  1. How do we know if status "READY" means packet is in the consulate? I got "READY" 2 days after scheduled interview and after 1 day "in transit". DHL showed packet leaving the day after interview was scheduled and arriving 4 days later. So "READY" was there while the package traveled for 2 more days. Someone else in Germany got "READY" next day without any time "in transit". Either packets are sent before interview date is officially available or the status can turn to "READY" before the documents arrive at the Embassy.

  4. Interview email came on 4/16. DHL tracking showed a packet was sent on 4/20 and will arrive tomorrow 4/22. The status turned to READY today but the only other packet to the embassy was shipped on 4/15. What to make out of this? Can status turn to READY before packet is at the embassy? Or can they ship packet before the P4 email date? My understanding is that P4 comes the same day when interview was scheduled.

  5. I called NVC twice and got 2 different answers. One was wait for the review of AOS and see if you get a checklist. It was mentioned again that there is a new policy to not checklist the very small errors. Second one told me to just go and submit a corrected version and not risk additional delays (also confirmed new policy but was not very optimistic). I was surprised to learn that they take and keep notes of the phone calls. She knew that I had called multiple times and questions that were asked.

  6. There is an error in the Affidavit of Support filled for a Parent. Instead of total income the numbers used are the ones from the W2. The numbers are very close as the income is 99+% from W2 but there is a small amount of interest that makes the difference. Income is sufficient and the few $ from interest income are not needed to meed requirements. I called NVC and asked them should I proactively submit new form with exact matching numbers and they said NO. They told me that in the past they would issue checklist for any small inaccuracy but not anymore.

Do you think that they just wanted to get me of the phone? Do you think I should ignore them and send new form (and restart the 60 day clock) anyway?

    Thanks
