I came to US under refugee program, I only have a green card and Refugee travel documents issued by US Department of Homeland security.

Few weeks back i called the counsulate in New York, at first he have no idea what i was trying to say, He dont even know what Refugee Travel Documets are.

I dont know , it maybe take 6 months to issue a visa...

Does anyone had experiance with Phillipines Embassy in New york to obtain tourist visa?

I am Green card holder and have Refugee travel documents? I want to meet my girlfriend that, i have not seen in 5 years.

Any information will be appriciated.

Actually i got off work 7am, and the USCIS office is right walking distance. I did not miss anything, as long as i showed up.

But guy seems to know me pretty well cause he been contacted by Senator and Congressman.

He told me right away without looking into computer , We cancelled your interview:)

Well at least i know why they cancelled.

So went for interview even though it was cancelled. I was told my officer interview got cancelled. The file is in Local office but still Name check not completed yet.

And dont know how long it will take.

What ever, i will go for interview even though its cancel. They been playing tricks with me for 9 months. I will pretend i didnot receive any cancellation notice.

Atleast i will get my answer why they cancel my interview. There is nothing i can do if they delay for background check or any other reason but atleast i will know why.

There is no way to tell how this people operate, maybe they do interview before name check or after name check, No one know how do.

In short they can do what ever with your application, it dont bother them a bit.

I received the letter today, my interview was suppose to be on 9 nov.

I received Interview letter on Oct-6 2015 and today on 30 Oct i got letter that " Unforseen reason my interview has been cancelled".

Should i go for interview regardless or wait for new letter?

This is really frustrating.

My brother got inline for interview after 3 days biometics, and he became citizen in less then 3 months. we are from same country of course:)

But his name is not common , he have very very complicated name.

I understand that.

What I am saying is treating two people in similar circumstances differently is illegal.

For example, the fact that you had your interview scheduled is a PROOF that your background checks came CLEAR.

So, what was a hold up about? Why you waited 9 months while some German born Manfred waited only 72 hours to be placed in line?

Most likely your hold up was about your country of birth (or some other algorithmically assigned "risk" factor which has nothing to do with you as an individual), and the alleged "suspicion" was that since you were born somewhere where a lot of "suspicious" people live, then there is a high likelihood that you too are a "suspect". So, DHS, FBI or whoever it might be spent nine months searching for a black cat in a dark room in your case. Finally, they gave up on finding what doesn;t exist and decided to schedule your interview. You are lucky. It took only 9 months for them to give up on looking for black cats in a dark room. There are some other "suspicious" MATRIX profiled people who wait longer, some wait for years.

Overall, if my memory serves me right, there are 10% of applicants (out of the total submitted) who fall into this alleged "suspected" category and wait indefinitely for their cases to move forward. ONLY 0.2% of them get ultimately denied on security grounds. That's 9.8% of made up "suspects".

Something is wrong here. 9.8% is being mistreated and arbitrarily denied a due process as well as equal protection of the law, with the false pretense of "security" being a reason.

But nothing harms security more than putting application in indefinite HOLD and NOT apprehending/denying a suspect. That gives a lot of time to bad guys to do whatever harm they want to do. If SECURITY was of real concern, those bad guys would have to be dealt with in fastest possible time frame.

And the rest , or 9.8% who has nothing to do with 0.2% should not be mistreated in such a way so that some private contractor can masquerade and rake in a lot of tax payer dollars in collaboration with close friends in high places who give out those lucrative contracts.

There is something sisnister about this whole business and it doesn't sit well with our Constitution.

I got inline 7 months after my biometics, and "Interview Schedule" 3 days after inline notice. You only get inline status if you security check is completed.

Usually You get inline notice 72 hours after bioethics, Sometimes month, after and sometimes months after. No one knows.

Inline status has nothing to do with USCIS office, but its has to do with FBI background check.

Interview is schedule by National Benefit center, They check the online system and if there is slot available so they go ahead and Schedule. Once the interview is Scheduled they ship your file via USPS to your local USCIS office:)

Local Office only act as Interview taker or Ceremony assistance. Main job is done by Benefit center( Department of Homeland Security ) and FBI .

You are confused again.

Status changes to "interview scheduled" just before you get interview letter. But that's not what I am taking about.

"In line" to schedule is what you get couple of days after biometrics. It may then take 60 days or more for your status to change to "interview scheduled" , depending on how busy the local office is.

"IN LINE" status update happens right after biometrics and has nothing to do with how busy your local office is.

Please dont listen to people negtivety towards your hasband without knowing him. Life is not easy as you think here in US he might be having financial difficulty, issues to settle and nothing to do with your marrige. Alot of people here are brain washing you " He might have a mistress here in US" . I dont think so he does.

He come to visit you 3 times a year, i saulte him atleast he visits you, and keep regular contact with you.

Ask yourself do you want to break up marrige cause he cant bring you over here at this moment?

Sepration is tempary, in future you guys will be together, just keep your self positive and continue on your normal life, Having to visit you 3 times a year and regular contact with you if bettert then not been married at all.

