  1. I called USCIS they said there is nothing I can do on their end as I was approved. We were approved and have 90 days to set up the interview and medical etc... at the consulate here in the dominican republic , that expires on the 29th of December . I want to know what if anything I ca ndo so I dont hurt my chances if we get married then apply for a spousal visa

I mvery frustrated spending hours trying to get a solid answer

I hope someone can help me

    thanks,

I know its me im not that savy

  2. Is there a hot line of some sort for questions . Or a consulate number or anything like that

    My big question is this..

We live in the Dominican Republic. We want to go to the States and get married , meet my Mom ,etc. then come back.

I have been approved and need to set up the meeting.

If we go and get married and stay a couple weeks then we leave to come back, without staying and applyign for a green card, am I violating the visa?

Will we have a problem when we want to come back.

I was thinking we could come back and when ready apply for the spousal visa.

Will I be creating a problem for us?

im very confused and having a tough time getting good info

    thank you everyone

  3. Hi

We were approved for the first part of our fiancee visa. I didnt realize we had to go to the States and stay there for a year,. We are not ready to move there yet full time , we need time financially .

I would like to maybe try for a tourist visa and visit, then maybe get married here and apply for a spousal visa.

If I back out of the fiancee visa will it be bad for us in any way?

    thanks

Do I need to go to the consulate office or is there an easier way tht I could talk to someone on the phone/???

    thanks again

  4. Thanks Kaydeecee

I am in the Dominican Republic now. And I want to marry my Domincan girlfriend. She has a daughter. I would like to have the option of living in the States and maybe sending the kid to high school there.

My hope was to go to the States with her , leaving the kid here, get married , meet my family , spend a month or two there and then come back here. And either get ready to go back to live ir visit a couple times a year.

I want to get married. If I marry her here it is hard to get her a visa.

Do you think it would be better to marry her here and then get a spousal visa , or is it too late for that'?

  5. Welcome to the forum.

    A point of correction:

Form I-129 = Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker

    Form I-129F = Petition for K1 Fiance(e) visa

:guides: easily accessible at the top of the forum page. In particular the step-by-step K1 Visa Guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

Good luck on your immigration journey.

  6. Hi,

My name is Peter. I am from Boston. I am starting the process of a Fiancee visa. My fiancee Ana Julia is from the Dominican Republic.

We want to get married in the States.

I just filled out the first K-1 form .

I really know nothing else. A friend told me this was a great site for walking me through the process.

Not sure what to even ask . I am going to fill out all the forms and then try to do everything right.

Hope this is a good way to do it.

    :)
