  1. I completed the N.Z. clearance request form and attached required documents and sent it directly to the United States Consulate General in Auckland, New Zealand.

    (AucklandIV@state.gov)

I received confirmation within 24 hours that it had been sent to Sydney Embassy.

You wont receive a copy of the report as it is sent direct.

    Goodluck :)

  2. Hi Catherine,

Yes i did eventually resolve my dilema.

My partner had to contact his local congressman in his state for advice and additional support as we were worried it would never be resolved.

I was advised that my police check application to the US Embassy in Auckland had been accepted and forwarded to the consulate in Sydney ready for interview date.

They apologised for the conflicting information and explained that they were changing the current process. ( they didn't explain to what)

I recieved a confirmation email stating they have recieved it.

I plan to bring a long a print out of the email to my interview just in case they say otherwise.

    Hope that helps,

    Kiwi

Thank you so much for your response. I was told one thing by the NZ courts, and then read what was on the reciprocity site, THEN saw something completely different on a forum here, so I was so confused! I'll plan to follow what the US says to do. How long did it take you to get the confirmation email after emailing the request?

    Catherine

  3. Hello fellow forum members,

Sorry in advance for the lengthy back ground history, thought it maybe helpful to know tho.

My question relates to the New Zealand police check.

My partner and I received the fantastic news on 14/07/15 that our K1 visa was now at the US consulate in Sydney and after 9 long months of waiting we could finally schedule the interview. The 29th September was issued....The joyous day however was short lived :crying:

As i have lived in various country's over the years, I began to apply for the police checks as part of the k1 interview process. ( United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand ). I might add the Australian and United Kingdom applications were very straight forward to apply for.

I was born in NZ and still hold a NZ passport.

I began to look online. 'How to complete a police check when residing outside NZ' (I'm currently in Australia) and immediately found the the NZ ministry of Justice website and what i thought was the form. There was also information on how to get the police check verified if required.

    http://www.justice.govt.nz/services/criminal-records/requesting-your-criminal-conviction-history-from-overseas

I emailed the US embassy in Sydney via support-australia@ustraveldocs.com and asked if they were happy to accept the police check from the NZ ministry of justice and if i was required to have it verified?

There response was as follows -

We do not require the criminal check to be certified, however, we will require you provide an original copy.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept a criminal check issued by the Ministry of Justice. Please see the following for instructions on how to obtain a clearance: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/NZ.html

I then followed the above link and completed the N.Z. clearance request, attached required documents and sent it directly to the United States Consulate General in Auckland, New Zealand via the AucklandIV@state.gov as directed.

I received a response today from the US consulate in NZ via a generated email with a reply -

'Please refer to the links below for specific information and guidance. If your inquiry can be answered on our website or through one of the provided links, you will not receive another reply'

    Please see generated response below
Q: How can I get a New Zealand police clearance?
A: The Consulate General no longer processes police clearances for residents or former residents of New Zealand.

The applicant must apply to the Ministry of Justice to obtain a Police clearance or copy of his/her police record. The applicant should request the "Criminal Conviction Report" in writing or apply online by completing form "Priv/F1.'

So i am now back to square one, Neither US consulate knows what the other requires and I am stuck worrying about how to get required evidence for the interview. I'm ashamed that my home country is the most difficult to access.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do to overcome the issue?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Kiwi

I am running into the same problem. I found your question after searching on visa journey. Did you find a resolution?

    Many thanks,

    Catherine

  4. Hi,

They will mail you packet 3 in a few days. You do not need to send back anything to the embassy but start collecting any necessary documents like: birth certificate, criminal record statement from any country that you lived for at least 6 months, chat logs, skype logs, etc.etc. All the information you will find in packet 3 . Have you scheduled your doctor appointment yet? Before you go to see the doctor make sure you have your vaccination record with you. If you have everything ready you can schedule your interview pretty much on the next day. You make the appointment online. You can reschedule 3 times online without being penalized. Things go fast at the embassy in Warsaw. I received my passport 2 days after my interview.

Thank you!! Where do I go online to schedule the interview? Or is all of that info in the packet?

  5. Hi all - First, I apologize for likely posting this in wrong place. I have a question related to the procedures for a K1 at the US Embassy in Warsaw. Based upon DHL tracking, our petition arrived in Warsaw yesterday. Can anyone tell me how the embassy handles from here? Do they mail Packet 3, or email, can we schedule an interview prior to submitting documents, what's the estimated time frame, etc. Any advice/information is much appreciated!

  6. I just got my NOA2 approval after RFE!!! Almost can't believe it. Of course my Fiancee is sleeping and won't know until morning  Thanks to everyone who helped keep me sane to this point! I'm am really wishing the remaining April filers get caught up soon, it's really crazy the order things are processed. I guess I need to figure out what to do next!

That's wonderful news!!! Congrats!!! Finally all your waiting paid off :)

  7. yep! it has to be on company letterhead, it has to have your name (obviously lol) your job title and duties (my job was not able to put my duties in the letter so i printed out my job description from our internal website and attached it), your start date, whether you're full or part time and your salary. make sure they sign it! and make sure you include recent pay stubs (closer to the date of the interview) to prove that you're still employed there.

    Thank you shellymarie!!

  8. lol rush hour!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't even think you realize how big of a fan club you have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so many people are cheering for you (of course i hope more than anything that ALL of the remaining April filers get approved ASAP)...but i literally FEEL your pain through your posts!!!!!!!!!!!!! do yourself a favor and DO NOT look at igor's list today.......you will not be happy!! BUNCH OF BS! anywho...i'll keep my arthritic fingers crossed for you and hope some good news comes your (and everyone's) way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't agree more with you shellymarie! I still read this thread waiting and hoping for my early April filers to get some good news. Rushhour, you've been waiting way too long on this, and I feel for you - I really hope good news is right around the corner for you and your fiance. Happy for you that you at least have your trip to look forward to!!

  9. no bugging at all! :) i don't think there's really an average. my case was received and processed on the same day (the 27th), mailed to the embassy 3 days later (the 30th), and received/CEAC updated on 7/6. so it was relatively quick. however, NVC is "allowed" 35 days before it's considered over the processing timeframe. from here on out, everything depends on your country's embassy and how they handle it according to their procedures and requirements.

did you get through yet to get your case number and if/when it was shipped to the embassy???

Nice, thank you! I did - she said they received it today, so I'm hoping it moves as quickly as yours did. Thanks again for your help!

  10. well thats good! but that sucks that they transferred you...because they are supposed to give you the case number before they transfer you lol. to do the dhl thing, its helpful to have the date your case was processed and case number was created, so you know what date range to search.

you can try it though. go to the DHL website and search by shippers reference

your example should look like this: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/549544-april-filers-after-noa2-nvc-csc/?p=7703005 (someone in this group posted this the other day).

my case number was assigned on 6/27. I found mine like this:

    EXP 30 JUN 2015A

and for the range i put 6/27/15 to whatever the current date was when i searched

    good luck!

Sorry to bug everyone - anyone know what the average turn around time is once NVC receives your paperwork?

Thank you!! I called back and amazingly got through. She wouldn't give me the case number before she transferred me again, so I'm on hold for now. Fingers crossed I have a better result this time :)
