you get sorted by then. The trick to calling NVC is, as soon as you hear the voice say 'Thank you', just put the phone down and call back. do that each time untill you hear it ring first. You'll only get through on a ring. Persistence is the key.

At the time of the purchase it sounded like a good financial decision to buy the plane ticket ahead of time, and it looked like I had given reasonable amount of time for the documents to pass through... didn't expect this NVC delay :S Once we reach NVC we'll get closer to find out what the situation really is and if I need to modify the flight... fingers crossed, hoping for the best...

  13. Definitely call around 7am or a little after.. The pass few mornings I called at 7am and I still had to wait 10-15 mins before I got a chance to speak with someone lol but it's worth a try!

You guys have been waiting a lot longer than I have but we're in the same boat. My fiancé got approved on April 2nd and I called USCIS this morning to find out the petition had already been send off, but the lady told me she can't verify that so I should keep calling NVC to see if they have it ( -_- ) I called NVC and they haven't received it and told me to wait 35 days

My Fiance called USCIS, they said they had already forwarded the application to NVC, but didn't say when.

We have nothing else to do but keep trying to reach NVC. We will call them after 9pm and if we can't reach them, tomorrow 7am.

My Fiance has been calling them for the past 3 weeks 4-5 times a day in various time of the day, but all he could hear was the automated message that all the operators are busy... It's ridiculous.

This whole situation is quite frustrating, cause I already bought my plane ticket for June 19th, hopefully with a little luck I can still get the visa by then...

  14. Hello Everyone,

we got NoA2 by USCIS on 03/05 (40 days ago) and we haven't heard from NVC or the US Embassy in my country ever since. My Fiance and I have been constantly trying to reach NVC via phone and e-mail for 3 weeks, but all the lines have been busy, couldn't talk with an operator.

I wrote an e-mail to the US Embassy in Hungary last week but they have not answered yet.

As I wrote, our application has been approved by the USCIS, so I am not sure why there is a delay.

    Should I be worried?

Has anyone experienced extended waiting time with NVC?

    Thanks,

    Marti
