Hi, I received a letter in regards to my daughter's AOS from K2. They say that form I-693 wasn't submitted or has expired. None of us submitted this form because our medicals were still valid and we submitted DS-3025 with our AOS. Does this mean she has to have another medical? She has also been scheduled for an interview. I am so confused, we (myself, son and daughter) all submitted exactly the same set of forms at the same time, my son and i have received our green cards a week ago - no hassles or interview. Any advice or help is appreciated.
Wording as follows:
Dear Customer: The Service has received the form I-485 you submitted. In connection with the Form I-485 you were required to submit form I-693. You have either failed to submit I-693 or it has now expired. As a result, a current I-693 must be submitted. You are receiving this notice along with an appointment notice to appear for an interview in regards to you filed I485. In order to expedite the processing of your form I485, we ask that you bring a current Form I-693 on the date of your scheduled appointment.

Hi everyone! I have a quick question regarding the documents I need to take to my interview at the end of the month:
Firstly, the updated letter of intent to marry - can my fiance scan and email the letter of intent to me, or does it have to have to be the original?
Secondly, can she also scan and email the approval notice for I-129F?
I know that the unabridged birth certificate and police clearance need to be original documents but I'm hoping my fiance can just scan and email the i-129F and letter of intent......
Thank you for you time.
Hi
As far as i know the updated letter of intent is meant to be original, however, they did not even look at or take it. They just used the one that was sent in with our I-129F. My NOA1 and NOA2 notifications were scanned and emailed to me which i then printed but again they didn't even ask for them. Good luck!

I also got the DHL email today! Going to pick it up in Sandton on Monday, right in time for my flight on Monday night. I can't explain the relief! lol I know how you feel, it's been 14 months since we started the process and it's finally at the finish line!! Congrats again and good luck with everything!!
Oh that is awesome!! I literally burst into tears when i got the news - it was like the weight of the world had been lifted. Safe travels! SQUEEEEEEE!!!
Congrats!!!!!! :-D
Thank you so much!

Thank you and congrats!!! I received the DHL email this afternoon, paid and sent everything back so hoping our passports will be delivered on Monday. EEEEEEEEEP!!!! I can't believe the wait is over and this is happening!!!!

Yes they kept our passports and gave me a paper with instructions on getting it couriered to Cape Town.

We're all in AP now.

Went really well thank you! The interview was literally 10 mins. The interviewer was really friendly. Asked when we met, how we met, have i met his family and what does he do for a living. They didn't say an outright yes or no but that everything looks good and don't see any issues and that i have to wait a few days for an email with further instructions. Saw today that 2 of our status' say "administrative processing" and one says "ready" so i figure the kids are in administrative processing, whatever that means.

Yes for sure......just nothing about wedding. Your Embassy is not a hard one but don't need to take chances .. You have plenty of evidences.
Awesome thanks so much for your help

I highlighted that item in your list in bold.
Right ok! Thanks What about my engagement ring invoice?

Looks good except for one thing.

Just as a light at the end of the tunnel - i was both a smoker (10 years ago) and have asthma and my chest xrays came back normal/clear.

You can't schedule with just a case no. When booking the medical appointment they ask for a copy of your Embassy Appointment Confirmation letter. The lady also said to me that all medicals have to be done 10 - 15 days before your interview date.

I went to Paarl Home Affairs and got my certificate back within a month. This was because the first two sent (@ 2 weeks and then @ 3 weeks) both came back with errors. Third time lucky i guess.
I know a few SA Expats use Docassist or similar and have all had good experiences.
-
Yes, that's correct. He will have them signed and certified along with a copy of his passport before giving them back to me.

I do have their unabridged/long-form birth certificates. My ex husband and i have discussed our emigration at length and he is happy/willing to give the needed letters. I have amended a "travel with a minor" consent letter but was hoping to get an example/exact format to see if i'm on the right track. I will contact the embassy to find out what is required. Thank you all

Hi we have finally recieved our Packet 3 and are basically ready to request an interview. YAY! I have two children (5 & 8yo) who will be applying for K2's at the same time. However there was no information in the packet regarding the requirements/documents needed for them. I know i need to fill out a DS-160 for each of them as well as a medical. I have read on here that i need a consent letter from their father? Does any one have any info on this, examples maybe or any other info on what is required for the K2's? TIA
-
We have discussed this indepth and he is happy to give me the letter i was just wondering if there is specific wording or format that needs to be followed or if there is a specific form that needs to be filled out.
-
I was wondering what permission letters or documents are needed when it comes to my kids K2 visa's? I am divorced with joint custody however primary residence is with me. TIA

I know i am just starting this journey but i too face an 8 month + wait at TSC and it all seems grossly unfair and heartbreaking. There must be something we can do? Start a petition maybe?
I see someone from here wrote a letter to your President on 9 Feb this year and soon after they announced they would be routing cases to CSC.
Maybe another letter pleading your cases of being stuck in TSC limbo for so many months is warranted. Please don't be offended by my suggestions as I don't know how things work in the US but surely it can't hurt to try?
-
O.O um... thank you... i think
-
So to clarify...
All cases are submitted to TCS where they are then sorted. They either remain at TSC and get an SRC receipt number OR get ROUTED (not transfered) to CSC and are given a WAC receipt number. Correct?
So then how does transferring cases work? Does anyone know the criteria/reasons for being transferred? Do they give you a new case number? What i'm asking is, is there still hope for those of us TSC?
Also, off topic... How do you add all the timeline info and cutsey stuff at the bottom of your post?
-
I feel your frustration and wished we had waited just a week longer before submitting. It's so hard being happy for others when we don't have the same hope.
I have seriously considered this option too but don't have the funds to pay for a second application at this point. Also, how would it work? Do you withdraw your first application or leave it and see which comes up first? Is it legal or would it count against you?
Surely there is something that can be done? Or do we just sit back and resign ourselves to the long wait and hope and pray that it goes by quickly?