Hold your love, and your marrige tight, dont let people brain wash you and give you bla bla bla . You said you are pretty much independent right? So why so much worry?

MiaPA: Give it another month or 2 , you will get interview. My biometics were on 2/25 and Oct-2 only i got inline for interview. We are at the mercy of them. They can do whatever they want to.

You will get the interview letter in a mail. The interview letter will have the address where you will be interviewed.

Simply follow the instructions. Fingureprint can be done anywhere in the country as long as its USCIS office. But interview will be in location where it mentioned.

A friend of me, we came to US the same time,Same day, Filled the N400 same day. Even though he had few traffic tickets, Reckless driving violation and out of 5 years he barelly worked 2 months.

His process took total 3 month and he got natualize. Other the other hand. I have no traffic tickets, never ever been in touble, filed taxes ontime and always always worked since i came here. I am still hanging on after 8 months.

I am not defending no one, The lady at the office told me. its about name to name, somewhere if ur your name match with someone criminal, FBI dig deeper to resolve the inquiry. Its time consuming and labor intensive. Or just simply they have intrest in certian nationality to do more extra checks.

Please Remmember, Each and every applicant is different, every file is different, If you focus on who got done before you. Why and why not me in line yet its just beating your head.

USCIS is very large politics, its beyond our control. Since you have no issue with your background i wouldent even worry about it. Just wait till it comes. Please dont go any lawyer or etc AT THIS POINT NO ONE CAN DO ANYTHING .

There is a filer in August UKFAN, this applicant is also from my same USCIS office ...See that applicant got done long time ago. I am Jan filer and still not done yet.

Make sure she dont mingle with her friends, they are going to teach her some trick to file VAWA.

Always have someone with you all the time, NEVER STAY ALONE WITH HER. she might knock her head to the wall and call the cops on your.

True story of close friend of mine. He paid alot of money for her medical bills, paid her money to sue him, and etc.

Please buy her return ticket, dont leave till the plane take off.

You just dont know, K1 visa can turned into instant green card on your cost.

I will suggest you to get a very good lawyer first to take off the ticket off your record, second your chances to obtain further stay in United States are very narrow.

USCIS do not want to hear how much innocent you are, or you been scammed or abused they only follow the book. Since your sponcer and ticket to your green card pulled back , You can not get a green card.

You better start looking into other countries because upon your return to US you might get deported right back cause you have domestic voilance charges and THEY ARE TAKEN VERY SERIOUS.

Move on, forget about it and start a new life in your home country. Lets say you are in US it will very challanging for you to even get a job because you have a criminal backgound.

You have 2 options here, 1- Move on and stay where you are, or find another country.

2- be ready and drain your money on lawyers and live a very bad life fight for rest of your remaining life.

You had your FP taken 8/24/2015, Its not been even 2 months yet, and you start to get worry, please calm down cause it way to early to even worry about anything. It usually takes 72 hours to clear FBI background check or Name check, Sometimes it takes 3 months and some times it takes 6 months, because if your name "hit" the FBI database for same name and date of birth and country of origin. So they have to look up more detail which is time and labor intensive.

I agree with you, taking too long to resolve the issue or security check is not good thing, If someone is bad a guy 1 day is also a too much to have him loose in open air. But we are talking about the most immigrant populated country in the world. Immigration is out of control , too many immigrants and not enough resources.

Probably i will tell you right now, looking at those VJ filers and comparing them with yourself is very bad idea. EVERY CASE,EVERY PERSON, and EVERY SITUATION is different. You cant blame your USCIS office why your friend or neighbor got interview before you or got naturalize before you. USCIS DON'T KNOW YOU NEITHER THEY CARE HOW MUCH YOU ARE IN HURRY, OR HOW BAD DO YOU NEED THIS DONE.

Its all about a Black box, when you hit , its done quick , if its doesn't hit it will take time.

Another thing i tell you that , Baltimore, has same day ceremony so it will take longer then other offices to do interview, cause your likely to receive your certificate same day or week after.

Another thing taking USCIS to court, you are talking about American's most powerful federal organization which has power and legal ability to do anything with your application, Alot of lawyers dont even want to takeup your case cause unless its 3 to 4 years mark.

FSI , and me waited almost 7 months to get inline for interview. There is no way you can do anything. Going to Info pass is useless, creating inquiry is useless. There is absolutely nothing you can do.

No one knows whats going on behind the close door. But one thing i know FBI primary take longer to clean certain origins. You might have done nothing wrong in your life but still its not your fault .

You will hear something soon, please be paitant .

Dont do anything for now, save your self time and stop worrying. Chill out and forget you ever applied for N400 and remember when you receive your interview letter:)

I am a permanent residence and i am here from last 5 years. Its time for me to apply for the citizenship but unfortunately i lost my i-94. What should i do now? Is i-94 needed to apply for citizenship??

You dont need I-94, USCIS can lookup your i-94 if they want.

Only thing you need is Green card, Social security card,fee 680$, Driving Licence, and actul application. I lost my 1-94 long time ago:)
